This is a large store, and you can get pretty much anything you need book, magazine or stationery…read morewise. They also sell a selection of snack foods, sweets and drinks. To the back right of the store they have re introduced a small selection of DVDs at good prices. They have now changed the tills, and only have 2 manned with 2 self checkouts. If you go in at the right time, you can avoid the queue, but most times there is a queue. The store is pretty dark & dingy and could do with a major refurbishment. They always try and sell you something extra like chocolate at the till.

Prices are still reasonable, but product selections low with only the more popular of each range being available to the consumerStationary however is still a good bet as there are limited alternate options within Newbury. There is a good Newsagents range with many magazines available, and a subscription service available if your so inclined. The store itself has had some refurbishment also with Disabled access and automatic doors being introduced.

I use it to get cheap tissue paper for wrapping gifts and cheap hardback books. It's not the place to go if you're shopping for a specific book or genre, but more of a pot luck of items. The tend to have a lot of non-fiction books and kids stuff. Staff are always chatty and friendly.
