The barn owner/manager, Carol, puts all of the horses in the barn before her own needs. Any time my horse has had a medical concern or need she has gone above and beyond for him. She does not charge extra for hay, she allows them to have hay whenever they want. She also does not charge extra for blanketing, medical care, etc. My horse is an extremely hard keeper and Carol does EVERYTHING she can to help me find the perfect mix of grain/forage for him. He gets what he needs, no matter what lengths Carol has to go to provide it for him. There are a variety of feeds to choose from that she supplies and she can get pretty much anything you need. My horse has had a few feed changes as we figure out what will work best for him. I think one of my favorite things is that my horse gets fed three times per day versus only 2, at no extra cost. The atmosphere of the barn is friendly and relaxing. I felt welcome here from day 1. My horse has been very happy here. The turnout does get limited during poor weather to preserve the good grazing fields but there is a sacrifice field and you are welcome to put your horse out providing the pasture conditions are not dangerous for horses to be out. If conditions permit, the horses are able to go out. I also like that most of the stalls have dutch doors so they can stick their heads out and get fresh air. Lessons are affordable and I love the trainer, Rachel.

Yes, not all the bedding is taken out of the stall during the cleaning shifts. The bedding is sifted to remove all the wet spots and feces. New bedding is then put back in. Don't you typically sift a cats litter box instead of constantly dumping the entire box? A horses stall is the same concept. That could be the reason she didn't make it longer than a few days. Stalls are also picked twice a day. Horses are fed hay pretty much every time they sick their heads out of the stall. There are also pretty every type of Nutrena safe choice feed you can imagine. The owner will also bring in any type of feed to ensure the horse maintains their weight. Any horse fed 2 or more pounds of feed automatically get a 3rd feeding, again at no additional charge. The horses are blanket appropriately during the winter. No the horses did not always go out every day. That decision is based on weather and the conditions of the fields. If it's super muddy, the kind that can do ligament damage kind if mud, no they do not go out. If it's -20 degrees, no they do not go out. The staff and owner will put boots on for turnout and take them off as the horse directs at no extra cost. The owner is willing to sleep on a concrete floor all night to make sure a horse won't colic. The barn owner is very willing to help many of the local rescues by taking in starvation cases to help fatten these poor animals back up. Would the rescues reach out to this owner if the care was horrible? Also, if this barn owner is as bad as Jessica W. say, why is the barn completely full with a wait list? Would many of the boarders still be at this barn after 1, 2, or 4 plus years if everything was as bad as Jessica says it is? I wouldn't still be there if my horse wasn't being cared for. Maybe there's a reason why she didn't make it workng there.

This is a huge event, physically, taking up most of the fairgrounds for three weeks; and a huge…read moreevent, culturally, one of the largest horse shows in the world. People come from all over to compete. I live right down the road, and am not into horses so never bothered to go. But Baby K is, so we went to check it out. $25 parking per car but free entry, and it looks like you could park on 17th closer to campus, maybe OHS, maybe up off Hudson, etc., and really not walk much farther than you do from the fair lot and just go in. Loads of vendors, with tack, trinkets, trailers, and more. A puppy building, for sale but with owners eager to show them off to kids. Two arenas, with tons of seating, good views and sound. And a strip of fair food. You can watch the shows, go to the practice corrals just outside and see the horses close up, have a roast beef sundae, and get a souvenir. A fun family day for just about anybody, and if you are into horses absolutely come check it out.

There are multiple events and these are world class animals and competitors, it not just some local Ohio farm thing. I came for the PBR Professional Bull Riding event in 2021. We were treated to an Ohio native, Eli Vastbinder - a PRCA ProRodeo competitor- winning the event, and the points he gathered helped carry him into the world finals competition. The All American Quarter Horse Congress show is the Ohio State Fiargrounds and Expo Center like you've never seen it! Well worth a visit.

There was a kind and instructive staff member who helped us get in and out of the kayaks. She provided a route for us as well. I did notice when we got out of the kayaks she was thoroughly inspecting them, possibly for any cracks or holes. We already had a blast but knowing they are being very careful will make me a repeat customer. We paid $30 for a one hour ride. I felt like that was a very fair price. It was beaming hot and the route had little to no shade so do dress appropriately if you are visiting in the summer.

She looked like she didn't want to be there, and didn't enjoy being around children or interacting with them at all. She also didn't take the time to help my child improve her skills, which I thought was the whole point of an instructor?! Considering the steep cost, this is clearly not worth it. My child was so discouraged she no longer wants to go. Maybe another class would be a better fit, but I think the overall atmosphere is not a good fit for us. We're looking to have fun while learning new skills, and it seems that others have Olympic ambitions and the serious attitude that comes with it. Perhaps this place is focused on their star programs and not everyday children who want to have fun while learning the basics.
