You will find a warm and sincere welcome. It is our desire to encourage one another in the love…read moreand truth of Jesus Christ our Lord. Believers simply call one another brothers and sisters in the Lord. (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 3:12-14; 10:25) You will find a simple worship service that is based on the teaching and practice of the New Testament church. Our purpose is to exalt and worship the Lord our God in such a way that pleases Him. (John 4:20-24; Hebrews 12:28-29) You will find no cold and formal rites said in some foreign tongue. Neither will you find the assembly in confusion as a number of people are speaking or praying at the same time. (Colossians 2:20-23; 1 Corinthians 14:9-19) You will observe that our worship music is acappella (non-instrumental). Why? The worship of God before the redeeming death of Jesus not only used musical instruments, but other types of instruments as well. Alters, lamp stands, animal sacrifices and musical instruments were used to draw near to God. However, the atoning work of Jesus on the cross set aside these instruments and Jesus became the only needed "instrument" in approaching God. (Hebrews 9:1-12) In the New Testament there is not one single reference to the church using a musical instrument. There are scriptures that teach us to sing acappella (Ephesians 5:19-20; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 13:15). By using our lips, our voices, our hearts, our minds, no other music is needed or desired by the Lord. You will observe that we break the bread and drink the cup of communion each Sunday. The Lord's Supper was establishment by the Lord himself on the eve of His death on the cross. (Matthew 26:26-29) The church began to observe communion each Sunday and is the focal point of our worship service (Acts 20:7). If you are a baptized believer, you are encouraged to take communion. As the Lord's Supper is being served, each believer is encouraged to examine their life in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 11:23-34) You will observe that we take up a monetary collection. The money is used by the church to support its many missions and programs. Church members are taught to cheerfully give a tithe each Sunday. A tithe is an amount that each Christian voluntarily decides to give from their income. (1 Corinthians 16:1-3; 2 Corinthians 9:7-8) You will observe that all our teaching and preaching is founded in God's Word. The Bible is our only authority and is relevant to our living a God pleasing Christian life. (2 Timothy 3:14-17; 4:1-4) You will observe that an invitation is given at the end of each service to anyone who needs to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord or to those believers needing prayer. To receive Christ as one's Savior, the Bible teaches that each one should publicly confess, repent, and be baptized.
