So I know Fairfield isn't top of the line, but they should still have some standards.the lobby and rooms smell like smoke. I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep because I just killed a cockroach. The fan in bathroom is incredibly loud and comes on if you turn the light on. Everything is just worn and old. There were a total of 3 cockroaches. I've been traveling for work for almost 20 years, always staying at Marriott properties. This is by far the worst hotel I've experienced. It's the only time I've encountered cockroaches in my room.. I will switch hotels tomorrow for sure. Would do so now if it weren't 10 o'clock at night.. read more

We had a great stay here! My fiancé was working here so we stayed overnight the night before; he didn't want to wake up early and make the commute in the morning. Also, there was a tornado warning for this day.I work remotely and the staff was super accommodating, allowing me to work from the lobby. This was especially gracious during the tornado warning. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was solid. They have flavored waffles in addition to the regular ones, which we thought was a very nice touch. We also made use of the treadmills in the fitness center. I hope to stay here again next time we are in Owensboro! read more

Let me start by saying the woman at the front desk was awesome. Sweet lady. Very accommodating. Overall in the end our stay was fine but it took three rooms to get us there. The first room was so incredibly scented (perfume, cleaner?) we couldn't handle staying in there. The second room was scented just fine but within minutes of being in the room the AC unit kicked on and was seriously unlike anything I've ever seen before in a hotel room. It sounded like a very loud Model T. The lady at the front desk heard it also and said it sounded like it was going to fall out the window. There was no way we could stay in the room. So we got one more room key and this room was fine. In addition to all that fun and excitement, we felt paranormal activity while we were there (4th floor). Very nice Fairfield Inn close to many restaurants and other services in Owensboro. Check-in/out staff were very friendly. The room was spacious clean and odor-free, which is important after you have stayed in a smelly hotel. Breakfast was also nice as they had veggie sausage one morning. I wish it could have been more but I'll take what I can get. Overall, this was a great stay and I would certainly stay here again. read more

If you have 4 people and they only have a room with a king size bed with a pull out sofa bed, don't go for it. I feel like they should report this type of room only sleeps 3 because the pill out sofa is a twin size. Luckily, we were here with our soccer team for a tournament and our youngest was able to stay with her friend. We made it work. The rooms are clean. However, we are still under a mask mandate in KY and the staff at this hotel is not participating or enforcing it upon the guests. You might love that, you might hate it. The hotel is clean, and the bed is adequate- not the most comfortable, but I've had worse. The decor looks pretty cheap and basic, and there are no black-out curtains for light and privacy. Breakfast was good, but they were out of scrambled eggs. There was no hot water, so none of us got a shower that morning. Called the front desk, and they said to wait a while because they only had 2 hot water heaters for the whole hotel. I told them we didn't have time to wait, we had to go, and we paid for a bed and bathroom. The man at the desk said he would have the general manager call me. The GM never called. I called the main Fairfield line, they said they would make a case and someone would call me. Noone ever called, they just emailed me to tell me they added 5,000 points to my Marriott account, which is pretty worthless. Would not recommend. We stayed at the Best Western last year, and it was much better. read more

We stayed here about 6 times, and it was okay. It's in a prime location for grazing at local fast food restaurants - I hit up three different ones in one evening. The hotel itself is pretty blah and a little old. The staff is fairly friendly. Free breakfast is decent. read more

The breakfast spread is worth the fare alone. It has everything, indoor pool, a/c that's working overtime, clean and comfy accommodations. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My mother was in town for a funeral, and the front Desk told her they had a bereavement rate of $79.00, but that since we had booked her on expedia they couldn't offer it to her. After a three way phone call with Expedia and the manager Alan it became clear that it was Marriott was unwilling to provide the rate that they had quoted at the front desk. There's a reason this is the least popular Marriott in Owensboro. While the front desk ladies Jennifer and Laura were always pleasant and did their best to be helpful, their manager Alan is garbage and has no business working in customer service. read more

Please do not stay at this PREJUDICE Hotel black people. I was just there on Nov 19th-21st for a football tournament. On Nov. 20 while returning to the hotel from a our football game. As we were getting ready to get on the elevator the staff member were bringing our belonging down on a cart in trash bags. He informed me that we have checked out. I went to the reservation desk to see what was going on and all they can informed me that it was an error in their system but yet they was getting ready to check another guest in our room. The sad thing about this situation that they did the same thing to another black couple as well accept they didn't pack their belonging up in trash bags. Can someone tell me why Ashley the general manager never contact me about the situation. I am so angry because this hotel didn't not want to accommodate me a refund for the night they tried to put my grandson and I out. They informed me that they was only willing to give me $79 dollars and 500 points for their error or better yet glitch in their system. I have been calling Marriott Corporate office and they are no help as well. Black people be aware that this glitch only happen to two black families at this hotel. REALLY. I'm a regular Marriott member. This is a fairly nice Fairfield Inn. It has recently been remodeled. However, I had the worst experience. While taking a nap, a man unlocked my door and walked into my room. I said hello?! He asked if I was clothed then he proceeded to walk right in. I screamed at him and then he left. I called the front desk, they apologized and offered to take $20 off. I feel my horrible experience is worth more than that! They offered to bring me water. Then they told me he was a worker that had been staying at the hotel. It was even scarier that an old room key worked! After demanding compensation, they offered 2000 points - big deal. :/ I've never felt so unsafe in a hotel in my life. read more

This hotel was ridiculous. Booked a 2 double bed room that claimed to have a sofa sleeper in the room and the free option of additional rollaway beds. We arrived after a 7 hour drive to a room with two double beds, and that's it. We showed the front desk the email confirmation promising the sofa sleeper and rollaways, and the woman rudely informed us that the entire hotel has no sofa sleepers or rollaways. With 7 people staying, the hotel could have made up for their mistake and given us a second room, but apparently the 100% satisfaction sign on the front of the hotel means nothing to them. There was no option to sleep on the floor because the room smelled extremely musty, like water had sat in the carpets. The bathroom was tiny, and only had a stand up shower. The pool is way smaller than the pictures, and the hot tub was closed, covered, and had a table and chairs sitting on top. Thank god we left. read more
