We had been to a few Michaels stores in the area but we struggled to find what we needed. Since we needed at least five more bags, we decided to drop in at this location. After coming to this Michaels store I think that it will become our go-to store. This store is huge and well stocked. On top of that, the staff here is polite and knowledgeable on where their merchandise is located. Two months, four hour-long round trips, and the crystal I asked for still hasn't been replaced…read more I brought in an old Waltham for a service, a new crystal, and a new strap. I was told up front the work would exceed the watch's value -- honest advice I appreciated -- and went ahead anyway. A month of silence followed (my phone number had been entered wrong). The strap never arrived. When I finally picked the watch up, the crystal hadn't been replaced either. Instead someone had buffed the old plastic -- never requested, never discussed, nowhere on the work order -- and charged me about $35. They credited that $35 toward the crystal, so I drove back and left the watch again. Weeks later it returned untouched. Not a backlog: their in-house watchmaker had it in hand, did nothing, and sent it back with "replace crystal?" written across a work order that already said to replace the crystal. At pickup, the owner volunteered "yeah, I buffed it" from across the shop, then raised his voice when I responded. He told me I was repeating myself, argued the watch wasn't technically late, and corrected me on his own vacation length. I asked for a refund of the $35 for work I never authorized. He flatly refused -- he doesn't refund "services provided." The counter staff are genuinely kind. But four trips, seven weeks, an unauthorized charge, no apology, and no accommodation is enough. I can't recommend Keegan's for watch service, crystals, or straps.

Staff is helpful, but the "greeter" was a bit spicy with her comments (really new England rough around the edges, quite off-putting. Actually CONDESCENDING). They have strict policies about back packs and bags (understandable), but the approach is HIGHLY unsavory. I can feel empathetic to small business owners. Being treated like a child is unacceptable. I understand they have a business to run, but the charm in charming escaped this lovely lady. It's pricey, welcome to the Cape! But don't let that detract you from scavenger hunting. Just be like a duck and let the unsavoriness of a "greeter" with poor greeting skills turn you off. Just hold on to your bag, don't break anything and enjoy your visit!
