Conversation with Irene was fun and it was great getting to know her a little better while she worked on my lashes. She communicated everything during the whole process so I always knew what was happening next. She's got one of those personalities that brings you comfort and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. These lashes make me feel so beautiful and OMG they save me so much time when I'm getting ready in the morning. Not only are my lashes always fire, but I don't even have to put on mascara - Talk about waking up with sexy eyes every morning but with zero effort! That alone is worth every penny. The salon was easy to find in the Cape and super cute. Crystal chandeliers, silver/ white/ neutral colors decorated the walls. She left my hair processing for over 45 minutes. My friend found her outside in back. She had been late to start, then lost track of the time. Really?! She insisted repeatedly that "it only needs a toner, let me do it " when I told her the results were not what we had discussed. Multiple professionals from other well known reputable salons were shocked at the damage to what had been my virgin hair from one visit, and were very clear that a "toner" would Not have come anywhere near correcting the damage, never mind give me the color I was looking for. The inside of the salon was low light with walls painted black. She specifically said she used Olaplex. She lied. She couldn't tell me what color she had used on my hair when I asked repeatedly. I'm wondering if it was something left over from someone else. My initial "new client" visit was supposed to be at a discount (according to my friend who booked it). She charged me $50 higher than I pay Now for more service at a high end salon, and still recorded it on her record as some kind of deal. In my world we call that cooking the books. The salon is licensed but the address has no record of a license in her name. Being late, losing track of time, being unable to remember what product was used, severely damaging someone's hair, knocking things over (combs in a dry cup went flying), lying about rates... That is behavior that is be typical of someone who is not competent.
