Miller Park is also a place for other recreational activities such as shooting hoops and walking. Has a playground to entertain young children. There's also a lake that has a cool bridge that makes for classic scenery. An interesting history about it. It's the largest park in the city to be sure. The park is best known for the zoo. Actually it has an interesting history itself. The zoo has its own business page on Yelp. As for the rest of the park, there's other stuff worth exploring. There's a pretty big lake. Go take a walk across the stone bridge. The park also has a mini golf course and softball fields among other things. Also check out a preserved steam locomotive. There's also a pavilion for those wanting to have a picnic. Has lots of activities throughout the year including festivals and fireworks. It's located east of Morris Avenue and south of Wood Street. They also have entertainment such as outdoor theater.

There were no signs regarding age, so I saw no reason to refuse. There was another little boy about three back there, too. Both of them got up in the structure, couldn't see their mom and grandma and wanted to come out. The complexity of the structure made it confusing to find their way out and they both started screaming for us and panicked. The man at the front desk just kept on reading his book or phone and ignored the chaos. I am way too old to try to climb up into the thing so I was lucky that the young mother retrieved her son then went after my little guy. Much better supervision is needed there. I won't be back.

Ergadoozy has tons of open area to encourage her to take some independent steps! The little shopping carts she loves to hold onto and walk so while it's not totally independent, we'll take it, lol. We got the 6 month pass and it's already paid for itself with how often we've gone. I haven't had any other issues with kids or parents and everyone has been so polite, even helping my daughter stand back up when their kids might bump into her while playing. It's so nice to have a space for kids to be kids! It can be loud and busy, so if you aren't a fan of that maybe go later in the evening on weekdays when it's slower. I love that kids can run around yelling and be kids in a safe environment. It's also great for her to try new toys so we're building a nice Christmas list every time we go, lol. There's a gift shop inside too so we try to steer her away from that.

Well kept, clean, and lots of up close experience with animals. This is owned by Champaign Park district. It has a petting zoo with lambs, donkey, and small goat which you can visit from 3-5 pm everyday. Otherwise you can see horses, pigs, peacock, chickens, and even turtles. There is a small playground area off to the side that little ones will like. All and all fun for little kids and best of all free! Donations accepted to help feed the animal if you feel incline. As…read morefar as I know, this used to be an actual farm but got changed into a farm zoo of sorts when the area started to develop. Basically this establishment is run by the Champaign Park District. They're open in the summer for families to stop and see farm life (horses, sheep, llamas, ponies, cows, geese, goats, pigs, bulls, chicken, koi fish, turtles, bunnies). They even have a petting zoo and little playground for the kiddos. The petting zoo is only open from 3-5 pm though. It's not that big but neither is Champaign. When I went last (many, many years ago) it was free and accepted donations. They also doa summer program for kids who learn how to run a farm and help take care of the animals. I did this for a few years when I was a child and it was really, really fun.... Except for when you had to feed the bulls and you felt like you were walking to your death, clinging that hay to your chest while the volunteer leaders assured you it was okay but just make sure not to run away or make any sudden movements... Make sure to bring close-toed shoes, the won't let you in without them. This place may have changed SIGNIFICANTLY since I've been there last (which was in the 90's..) but I remember it being a wonderful summer spot as a kid.
