Review Visit: October 11th, 2014…read more A small fun gem in Bloomington. My dad and I came here after exploring Bloomington and it was one of our last stops. It was a great way to end a fun day. Bloomington has a ton of parks and this one is on the nicer side of them. Opened up in 2012, this park is still in really great shape and it is nestled in a great community/sub-division. The park offers your typical playground, easy access to 'Gaelic Lake', walking paths that are relaxing to traverse and a nearby soccer field. The path/bridge over to Gaelic Lake really helps elevate the niceness of the park and helps amplify the peacefulness. If you catch yourself in Bloomington and want to spend a nice day at a quite park, Gaelic is sure to fulfill that. Small playground but a huge walking area, so if you need some alone time, you can go wander while the kids play on the playground.

It's got a wide open space for soccer, football, and other field events. It has 3 half court basketball courts, a small baseball/t-ball field, and a playground. The playground is pretty large with one area for smaller kids and another area for bigger kids. In the middle of all of this is a winding stream with a grasslands area and a beautiful bridge between the lake and the stream.

There's also a large grassy area that's used for soccer on the weekends and basketball courts. On the perimeter, there's a running/bike path that's probably 1/4 mile and is rarely busy.

The city has literally 7+ parks, if I am seeing this map right. But what sets this one apart from the others? Space. This park is relatively bigger than a standard park. It has basketball courts, a volleyball sand pit area, a playground, a gazebo for parties and openness. I didn't spend a whole lot of time here, but I enjoyed every second of it. The leaves were changing colors, the weather was just right. It was a nice visit. I just enjoy the openness of this park. If you find yourself in Bloomington, there are quiet a few nice parks to visit. McGraw Park and Holiday Park are two you should definitely check out, if you have kids and they love parks... or if you are a kid at heart like myself.

The park has basketball hoops, volleyball court, and a wonderful playground. My kids love this park. There is also a covered area next to the playground with picnic tables, which is a great place to enjoy a group meal.
