We traveled from out of state and quickly learned that Wake Forest is a really pretty and serene area. Contrary, there aren't super close walking distance shops or restaurants. There are, however, Ubers available. If you rent a car, there is complimentary parking at this hotel in a nice sized parking lot. Staff work the front desk 27/7 which is another huge benefit. Upon checking in, text messages from staff will start to appear which are simple check points asking how your stay is and if any assistance is required. I appreciated this small detail because I felt as if help was at my fingertips if I needed it. The interior is very clean and while there is no onsite restaurant, there is a fully stocked market at the desk containing various chips, crackers, popcorn, beverages and some snack boxes with meat and cheese. There is always complimentary coffee and tea sitting out. In addition, breakfast comes with your stay and it runs from 7 am - 10 am. We thought the breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast and enjoyed the pancakes, sausages, oatmeal, fruits and milk. Another favorable onsite space was the exterior patio. Coming from a colder climate, we spent most of our Saturday on the lovely patio couch soaking up the sun and beautiful forest trees. The entire backyard is serene and private which we appreciated. There are many board games inside which you are welcome to bring outside or play at tables indoors. To get the pieces to the games, visit the front desk. While there is an indoor pool and workout room, we did not take advantage of either. Near the elevators, there is a whiteboard that lists various favorites in Wake Forest by categories such as bars, retail therapy, dinner spots and brunch. This was a fun creative touch to see traveling from out of state. As for the rooms, they are boxy and small. We appreciated how clean the rooms were and cleaning service is done every other day unless requested for more. Overall, the staff here is top notch and for a boutique hotel, were always available. i would give this place zero stars if i could. this post will be long! please read! first we got…read morehere february 10!! we booked til the following tuesday!! me and my teenagers got in our room and the bathtub is dirty! we are in the process of moving and our new place suddenly wasnt ready when it was supposed to be! we have a dog she is an emotional support animal with documentation. we tried to book a pet friendly hotel but they were booked. so we came here. ive been running back and forth my car and the hotel room to get my kids food and other stuff. but i also cant leave my dog in the car. so instead of asking me or letting me know there was a problem they call the police on me and nearly have me arrested because im sitting in my car with my dog!! now my car you cant turn off the lights when the car is on which i had on so me and the dog wouldnt get cold but apparently that was a problem!! i am a single black mother who all the sudden is so scary that ive been in my car with the dog and taking her on walks and feeding her that the police needed to be called on me for sitting in my car not bothering anyone !! didnt get a complaint because of the dog or anything but because im trying to follow the law and not leave my dog in a cold car!! ive called shelters all around to surrender my dog and they are all full. i tried to rehome my dog for over 4 days and even before we got here and noone will take her!! i even called about getting her put to sleep and i cant do that either because she is a healthy dog!!! i even asked the police to take her and they stated they cant because shelters are a full and they are not taking surrenders! i even looked into boarding but i dont have $568 a week to pay. people dont have any type of compassion anymore and its sad! i nearly got arrested outside in my car and the police said they arent going to bother anyone in the room im staying in so this hotel would rather have me in jail and my kids know nothing because im in my car! its really sad i paid over $300 dollars to stay here and to be treated like this but when a random man was knocking on random car windows offering a open bottle of liquor thats not suspicious. even when i reported it the man at the front desk said all i know him he does that all the time ! or random people smoking weed on the side of the building isnt suspicious but me a black single mother sitting in her car with her dog is suspicious!! then they proceed to tell me that i cant stay here if they get any more complaints of me sitting in my car! i could see if my dog was a nuisance but she hasn't barked or done anything to anyone but me sitting here is a problem of place that i paid to be here! After seeing the room he told us he couldn't offer a refund because the "Hotel was fully booked for the night & maids would need to clean the room up after us before they could book the room for someone else to stay." Keep in mind the parking lot was completely empty besides maybe 1 or 2 other cars & we hadn't even unpacked, used the toilet, or laid on the bed before deciding we didn't want to stay here. Since he wouldn't offer us a refund we decided to just tough it out and not waste the money we spent to book a night in this dumpster fire hotel. We finally laid on the bed to discover there was dead spot that would cause the bed to creek loudly and massive dent in the bed that would practically roll you out of it on one side. After returning to the lobby and letting him know about the dead spot in the bed he was kind enough to let us stay in another room of this "completely booked out hotel" so that was kind of him. Overall I would never recommend this place to anyone ever. I kid you not it was so gross in here we almost contemplated sleeping in the car for the night. If the experience with the room wasn't bad enough to earn 1 star the service from the staff and having them lie to our face about the hotel being fully booked out and claiming the room was in too poor of shape to offer a refund solidified this as a 1 star experience.
