The whole park is nice - clean, well kept, both paved trails and gravel lined trails, well-built steps, and quality railings where steps are located. There is a paved trail that goes to the tower, as well as an unpaved trail that is a good uphill climb. The tower looks neat, and we would have loved to climb it, but it was closed. There is a big fence with a locked door around it. This was a bummer for me - the websites that I found describing the park had said that the park was open year-round, which I (wrongly) thought included the tower. I do understand - it is an unseasonably warm winter, and most people aren't going hiking or climbing giant towers in March. I was just disappointed. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our time there - both the hiking and learning about fire safety in the area.

When the "cashier" finally came around the corner, she said, "Can I help you?" with an incredulous tone. Hmmm? Why else would some one come into a museum. I said, "I am a member of Time Travelers and you were on their list." She snapped, "I've never heard of them. It's $4 dollars to view the museum." Again, with the rude tone, which is too bad. The price was certainly cheap enough. So standing in the doorway of their one room "museum', I decided I had seen enough. It's really too bad when staff "shuts the door" on potential customers.

Rowe Funeral Home inflated our family's bills for cremation at a sad time when we assumed we didn't…read morehave a choice. They sent us an estimate for my Mom's service in January 2024 for $3,720. This amount includes $3470 for Professional Services. Their only service was to call Yoder Cremation in Kansas, where our Mom had passed away. Yoder charges $895 for cremation. So the phone call and paperwork by Rowe Funeral Home would cost $2,575. We had her body moved to Affordable Cremations Plus where a cremation costs $875 total! I called Rowe Funeral Home and told them I was disappointed in their dishonest business practices and they said they would have the owner call me, but they never did. We were going through my Mom's paperwork, which shows they also scammed my Mom for $1,785 for Professional Services when my Dad passed away in 2012. $1,785 to call a crematorium? I guess the lesson learned is to make sure you understand funeral home charges and determine if they are reasonable.
