I am now in my 30's and while I no longer live in the area I still come back every now and then. The family owned and run store is the best, and the people are friendly . When I was 10 I tripped over a curb infront of the store and hit my head splitting it open. The owner came out and took me inside and held a towel on my head until I was taken to the hospital. Generally caring people that have been in the community for a long time. While the area has changed a lot and the people in the area are not the same this store and the owners have not changed.

I remembered this store on the northeast corner of Kennedy Road and Finch Avenue. I had never been there. It was time to pay it a visit. I drove down Kennedy Road after having seen my dentist. I made a left-hand turn into the Esso station. All parking spots in front of Circle K were occupied, except for the spot for those with an accessibility parking pass. Instead, I pulled off to the side, closest to the gas station sign on Finch Avenue. I then walked over. This store is large. It has a lot of products to absorb. I saw Atypique non-alcoholic cocktails. I can see myself cracking one open as I start a road trip because I want to feel fancy... haha! Tim Hortons is at the back when you first walk in and stare ahead. To the right of it are the Polar Pop and Froster machines. The payment area is on the left. This store was doing steady business, which was nice to see. I got AriZona teas. I like that there was fruit punch and mango. I typically get green tea and watermelon. I welcomed the change. I also needed peanuts. I found them where you enter the lineup to pay for your items. The man at the counter was friendly and he anticipated that I had coupons. "Ah, Rock, Paper, and Scissors (game) is back!" he said. "Yes, I'm happy!" I exclaimed with perhaps too much enthusiasm. He asked me if I needed a bag. I was okay saving one and carrying my stuff to my car. I scanned my coupon barcodes. I then scanned my PC Optimum barcode and paid with my debit card. He thanked me and wished me a great day. I reciprocated. It's nice that my fridge looks like a mini Circle K store again. I can't wait to try the mango drink later on today. I like this store equally as much as the one on Steeles Avenue East, across from Walmart. Distance-wise, they are pretty close to being equidistant from my home. I can't go wrong either way. I have nothing against the Shopper's Drug Mart (except for it's long ass lines and sometimes disgruntled cashiers), it's because I like to feel a part of a community. Now, these guys don't have the greatest selection of all time and the prices aren't the most fantastic. It's the two owners of this store that keep me coming back. They greet meet and I greet them. They smile sincerely. They genuinely are appreciative of my business - and on more than one occasion will ask me questions about my life outside of the rectangular store. And that works? You bet your ass it does! As long as I'm living in Dovercourt, this is my convenience store!
