If you want to get jerked around Fair max is the bankruptcy firm for you, they are horrible they don't call you back, I had appointments with them and they wouldn't show up they did that at least 4 times, eventually they told me they couldn't do my chapter 7 only chapter 13, they said the attorney has been doing this for many years and I didn't qualify for chapter 7 thankfully I called someone else who didn't jerk me around I went somewhere else he was always available to speak to me he filed my chapter 7 and as of today it's been approve. This is the WORSE Law Firm I've ever dealt with. It's totally impossible to get in contact with anyone. They act as though you're bothering them when you finally do talk to them. I have read all of the reviews and I totally agree with some. This law firm is horrible! They assigned Louisa as my case manager and I asked questions that was important and I got an answer of, "I don't know". I had to ask for another case manager. The case manager they assigned me was much much better. After my case was filed, my bank account was immediately closed along with my deposits and paycheck being held. I was not told this would happen. That same day, I received a text message from the firm saying I have to make the court fees payment very soon. I told them my monies are being withheld with my bank. The firm said I needed to contact my bank and talk that over with them and set up another form of payment to pay my balance or my case would be dropped. I immediately called my bank to ask why my monies are being withheld and I was told that I needed to contact my legal team. I then called the firm back and told them what was going on and that I needed my funds released immediately so I could pay my rent and I got the reaction of basically whatever. I told the firm I needed this done expeditiously as my rent is due now. I was told they would have someone call me back today. I waited. The next day, I called the firm back to find out what's going on and was told the exact same thing, someone would get back to me today or Monday. I waited again. Called the bank only to find out the firm had not even contacted them yet. So now. Im stuck with no bank account, no money, can't pay my bills, my rent is going to be 4 days late with a $50.00 late charge and once again, I'm angry and frustrated. My rent is past due now. No phone call, no email, no nothing, just a text message asking for their payment. How am I gonna pay without a bank account and no money? It's like they don't even care!!! Im not getting any satisfaction from this firm! Its been disappointment after disappointment and I'm regretting my decision to even retain this firm!!!! read more

DO NOT do business with these people. I set an appointment and waited all week for it. They called 15 minutes before the appointment, while I was still at work and then at the time of the appointment, they told me they were not available. Not even an apology whatsoever. They have allowed garnishment to continue even after the case was filed. Lack of communication, then expecting the customer to pay extra for them to retrieve the garnished money, when the attorney knew they were still garnishing and didn't try to stop it, is poor business. The worst law firm to handle your bankruptcy. The lawyers never call to answer your questions. The case manager Gene is so unprofessional my case was refile 4 times because of his errors. I paid over 2000 dollars to file bankruptcy, the first time they screwed the paper work up, the second time they lied and told me they filed it and didnt. told me in November of 23 everything was all set and ready to go, and that I should receive my paperwork in the mail. come January I have nothing, so I call them, and... well they did t do THEIR job. The tried to get me to pay and file again, I demanded my money back, and they offer me 300.00 dollars to shut me up. not going to work. I'm reaching out to the BBB. they played me for a fool when I was just trying to get my credit right. So I am now paying my credit off myself, and they have slammed my credit report with two derogatory remarks, and took my score down. they never answer calls, or call you back. The entire office staff needs a customer service course, and the owner Michael Jaafar needs to learn to be an honest person instead of a lying money hungry lawyer who is out for himself and not to truly help others. it's almost sad I. this world that people are trying to do better, and then you have these company's that don't give a shit about you but want your money. FAIRMAX LAW IS THE WORST. I would never NEVER NEVER EVER refer someone to this law firm, not even my worst enemy. read more
