Had the best time at the hotel...everyone was fantastic! Love walking to the town and walking around the shops and eating Moo Cow ice cream. Looking forward to returning soon!

One of the most stunningly beautiful courses I've ever played, and I've played Pebble. Amazing. It does eat a lot of your golf balls, tho!

Review Highlights - Fairmont Château Whistler Golf Course

Rude management at the front desk. Pace of play was slow due to a tournament so we called and asked…read moreif there was a possibility for a partial refund. The front desk representative told us to come back and talk to them. Then when we got there they told us that there was no such refund to be had, and that they're sorry we felt we needed to come back in early. Seemed like a poorly handled situation considering we just paid $600+ for 2 people to play, and didn't even get through 14 holes in 3 1/2 hours.

We caught the course the day after a huge rainstorm passed through the area, and were on paths only for this round. The range was on mats, and every strike threw buckets of water from the artificial turf up into our faces. It was WET. We ended up spending most of our warmup on the practice green, and that was a good thing, because even in late May, they were rolling fast. The course itself is beautiful. Many, many memorable holes. Fairways are generally wide enough, and the rough was lush without being overly penal. Lots of water in play, but it's manageable if you pick the right spots to miss, and there are very few forced-carry situations. I'd read that the wind can sometimes rip through here, and we certainly experienced that. I am generally in the 260-275 driving category, and on some holes I struggled to poke it out there to 190 with the big stick. Makes for some long par 5's when you are playing into the wind. On the other hand, it also gives you the opportunity to play some fun shots you might not otherwise... stingers, bump and runs, and so on. Overall this is a really fun, fair test. The conditioning, even on a wet weekend, was just awesome, and the facilities are terrific. A definite must-play on a Whistler golf getaway.

I didn't play well here but still I consider this to be an easy course. The fairways are wide and forgiving. If you can (and that's a big IF for me!) keep your drive relatively straight, you can pretty much pin back your ears and wale away! I like Whistler golf course. Right in the heart of the Whistler area this course stands as a testament to man's desire to be perfect! Easy as it is we still can't play the perfect game! In golf the goal is to minimize and mitigate your errors... even on an easy course like Whistler golfer have to manage their mistakes. The course was in excellent shape. The fairways were green and flowing. The greens were a bit on the hard side (or maybe it's that I don't have a high trajectory on my balls), I couldn't keep too many approach shots on the putting surface. The bunkers were excellent. As my friend said... 'it's nice to know when you pay over $100 for the green fee there is sand in the bunkers!' Haha! Whistler golf course is very flat and walkable. I was lazy and carted but on a nice day it's a perfect walk in the park. I recommend Whistler Golf Course to all golf lovers. It's a beauty and a joy to play!

Whistler Olympic Park - Shoot a real biathlon rifle during the biathlon experience, available in the winter season and from late June until early September!

We rented our snowshoes from the main lodge, which also had cross country ski rentals (apparently 90km of cross country trails, whatever that is in miles), snowboards, tobogganing, and so many more wintery things that are completely separate from my understanding of normal outdoor activities. I mean, where else can you find biathlon lessons? Obviously the surrounding area is gorgeous in winter, a wonderland of quiet white stillness, forests and forests of evergreens, and creek beds lined with powdery snow and ice. There are frequent signs and maps to keep you oriented along the snowshoeing trails, which was great for us noobs. You can do anything from short out-and-back trips to several miles of strenuous trails. One star docked because I thought the snowshoes were pretty pricey for a rental - a flat rate of $16 regardless of the time you spend with them. They definitely did not seem to be in high demand either as there were dozens of pairs behind the register. Maybe instead do an hourly rate instead? This is in addition to a per-person entry fee to the park. Also, some of the cross county skiers were surprisingly rude when we stepped on their track - I get we were in the wrong, but have a little grace and chill out just a bit.

The gun is surprisingly easy to shoot and aim compared to a "real" rifle (hello, confidence booster). I could've stayed out there all day shooting.

It's a trek to get there, even after you park, but so worth it. We started with 9 of the "bottom" 18 so we could stay close to the trail when it started pouring. Heard the upper 9 are incredible, fun to throw downhill a stretch. On those we did it could often be tricky to find the basket behind the course's rolling rock hills and swaths of trees. Inevitably someone would see the next basket or tonal and paths were well laid to follow through to the next launch pad.

I brought my discs to Whistler specifically to try out this course, and I was not disappointed!…read more There are 27 holes, and after two trips I was still not able to complete them all. The holes cover varied terrain, and most of them have a long and short distance to the hole (if you really want more challenge). I didn't find it difficult to move from hole to hole, as there are arrows pointing in the correct direction, and maps of each hole at the start. There's a porta-potty at the halfway point of the course, and some maps scattered throughout. Overall this is a really fun course, and I'm glad I made time to visit while on vacation. I'm taking off a star because the course itself was super difficult to find. We wandered on foot from the Valley Trail for a while, and found one sign that led to a fork with no further direction. We didn't fare much better in a vehicle, and ended up parking in a random lot. I saw a sign in some of the trails that was pointing to "Disc Golf Parking" but there were no signs when driving in by car.

I really appreciated being able to get the repair taken care of so quickly, especially while spending time in Whistler and wanting to keep enjoying the trails. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Having an accident and then needing a bike repair can put a damper on your day, but their welcoming approach made the experience much easier. I felt comfortable bringing my bike to them, and their knowledge gave me confidence that it was in capable hands. The same-day service was a big highlight for me. Getting my bike repaired quickly meant I could get back to enjoying my time in Whistler without a lengthy interruption. That kind of help makes a real difference when you're relying on your bike to get around and explore. I also appreciated supporting a local shop. There's something reassuring about dealing with people who know bikes and are part of the community where you're riding. Evolution delivered the combination I was hoping for: friendly service, knowledgeable people, and a quick repair. I'm grateful for their help after my little Valley Trail mishap and would happily recommend Evolution to anyone needing bike service in Whistler. Thanks for getting my Trek sorted out the same day!

We heard this was the spot to rent downhill bikes - the hype was justified!…read more The team here gets all your personal stats to adjust the bikes to suit you and your riding style (suspension, reach, and chainstays on the V10) so everything is ready to go when you pick them up. Our bikes were current generation Santa Cruz V10s. They came equipped with Fox 40 & rear coil, SRAM X0 drivetrain, Maven brakes, and Assegai/DHR tires with proper DH casings. The bikes were absolutely dialed and we had a blast riding everything from A-Line to double black tech with them. I've been on rental bikes in the past that were clapped and had soft brakes or wonky derailleurs - that was not the situation here at all. The crew was helpful making some last minute adjustments and locked the bikes up so we could sit down for lunch somewhere. One of the crew (maybe the owner?) also had some great recs for taking our bikes out in Whistler Valley on one of the days we weren't riding the park. We'll be renting from then the next time we visit. Highly recommend!
