Souvenirs at the information center reasonably priced: $10/t-shirt for pre-shrunk tees is fair. Restrooms are clean. The Falls have plenty of photo spots and information about rock formations and how the Falls came to be. Many easy walks and if you are here and a big plus is that it isn't saturated with people. There is space to think and breathe in the peacefulness of this nature caused by glacier formations nearly 14,000 years ago. It makes all of us and our piddly Yelp! reviews seem rather irrelevant. Great place for daydreaming. If you have 20 minutes or 3 hours, you'll be satisfied with your visit here. read more

This is a beautiful place to stop, spend some time, have a picnic, etc... Unlike many places, you can walk right up to the water, feel the spray of the falls and marvel at its power. Whenever we're in NW Iowa we make the jump across to this park. It's the best falls in central US! There's quite a bit of parking, but on weekends it can fill up during summer weather. Drive a bit further around and find lots a bit further away in that case. read more

We stopped here on our way through Sioux Falls. The park is easy to reach and very scenic, although not particularly large and lacking in activities. It's easily accessible as it's actually quite close to the downtown area of Sioux Falls. That's definitely a plus, especially if you're just passing through town and want to visit a few places without wasting a ton of time on just moving around the city.It's also very pretty with plenty of viewing points of the falls and areas to take pictures. There is also a military reserve base nearby if I'm not mistaken. So on the off chance that you are visiting during the right time, you may see some F16s doing maneuvers over the park, like we did. The free air show was great. Unfortunately there's a few major things that could be improved on. For one, the water is murky and brown. I'm not sure if it's dirty or just the natural color the water takes on due to the specific makeup of the sediments in the river. If it's the former, then it's really unfortunate there is no effort to keep the river clean. There's also a noticeable amount of trash being thrown into the falls, notably plastic bottles. It doesn't ruin the experience but it's pretty sad to see people (probably tourists) ruining nature. Besides these complaints, there also aren't too many activities going on, but it may be due to the pandemic and the fact that we visited in October. There is a viewing tower (which was closed) and there were some bleachers set up inside the Queen Bee Mill ruins, so I assume they have some informational presentations there during the summer. There is also a cafe, which was open. Overall it's a very nice park, that people seem to take for granted. It's pretty small, just around the falls, but has free parking and presumably fun activities going on during the summer months. You can take a ton of cute pictures and get up pretty close to the waterfall. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in Sioux Falls. read more

This is a really beautiful park. What a great asset to have in the middle of Sioux Falls! This park is one of the reasons that I came to Sioux Falls for a long weekend road trip. I was very excited to see it, and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I'm impressed. There is quite a bit of parking. The walkways are in wonderful places, and you're able to get really close to the falls, but it also doesn't ruin the view. (We had the mist on our faces!) There are bathrooms on both sides, and a nice bridge connecting the sides. The cafe seemed very basic, and we did have to go elsewhere for food, but it was a lovely building. It is definitely worth coming by for a visit! read more

I hadn't realized that the falls were such a big deal... I had thought that "Sioux Falls" was just a clever name. Anyhow, the park is impressive, especially considering what the area used to be like, 80-100 years ago, when it was industrial and used for hydroelectric power. Some large photos of that era are on display in the cafe, the former power station. Today, it's a mostly clean and picturesque park, and the falls are the star of the show, with the various rock formations and ruins providing an impressive backdrop and supporting role. Some of the vantage points are surprising. They're best seen, rather than described, and experienced in person, though photos can give you an idea. If you're in Sioux Falls, you need to see the falls that put the Falls in Sioux Falls. read more

Absolutely beautiful! A must see if you're in the area! There is a visitor center and an observation tower. These buildings give you plenty of information to brush up on your history and enjoy the view. When we visited the falls they were heavily flowing with all the snowmelt and it was a busy day with it being the first sunny day in awhile. But we still felt like we could spread out and get our selfie pic with the falls in the background. Lastly, don't forget this is a park with walking trails to enjoy too! read more

What a pretty set of water falls right in the middle of the city!! I'd love to work downtown and take me lunch breaks at the Falls. As a visitor it's quite a sight and, of course, it's FREE. Take the time to visit the falls and the observation deck for a great view. The ladies in the gift shop are really nice and knowledgeable. read more

Falls Park is awesome! It's a park with some trails around waterfalls and a creek, and there's a tower free to go up to get a view of it all. Quite busy on a Friday afternoon but not super crowded; there's some construction going on at the northern parking lot area so we had to go around but not too bad at all. Kind of nice waterfalls from a distance. Water looks kind of gross up close and the terrible sewage like smell doesn't help. Covered our faces with masks and that didn't help much. Couldn't stand the smell past a few minutes and left. read more

The directions leading us there past a huge meat packing plant had me dubious but then we made the last turn and Falls Park appeared like an oasis! Green, clean - a breath of fresh air. Lots of picnic tables, many of the in covered shelters and lots of parking, including RV and overflow across the street. Paved paths to give you many views of the falls and signage depicting the history of the falls as well as the remains of the Queen Bee Mill and surrounding area. Clean restrooms and also a visitor center with gift shop and a tower with a viewing platform. Not sure what it would be like on a weekend but afternoon on a warm weekday in May was crowded. read more

Really cool park offering up some great views of nature but also downtown Sioux Falls as the backdrop. In addition it is very near the airport so it was neat seeing the planes so close to the ground as they approached landing. There is a great observation tower, bridges over the falls, an old mill and cafe all within the park. My only reason for 4 stars is because this is very near a hog processing plant which we happened to be downwind from on this particular day...at times the smell made it almost impossible to eat. read more

Definitely worth a trip to see if you're anywhere near Sioux Falls. Great view from the observation tower, free. You can get a good-quality t-shirt at the gift shop for under $10. There are miles of walking and bike trails that wind near and around the river. You can bring your dogs, just clean up after them. It's great to be able to get up close to the falls. Lots of places for kids to run and play. There are picnic tables in shady spots. There's a cafe that serves sandwiches and light snacks. Restrooms are clean and accessible. It's a beautiful, clean, well maintained park. Parking for RVs and trucks is at the Farmers Market pavilion which is directly across the street from the falls. There's a small sign pointing to RV parking but you can barely see it so check out Google Maps for its location. read more

How awesome of a little park this is!!! I have been to Sioux Falls a few times for work and have never been to the actual falls, until this past week :-) The manicured grass is beautiful and perfect for families to gather for a picnic for playing games. Falls Park is a beautifully man-made park in Sioux Falls. The weather was gorgeous in mid-April, sunny with a light breeze. The sound of the water falls was very soothing as well. Many people come and go quickly. Few park benches around, definitely lots of paved walking trails around the park, as well as restrooms. I saw mother ducks and little duckies near the water. Bike trails , waterfall views with multiple viewing spots and benches for relaxing; makes for a great park

Amazing Park that is open and free for visitors, with lots of spaces for parking, beautiful hiking trails and natural waterfalls for the kids to play with. It even has watch tower with views of the entire city, and a Stockyards museum to teach kids about farming, and interactive Farm-to-Table exhibits. The ONLY drawback here: it smells really bad. I think the air is full of cattle country and being urbanites from California, we are NOT used to inhaling such aromas. read more

I went there on my vacation from last year and with my friend and it was a nice park to visit and it's like the Niagara Falls of the Midwest and but a smaller version of Niagara Falls. So the waterfalls are so beautiful and the scenery is so good and especially and when I go up in the observation tower and where I can get a view of the whole park and they have a nice gift shop and places and where you can walk in the park and benches. This is a must visit spot! You can walk right down to the water, and there isn't a bad place to take a photo. Take a few minutes to go up to the observatory deck and take in the view from there too. Note: I found out there is a meat packing plant nearby, which smells horrendous. Unfortunately I was there on one of the smelly days, but the view was worth it anyway! read more
