    Pantry
    Randy B.

Great stay here. Was in town for a golf event with my Company. The Hotel is a Marriott property and is maintained very well. Stays here include a complementary breakfast, so that is a nice bonus. Breakfasts have various cereals, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, juices make your own waffles, eggs and sausages, so a nice variety for a free breakfast. The lobby is welcoming and modern, the staff was great and I did not have any issues. When I arrived I was greeted and was given a little gift bag with a cookie and water inside for being a Marriott Bonvoy member, recommended that you join. It has a small business center located within the lobby area as well. They also have robot that brings you room service, always think that is cool. They also have a small pantry area for snacks and various items in case you forgot something. My room itself was large, it was one large space, but really two rooms, king size bed with a partial wall separation and then on the other side a fold out couch, desk/office area and a second TV. It also had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also updated, full glass shower with a nice large rain style shower head with great water pressure, water rains down on you like a waterfall. A couple things with the room, it faced the Main Street and was a bit loud with traffic, try to get an even numbered room and you will not face the street. Also, my room had a smell kind of like near the beach, not overwhelming, just a bit off. It was not strong and as soon as I was settled, did not notice it, but something they should look into. They have a gym and a small pool as well. I used the gym of course and it was pretty nice, a couple benches, free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and a hydration station. (Water was not cold though) A lot of space and I think they should add a multifunction weight machine there and it would make the gym a lot more rounded and better overall. Overall I enjoyed my stay, they are close to a lot of restaurants and other shopping areas, near the golf course as well. With a couple improvements I would have given it 5 stars. I would stay here again, getting an even numbered room away from the street next time. Half of my photos could not be added here, so I added the rest on the main page of their site, mainly my room pics. Enjoy!

FALSE ADVERTISING. THEY WON'T HONOR MOBILE KEY CHECK-IN IF JACKIE THEIR RECEPTIONIST IS ON SHIFT
    Kevin G.

On November 30, 2025, at around 7:45 PM, I called Jackie, who was acting as the receptionist at that time. I requested a mobile key via my cell phone, as I had already waited 40 minutes to avoid carrying my physical credit card due to having lost my wallet. Although I still had my passport to verify my identity and had already settled the room charges using my credit card linked to my Marriott BonvBonvoyount, I expected to proceed directly to my room upon request, given my previous experience with mobile keys. However, despite waiting for 40 minutes, I still had not received access to the mobile key app. When I called the receptionist, Jackie insisted that she would not send me the mobile key until I checked in with her at the front desk. I questioned her reasoning, asking why I needed to check in if I was requesting a mobile key. She responded that it was necessary to issue a parking pass. I then asked her what would happen if I didn't need a parking pass, suggesting that I had been dropped off by Uber or Lyft; Jackie maintained that I needed to check in with her regardless. I further inquired why the hotel offered a mobile app on their website if I was being denied access to the mobile key check-in option. Jackie implied that mobile key check-ins were not honored until I checked in with her, which I found to be inaccurate. The hotel's website does not state that checking in with the receptionist is a requirement to obtain a mobile key. The whole purpose of the mobile key app is to allow customers to bypass interactions with receptionists like Jackie. It seemed that she was creating her own rules in this regard. It is unprofessional for Marriott to promote mobile check-in via its app--screenshots attached--yet have employees like Jackie deny this service at their discretion. If there were an option to rate this experience zero stars, I would have chosen it. This was my first instance of dissatisfaction at this location, despite numerous prior visits for work purposes. I intend to file a formal complaint, as I believe that if a Marriott hotel does not support mobile key check-in, this should be clearly indicated on their website. I expect a full refund of my points and the deposit I made, as Jackie refused to honor their own mobile key app service. Kevin Cervantes

Hotel with traffic light to enter its parking lot

After much research, I decided to stay here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites San Marcos (San Diego) because I felt it was the best in the area for these reasons: 1) newer hotel so accommodations are fresh and not old/dated 2) safe area (it has its own traffic light to turn into the hotel and shares an area with an Outback Steakhouse and upscale apartment complex) 3) free parking even with multiple cars 4) no pets (hence not dirty and noisy. I hate staying in a hotel room next to a barking dog or one where I find dog hairs all over the sofa) 5) free breakfast: bagels, eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, waffle station 6) a Marriott property which is nice if you have status Upon arrival I was grateful to find all of those things plus: 7) a friendly staff 8) super clean hotel The only downside, which for me is a major downside, is that the rooms have zero soundproofing! Even after getting a room facing the parking lot and not the main road I still heard road noise literally all night long. I also could hear every detail of my neighbors conversation and TV shows they were watching. Maybe you won't be in the room much or be a better sleeper than me which is why I only took off one star. Luckily between the hours of midnight until 6am it was fairly quiet (other than the road noise) so I did get some sleep. TIP: the even numbered rooms face the parking lot and the odd numbered rooms face the road (so if you're noise sensitive request an even numbered room)

From all of the various properties I've stayed at in 2024 - for both personal and business - this location was top-notch (and that includes Marriott and non-Marriott properties, as well!) The room was smaller than I'm used to but it was for a wedding block versus a Bonvoy or Sapphire Reserve reservation, so I was told. Hence, no complimentary upgrade. Every other aspect of our stay made up for it.

Unexpectedly one of the most charming stays we had in socal. Since my parents were celebrating their anniversary, we were met w the most beautiful and thoughtful welcome swans and gift basket (with snacks instead of wine since we let them know we don't drink alcohol). It was one of my parents' favorite stays and truly made them feel cared about. The staff was absolutely warm and caring and we really enjoyed our stay. An added plus was the cute and friendly robot that brought us toiletries that we forgot. Breakfast was hot and fairly good as well. Rooms were very clean. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend

Shocked and surprised by this Fairfield Inn. (In a great way). Came here on a weekday for work travel + the front desk was super sweet/ helpful. Nani answered my questions kindly and didn't have a "don't ask me more attitude," which I appreciate because customer service lately in the hotel industry has been up and down lately. Stayed in a 1BR King Suite. Perks: - This hotel is close to the freeway, and pretty updated. Also, very clean. I've stayed at the Fairfield in Tustin ... and they need to take a cue from here. - Small gift (cookie + water) for platinum status; happy they acknowledge - The bathrooms most importantly is renovated. 4th floor is the highest floor. - - Free Parking, microwave, fridge, + breakfast, I would stay here for not just business, but also personal if I was in the area!

I am Thankful they could accommodate my service dog. They do require to see the licensing for service pets. It was a pleasant stay. I would recommend and stay again if needed.

Marriott Bonvoy is the chain that I always go with coz I rarely get disappointed. This hotel is no exception, has a standard good service, clean rooms, complementary parking and breakfast included. Location is a bit far from the airport and downtown San Diego but you can't beat the price and the other consciences in addition to its being in relatively safe area. I would come back

We created a Spotify playlist that we were able to play using the venue speakers, and we even used the projector screen that they had to play our Nintendo Switch games during the welcome party. Street parking was plentiful and our guests ended up loving the venue as well. We would highly recommend the Woodshed for anyone looking for a fun space to host a gathering or party!

The property is absolutely stunning, with well maintained grounds, ample parking, a spacious, air conditioned bridal suite with mirrored walls, clothes racks, and an ironing board. The suite even has its own bathroom. The venue has a decent sized dance floor along with enough room inside to seat close to 200 guests. The bathrooms were clean and had multiple stalls to accommodate the ladies. There is also a huge kitchen with a walk in frig that is available for use as part of your rental. We had approximately 250+ guests attend our event and there was plenty of space in the back lawn area for over flow seating. We used the outdoor patio area to set up 4 buffet lines of food. 2 lines for our catered meal, 1 line for kids meal, and 1 line for our cultural foods. The patio area also had ample room for us to place our photo booth there. The back grass and patio area looks spectacular at night with the market lights to add to the festive ambiance. The grounds were large enough to house an adult sized jumper that helped to keep our younger guests entertained. The grass area still had plenty of available space for a corn hole spot, our marquee letter signs and our taco guy we hired to end our night's festivities. Shannon is the property manager, and she is a true gem. She worked tirelessly with us to help obtain all our vendor COIs and was extremely kind to allow us to come the day before our party to drop off our drinks and many party supplies. Anything we needed, Shannon was there to help resolve. She is friendly and professional, with a sense of humor to boot. We received sooo many compliments from our family and friends about how beautiful the venue was. Of course, anyone who dealt with Shannon adored her and her down to earth vibe! We loved that we could bring our own food to the venue without being tied to a set list of food vendors. The bar area was also spacious and the bartender kept the libations flowing all night long. The Optimist Club has 3 belly tables with linens that came with rental of the venue. These worked out fabulously for our guests wanting to hang out by the bar and smoking area. My experience with Home Wedding Sites as a venue matching service has been pretty decent…read more Communications with the owner have been very pleasant, professional, courteous, and friendly even though there were a number of delays in response. But overall they have some pretty decent properties listed. My only criticisms is that I wish their profile information for the property was a bit more specific especially detail need to know set ups for events and whatnot. Basically profiles just have a limited number of pictures and general location and general cost, and maybe some house stats (qty rooms/bathrooms etc). It would be nice if more information was provided and more pictures, things like where are cars parked, and is this a day of place, does it have overnight accommodations, maybe even layouts of the event areas that are available for use, any rules for the property, whether the owners live on site or not....is there storage, where can the caterers cook? That sort of thing. At the least if the information was provided up front those planning would be able to ascertain whether a property is right for them before going through the arduous process with the owners to set up an appointment to tour the location. In the 3 months of communicating with the office we viewed about 20 ish of their listed properties, and decided we were interested in pursuing three of them after some Google satellite image searches and look at what information was provided. It took 3 months, and we were only able to get a tour with one property which ultimately ended up being a shared property with the owners and only a day of location. Which is ok for us in a pinch but for the area and cost would not have really that worth it....the other ended up cancelling their contracts with HWS or something to that effect. But meeting with the owner of HWS was blast, she's very sweet and helpful and it is a free service for the bridegroom. I'm still maintaining contact with HWS in hopes a new property that better suits us pops up that's better than our top pick right now which is just located in an inconvenient area to overnight accommodations but the property is amazing. But as far as Home Wedding Sites goes, it worth connecting with them. They have properties of all budgets, to each his own terms, some daily, some weekly, some even monthly, some overnight, some day of, etc etc...but all the properties are nicer than your average wedding venues, more homey, better than many of the vacation rentals I've seen, some more palatial, others more convenient. There was another similar business who lists wedding venue estates that had a couple of estates, one I think was called Bali estate, another Emma estate, but that company was a nightmare to communicate with, so I'm hoping those awesome properties begin to work with HWS because its a better service in my opinion,
