We traveled from out of state and quickly learned that Wake Forest is a really pretty and serene area. Contrary, there aren't super close walking distance shops or restaurants. There are, however, Ubers available. If you rent a car, there is complimentary parking at this hotel in a nice sized parking lot. Staff work the front desk 27/7 which is another huge benefit. Upon checking in, text messages from staff will start to appear which are simple check points asking how your stay is and if any assistance is required. I appreciated this small detail because I felt as if help was at my fingertips if I needed it. The interior is very clean and while there is no onsite restaurant, there is a fully stocked market at the desk containing various chips, crackers, popcorn, beverages and some snack boxes with meat and cheese. There is always complimentary coffee and tea sitting out. In addition, breakfast comes with your stay and it runs from 7 am - 10 am. We thought the breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast and enjoyed the pancakes, sausages, oatmeal, fruits and milk. Another favorable onsite space was the exterior patio. Coming from a colder climate, we spent most of our Saturday on the lovely patio couch soaking up the sun and beautiful forest trees. The entire backyard is serene and private which we appreciated. There are many board games inside which you are welcome to bring outside or play at tables indoors. To get the pieces to the games, visit the front desk. While there is an indoor pool and workout room, we did not take advantage of either. Near the elevators, there is a whiteboard that lists various favorites in Wake Forest by categories such as bars, retail therapy, dinner spots and brunch. This was a fun creative touch to see traveling from out of state. As for the rooms, they are boxy and small. We appreciated how clean the rooms were and cleaning service is done every other day unless requested for more. Overall, the staff here is top notch and for a boutique hotel, were always available. We felt very safe here and even took advantage of some of the small walking paths and walked to Target. Thank you, Tru by Hilton!!

I Facetimed my wife just so we could laugh at how pitiful the place was. The bathroom shower had no lip or raised edge to it, which would normally not be an issue had it not been for the fact that the shower curtain ended about 3 feet off the floor. After my shower, there was more water in the rest of the bathroom than in the actual shower itself. This resulted in me nearly busting my backside not once, but twice trying to navigate to the sink. Hard pass!

The hotel is just off of the main drag tucked back amongst the trees. It's very easy to get to and also incredibly quiet at the same time. The staff was friendly and attentive. I arrived a couple hours early after my flight into the city and they were nice enough to check me into my room a couple hours early of their listed check-in time. The room was excellent, very clean and quite spacious. The room offered a comfy king size bed, couch, desk, mini-fridge, microwave, TV, Iron and toiletries. It was truly the best nights of sleep I've gotten in a while. The hotel offers free continental breakfast every morning. They spread is quite impressive, offering pretty much everything I could ever want in a breakfast. I even took some extra back to my room for a cheap little lunch. I had a wonderful weekend visiting the "research triangle" thanks to Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Raleigh North - Wake Forest and will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.

On top of this I had a toddler with me who needs to watch or do something all the time they hadn't given us a remote to the TV. Our cards stopped working after one time making us having to replace our cards every time we left the room. My 18 year old daughter got swimmers itch from the pool and my toddler the same. Thr morning breakfast has all that you need and stays stocked and the staff ensures the area is clean. The ONLY issue we had was a foul odor in our bathroom that they were unable to mediate which I'm sure was a sewer pipe issue but we were able to live with it using air freshener and keeping the bathroom door closed. For a tip: our kids LOVE swimming but this hotel has a seasonal pool so if you are coming during the winter months there is no pool access. Overall this place was very good. We would return. The hotel still benefits from a great location in the North Hills area of Raleigh, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the open parking lot is convenient. I also appreciated the ability to check in early and choose my room, which made the arrival process smooth. However, the property is clearly showing its age, from the worn hallway carpet and dated furniture to the old-style key card entry system. The older furniture also had noticeable stains on the cocktail and end tables, which took away from the overall feel of the room. Housekeeping missed a Tupperware container of ice cream left in the freezer, and there were small inconveniences like narrow, undersized trash cans. The TV setup was frustrating--two televisions but only one remote, no guide feature, and poor reception with constant interference. Although I reported the issue and staff followed up saying it was fixed, the problem continued throughout my stay. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, and I liked the firm pillows. While I didn't use the indoor pool, the dedicated pool elevator is a thoughtful touch that keeps swimmers from having to walk through the lobby. Overall, while the location and a few amenities still stand out, the condition of the hotel and some service oversights made this a disappointing return visit.

Let's hit the good: - This location is GREAT for conferences and meetings. Rooms galore. - Huge dining area - Decent gym - The salad I had was really good (they forgot my meal the first time) - Bartender guy was friendly The bad: - Well, a roach on my bathroom floor walking in isn't a good start - The rooms are outdated and dark. - The mini-fridge was out in the open and in a random spot - Service for my first dining was horrible (she forgot to put in my salad so I ended up door dashing food) - The gym had no kettle bells (still, a decent gym) - Parking lot is confusing and undergoing construction in the front I think my roach friend also wasn't pleased. This was a below par visit so 2 stars. The entire place is way dimly lit and just feels depressing. I was depressed all the times when I was in my room and didn't even bother turning the TV on. It's important to note I was here for 9 days for work, so being depressed in the room after a long day didn't sit well with me. I don't recommend this location unless it's necessary to book meetings.

Crooked lights on the wall, paint patches, & extremely rusted, dirty, and worn down appliances in the bathrooms. It cost us $112 for the night and I truly believe we could've found a Motel 7 that was nicer than this place. The bathroom was so disgusting within 3-5mins of being in the room we knew we couldn't stay here without feeling just plain dirty. We immediately went to the front desk and requested to get a refund. The man at the front desk was nice but also a liar. He asked to see the condition of the room to see if he could give us a refund for the night. After seeing the room he told us he couldn't offer a refund because the "Hotel was fully booked for the night & maids would need to clean the room up after us before they could book the room for someone else to stay." Keep in mind the parking lot was completely empty besides maybe 1 or 2 other cars & we hadn't even unpacked, used the toilet, or laid on the bed before deciding we didn't want to stay here. Since he wouldn't offer us a refund we decided to just tough it out and not waste the money we spent to book a night in this dumpster fire hotel. We finally laid on the bed to discover there was dead spot that would cause the bed to creek loudly and massive dent in the bed that would practically roll you out of it on one side. After returning to the lobby and letting him know about the dead spot in the bed he was kind enough to let us stay in another room of this "completely booked out hotel" so that was kind of him. Overall I would never recommend this place to anyone ever. I kid you not it was so gross in here we almost contemplated sleeping in the car for the night. If the experience with the room wasn't bad enough to earn 1 star the service from the staff and having them lie to our face about the hotel being fully booked out and claiming the room was in too poor of shape to offer a refund solidified this as a 1 star experience.

Also I parked at the end of the parking lot so that if my car lights are on they are not facing anyone but some bushes and trees!! I have nothing against truck drivers my grandfather was a retired truck driver. They have drivers sleeping in their trucks in the parking lot.. But I can't sit in my car is just crazy and I'm going to keep posting and giving reviews because this is wrong. I even asked if I did anything to anyone and they said no people were just suspicious of me sitting in my car. Which if people minded their business maybe this wouldn't be happening but I know one thing they messed with the right person. I don't know how I'm suspicious when I didn't say anything to anyone, didn't bother anyone just sat in my car. The police let me go because I didn't do anything wrong besides sitting in my car. This hotel is the worst place on earth and I wouldn't recommend to a dying animal or any human being. Then I asked if I leave early due to this could I get a refund and I was told they would have to call the owner and see about it. And when I complained about the dirty bathtub they said oh you had the dnd on the door I said no the bathtub was dirty when we checked in. And then was told we have to wait til the housekeepers come back between 7am-4pm but why wasn't it clean when you rented the room. I even offered to show them pics of the day we came in the room and they said no but after looking at these reviews it's a known thing this place is dirty. And I see exactly why they have a 1 star rating if I would've known this I would have never come here. Also I do smoke and you can't smoke in the hotel so I go to my car but I can't even do that because apparently sitting in my car while being a black woman with my dog is oh soo scary!!! This place is racist I truly believe because why else would I be treated this way when they have seen me come in and out with no problems.
