I responded to a Craigslist ad for a used flatscreen, which turned out was posted by FLPB. I did purchase the unit only to discover later at home after setting it up that it was a unwatchable, worthless piece of crap. Very dim lighting, shadowy screen, and bleached colors. None of the picture controls could remedy it, it was simply a dying LED board which is not worth repairing. I contacted FLPB the next business day to alert them that I was returning it. I was told there were no refunds and that the flatscreen was "working fine" the day I bought it. Well, I don't know what TV they were looking at but it was definitely not working fine. Note: they keep their big flatscreens behind a protective enclosure so there is no way a customer can inspect them up close, which contributed to this problem. I did return it and long story short, the staff did everything to try to convince me it was working fine but would offer me half my money back which I thought was a ridiculous offer. I was stunned that three staff members looked at it all agreed the picture was just great. I decided to purchase another unit if they would credit the full purchase price of the first unit, and they agreed to do that. The second flatscreen works fine and I am satisfied now. I understand how the pawn industry works and that there are no refunds. Anything you buy used is a roll of the dice, especially at a pawnshop. However I was not at all impressed with the way this handled at first. No terms of sale were given to me upon purchase. Nothing in their ad said it was as is. They simply sold me a piece of crap and then fought me on it when I complained. That's just bad business in any industry. However, we found a reasonable solution although I think some sort of discount for the inconvenience would have been appreciated. And they should do themselves a favor; take the loss and throw it in the trash because anyone else they try to sell it to will bring it right back as well. They obviously did not examine it carefully before they took it in their inventory. Be careful what you buy. read more

FALL RIVER PAWN WEST WARWICK RI STORE HAS HUGH FLOOD AND DOES NOT ALERT CUSTOMERS TO WATER DAMAGE. Fall River pawn shop in West Warwick had a big flood last summer. There was at least 5-8 inches of water in the store and merchandise in the back was damaged a pair of vintage JBL studio monitors i had was damaged JAY the regional manager was their the day i redeemed the speakers and saw the damage. He admitted they had a flood and did not notify customers. he offered me $100 for something that was cost me $450 to replace. One sales rep told me they were giving customers back TV's that came in for pawn in a box the TV back with no box(because it was soaked from the flood. He was laughing at the fact no customer said anything and he said we got away with it. And laughed again. if I could give negative stars I would, run else where!!!! poor customer service have been a return customer and after todays visit ill be sure to go to gendrons or any other pawn shop in the area for that matter. Every time I've gone in and been served by the women who works at this location or worked there has been no problems or issues but the tall man there today told me he would give me a loan for 50 dollars on my brand new bike which granted I only needed a Loan for 1 DAY and everytime I've gotten a loan through them I always pay it back and get my belongings but then after he offered me 50 proceeded to say if I come back and pay the bike off he'll give me 100 the second time. why would I loan it for 50 dollars pay the 80 or whatever back to loan it again for the full 100 the only reason im here to loan it in the first place is cuz I needed the 100 not 50 dollars long story short terrible customer service will NEVER loan through them again. read more
