On Track's collection spans decades and genres of music (yes, even country) - that is how passionate he is about music. Some may disagree, but his expertise is in 80s (all genres) and Reggae/Dancehall. My wedding music was so great, even the front desk staff and other hotel staff was having a blast. They couldn't stop talking about the music. I live in NY now and have been trying to find someway to get him up here to play for our company events. You won't go wrong with this DJ.

No problem for Tent Guys- we kept in touch, contact price was honored and everything was done perfectly. They made suggestions I wasn't aware I needed, such as early set up and take down. It didn't cost extra and it saved me a ton of headaches. They arrived right on time, set up a gigantic tent and all the extras right in my yard and left without leaving any sign other than a gorgeous tent. Guests were so impressed. I got tables, chairs, drapes, fans, dance floor and lighting as well. I truly do not have a single negative remark. The tent was removed quickly without lawn damage or any sign of huge party. Entertainment and getting people on the dance floor was one of our main concerns for the reception. I've literally been telling everyone I know about it and how I could probably spend the rest of my life just laying in bed in some virtual reality, that's how awesome it was! I tried the VR experience where you are on a sunken ship at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by fish, and a whale swims by you. It was so real! I felt completely transported even though I was in a room full of people. The way it works is you get to choose which experience you want, they have tons including interactive games and more observatory experiences like the one I did. You get set up with noise cancelling headphones and the VR headset and you're free to go. For mine you could walk around a 10'x10' space and explore. I honestly can't recommend it enough! I enjoyed my time so much that I immediately booked them for an event for work. David is great to work with, super responsive, and makes sure to cover everything. They're even more affordable than I was imagining. We work on a pretty tight budget and were able to get everything we wanted. Now I'm contemplating finding space for them at my wedding too!

So that annual rite of spring, Alive After 5 (AA5), is the quintessential social event that snaps…read moreus out of those winter blues with some live music, flowing adult beverages and enough people watching to make a person OD, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Now this is a business. It actually serves a few markets - Charlotte and Jacksonville, Florida. There are sponsors that aid in the promotions via Paschal Promotions and bands are book via East Cost Entertainment. In Charlotte, they have events in the Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) Plaza, EpiCenter, and also Piedmont Town Center (which I cannot personally write about at this time as I haven't attended any events at the last location). The first 4 weeks kickoff in the Wells Fargo Plaza and though the weather can be a bit unpredictable at times and the temperature bordering on chilly, it is a great time mainly for the fact the space is very wide open and people watching is at its best. Paschal Promotions actually uses the elevated space at the far side of the courtyard for VIP, so add in space for the band and plenty of room to move around and this is what many folks I've talked to has said is the best venue for this event. I was actually there last night and people were lamenting that it was moving to EpiCenter in May and that it will be too crowded and the average age will drop significantly. Basically they were saying that April is the best and the rest is a hit or miss. Sorry EpiCenter, but you evidently have a bad wrap with the older crowd in the Queen City when it comes to this event. There are multiple beer stands and you can even purchase mixed drinks. The event is free to enter and serves as the largest "happy hour" in the city, though it isn't really a happy hour (i.e. drink specials) as beers cost from $5 to $6 a bottle....liquor I haven't a clue? It is a fun and casual atmosphere and since it is located in the center city, once the event ends at 10pm sharp. I say sharp because last night at 10:03pm security was literally using bullhorns with sirens to get folks to leave........very uncool. Of course once you leave you have plenty of great restaurants, bars, and even some shopping depending upon how late you stay. Official After Parties occur at several locations during these events (Whisky River, Suite, and BlackFinn, but only if you have your wristbands on, so remember kiddies, don't tear them off because if you keep them on you will be granted free entry into these after parties. They have a website which you can check out the band line-up, where to park, and look at picture. In addition you can even sign up for a mailing list or even follow them on Twitter. Finally, the people watching is priceless. There are a lot of beautiful people that do dress up nicely and attend this event and plenty of folks looking for love......or something that resembles certain aspects of love....or......well, I'll stop there...you get the point. So if you haven't ventured out on a Thursday in the Center City, then check out Alive After 5 (at the EpiCenter starting in May) and have a drink on me!

He drinks beer, so I figured he would have plenty to drink. When we first got there right at 8, the venue seemed almost empty. We walked around and found the VIP area. I thought it might be just a bar with liquor, turns out it was this swanky place. The only hinge was that my husband, being non-VIP, couldn't come in. I had to talk to him over a rope, which was a down turn of the night. I didn't like the separation at all. The alcohol in the VIP area was amazing! I love me some Jack Daniels Honey and most bars don't normally have it. This one did, and I was set! So excited! The food was also great! They had a carving station with rolls and mozzarella on a stick with tomatoes and olives. So good. We did venture to the food area around the corner, and it was ok. I have been to most of the restaurants from the food vendors and I know their food is better than what they had. After talking to a bartender, she said they were setting up all day, so I'm wondering was the food there just too early? It tasted old, and most of what should have been hot wasn't. I just hope some people don't judge these restaurants by what they had available. At about 10 it got to be too crowded. The stage area was full and there were just people everywhere so we left. Overall great night for a great cause. The vendors were more than generous, I think next time we might just have to splurge for the upgrade VIP :).

Through its annual holiday party and other yearly events, Second String Santa raises money and delivers thousands of gifts and school supplies to needy children in our area. The 2009 event occurred at the NBA Bobcats Arena in the city of Charlotte. This formal event involved complimentary beer and wine along with catered food. For $100, a VIP section was available in the PSL section of the arena. As I'm constantly reminded by folks in town....this IS a small town, so this was one of the biggest social events of the year at least as it pertains from a charity perspective. The annual event has a $30 cover charge plus provide a toy for a child. When I attended this event last week, there were a massive amount of huge cardboard boxes filling up with toys beyond the registration desk....quite an incredible scene. It is always nice to know that my time and money.........and drinking can attribute to a childs happiness..........hmmmm...that didn't quite come out right, but nonethelesss, I had a great time. The hours were from 7pm until 11pm with last call at 10:30pm. The event had an after party at Suite which allowed for dancing that didn't occur at the event. A great way to get dressed up and do it for a good cause. Check it out in 2010.
