Great stay here. Was in town for a golf event with my Company. The Hotel is a Marriott property and is maintained very well. Stays here include a complementary breakfast, so that is a nice bonus. Breakfasts have various cereals, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, juices make your own waffles, eggs and sausages, so a nice variety for a free breakfast. The lobby is welcoming and modern, the staff was great and I did not have any issues. When I arrived I was greeted and was given a little gift bag with a cookie and water inside for being a Marriott Bonvoy member, recommended that you join. It has a small business center located within the lobby area as well. They also have robot that brings you room service, always think that is cool. They also have a small pantry area for snacks and various items in case you forgot something. My room itself was large, it was one large space, but really two rooms, king size bed with a partial wall separation and then on the other side a fold out couch, desk/office area and a second TV. It also had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also updated, full glass shower with a nice large rain style shower head with great water pressure, water rains down on you like a waterfall. A couple things with the room, it faced the Main Street and was a bit loud with traffic, try to get an even numbered room and you will not face the street. Also, my room had a smell kind of like near the beach, not overwhelming, just a bit off. It was not strong and as soon as I was settled, did not notice it, but something they should look into. They have a gym and a small pool as well. I used the gym of course and it was pretty nice, a couple benches, free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and a hydration station. (Water was not cold though) A lot of space and I think they should add a multifunction weight machine there and it would make the gym a lot more rounded and better overall. Overall I enjoyed my stay, they are close to a lot of restaurants and other shopping areas, near the golf course as well. With a couple improvements I would have given it 5 stars. I would stay here again, getting an even numbered room away from the street next time. Half of my photos could not be added here, so I added the rest on the main page of their site, mainly my room pics. Enjoy!

Hotel with traffic light to enter its parking lot

After much research, I decided to stay here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites San Marcos (San Diego) because I felt it was the best in the area for these reasons: 1) newer hotel so accommodations are fresh and not old/dated 2) safe area (it has its own traffic light to turn into the hotel and shares an area with an Outback Steakhouse and upscale apartment complex) 3) free parking even with multiple cars 4) no pets (hence not dirty and noisy. I hate staying in a hotel room next to a barking dog or one where I find dog hairs all over the sofa) 5) free breakfast: bagels, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, waffle station 6) a Marriott property which is nice if you have status Upon arrival I was grateful to find all of those things plus: 7) a friendly staff 8) super clean hotel The only downside, which for me is a major downside, is that the rooms have zero soundproofing! Even after getting a room facing the parking lot and not the main road I still heard road noise literally all night long. I also could hear every detail of my neighbors conversation and TV shows they were watching. Maybe you won't be in the room much or be a better sleeper than me which is why I only took off one star. Luckily between the hours of midnight until 6am it was fairly quiet (other than the road noise) so I did get some sleep. TIP: the even numbered rooms face the parking lot and the odd numbered rooms face the road (so if you're noise sensitive request an even numbered room)

From all of the various properties I've stayed at in 2024 - for both personal and business - this location was top-notch (and that includes Marriott and non-Marriott properties, as well!) The room was smaller than I'm used to but it was for a wedding block versus a Bonvoy or Sapphire Reserve reservation, so I was told. Hence, no complimentary upgrade. Every other aspect of our stay made up for it.

Unexpectedly one of the most charming stays we had in socal. Since my parents were celebrating their anniversary, we were met w the most beautiful and thoughtful welcome swans and gift basket (with snacks instead of wine since we let them know we don't drink alcohol). It was one of my parents' favorite stays and truly made them feel cared about. The staff was absolutely warm and caring and we really enjoyed our stay. An added plus was the cute and friendly robot that brought us toiletries that we forgot. Breakfast was hot and fairly good as well. Rooms were very clean. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend

Shocked and surprised by this Fairfield Inn. (In a great way). Came here on a weekday for work travel + the front desk was super sweet/ helpful. Nani answered my questions kindly and didn't have a "don't ask me more attitude," which I appreciate because customer service lately in the hotel industry has been up and down lately. Stayed in a 1BR King Suite. Perks: - This hotel is close to the freeway, and pretty updated. Also, very clean. I've stayed at the Fairfield in Tustin ... and they need to take a cue from here. - Small gift (cookie + water) for platinum status; happy they acknowledge - The bathrooms most importantly is renovated. 4th floor is the highest floor. - - Free Parking, microwave, fridge, + breakfast, I would stay here for not just business, but also personal if I was in the area!

The waffle has the "M" for Marriott, it's kinda cute

Marriott Bonvoy is the chain that I always go with coz I rarely get disappointed. This hotel is no exception, has a standard good service, clean rooms, complementary parking and breakfast included. Location is a bit far from the airport and downtown San Diego but you can't beat the price and the other consciences in addition to its being in relatively safe area. I would come back

I am Thankful they could accommodate my service dog. They do require to see the licensing for service pets. It was a pleasant stay. I would recommend and stay again if needed.

Driving in and out of the hotel was a pain. This hotel isn't your typical hotel with restaurants in it. There wasn't food nearby within the hotel so I had to rely on food delivery. At least with the rooms, you can prepare your own food which is a plus. Their continental breakfast was basic, but did the job. The rooms which are coined suites, are large and spacious. The big downfall is really the paper thin walls. Even when wearing earplugs, I can hear the next door neighbors. The noise kept waking me up, resulting in a bad nights sleep. I wouldn't stay here again. Also, they charge $5/day for onsite parking which is obnoxious.

They now charge $5/day for parking. The 2 bedroom was pretty spacious, but is in need for some renovation. The beds were okay. The kitchen area is nice if you want to prepare a meal. However, the pots and pans were not cleaned by the prior occupant/house keeping. The daily breakfast was okay. The hot portion usually consists of scrambled eggs and sausage (pork/turkey). There is also a nice assortment of breads and bagels, oatmeal, and cereals. There are also two waffle makers. My boys enjoyed the waffle maker and the chocolate milk the most. The best part of the Residence Inn for our family is the pool room. They recently added an Arcade OneUp Machine, which you can play for free. You have to give a drivers license now to get the pool table gear. We think has cut down on who uses the pool room. The nightly front desk attendant was friendly and courteous. The workout room is nice for a daily workout and has a filtered water machine to refill your water bottles.

The breakfast burrito is good, though, and the view overlooking the golf course is beautiful. Overall, this place is incredibly relaxing. Ayres Hotel Vista Carlsbad exceeded all of my expectations, and it was a pleasure to stay here. We got a double queen room, and the beds were very comfortable. The room itself is your standard mid-range hotel room, but everything was clean, the shower water pressure was decent, there were plenty of device charging plugs, there's a mini fridge in the cabinet, and the bathroom sink is separate from the toilet and shower area. I don't particularly like this restroom setup, but what are you gonna do? The free breakfast is great. They have a made-to-order omelette station, with an actual person behind a counter taking orders and making your food. They also have a self-serve waffle-making station, oatmeal cups, yogurt, cereal, and a mango-infused water (fancy!). The only thing is that the coffee they offered in the dining room was trash. What you want to do is go visit the Keurig coffee maker by the front desk, which is available to guests all day. Make yourself a cup of coffee from there, and thank me later. There is indoor seating, but do yourself a favor and go out to the patio and enjoy your breakfast outdoors in the perfect Carlsbad morning air. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day, which is a relief and as it should be. There is also a laundry room, with super fast washers and dryers. Ayres Hotel is set up in the hills a bit, so there isn't anything nearby to walk to. They even called us the day of check-in to ask what time we'd be arriving, which felt thoughtful and welcoming right from the start. The staff were consistently professional and kind. Check-in was easy, and the gentleman who helped us went above and beyond making sure we had all the information we needed. Breakfast was a standout, with made-to-order omelets along with standard continental options. We arrived around 7 p.m. and were tired and hungry, so it was such a bonus to find a small bar on site (in the same space as breakfast) serving personal pizzas and drinks. We grabbed food and brought it back to our room, which was exactly what we needed. Our deluxe king room with a sofa bed was very clean and well laid out. There was a small, movable coffee table that made eating on the sofa easy, a desk with a rolling chair, and a fridge and microwave hidden away in a cabinet. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, and there was a blow dryer and steam iron available. Free parking and Wi-Fi were appreciated, and there were Tesla charging stations as well. The only thing I wished for was easier TV streaming or the ability to log into Netflix directly--the remote was a bit laggy--but we didn't spend much time watching TV anyway. The location is quiet since it's in a business area, but Target, Starbucks, and plenty of food options are just a quick drive away. Overall, this was a really comfortable, stress-free stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

It's an all suites hotel so it served that need. The room itself on appearance was very nice, perhaps recently refurbished and felt clean and modern. We had a couple experiences which made it a little weird though. The rooms have motion detecting lights that you can only sort of control. The shower for example...the light turns off when you're in the shower as it doesn't sense your motion and there's no way (obvious to us) to force it to stay on. That was a bummer for the 2 of us who wanted to shower but had to do so in the dark unless we opened the shower door and waved our arm around to hopefully catch the attention of the sensor to give us another 30 seconds of light. This also happens if you're sitting on the toilet. The last thing I want to think about in that situation is having to provide additional motion so the light doesn't turn out. In the living space, a light also automatically turns on when it senses motion. Not great for having our son trying to sleep in that room and us having to move through it to leave the room or access the kitchen to have all the lights suddenly turn on around our sleeping boy. Also had a disappointing non-fitness room experience. The fitness room was no accessible because of renovations...okay bad luck in terms of timing...but they said I could go to the adjacent Hampton Inn and use their fitness room which was open 24 hours. So I did, but, unfortunately their fitness room actually isn't open 24 hours as I learned when I got there. So no fitness room and wasted time walking in the rain to the hotel next door based in the inaccurate info given by the staff.
