Check-in was easy and expedited since it was after 9 PM and I told them tired and just need a bed. The rate of $139 for a double was okay, was hoping for better. The exterior entrance and lobby presented nicely. A large wall water feature was pretty cool. The room was accessed first time with key card and looked great. Everything in the room worked and looked great. It appears they have recently renovated. There was only one issue and it was a bathroom hook that was loose and put on with a screw that was wrong and the nook very loose. The beds were comfortable and I had a really good nights sleep. Maybe I was just tired, but I could not hear noise from other rooms. The wake up call went off as requested. In he morning my son and I went to the breakfast area that started at 6:30 AM. It was busy and too congested. There is a large flat screen TV to watch as you enjoy breakfast. For me the breakfast was just meh, they did have a pancake machine I believe which is cool. We elected to get breakfast on the road. This was an above average stay. For the few hours there is worked great for an overnight and then back on the road home.

Free parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Room was quiet - didn't hear the freeway noise nor doors closing. Bathroom was well equipped. Water pressure was decent and the temperature was nice and hot. As a Bonvoy member, free WIFI. Almost forgot to include that. I stayed at a different spot on a different trip and was charged - figured I'd mention this. Don't know the layouts of the other rooms but I chose a room with two queen size beds. Room was so spacious I didn't even touch the second bed. There's a small pool - didn't try it. I was there to work.

I used Hotels.com and being a loyal Marriott member, selected Fairfield by Marriott and made a reservation. Literally (and I mean literally) a minute later I realized that because it was after 1am the reservation was made for *that* evening (ie more than 12 hours later) not for a quick 5-6 hour stopover. I tried to change the reservation but it cancelled instead despite already charging me the full $190. Even worse, when we walked into the hotel to try and fix the situation on the spot, we were told the hotel was completely sold out. I contacted Hotels.com, they were fantastic and responsive but let me know getting a refund would could only be approved directly by the manager of the property. They reached out on my behalf and apparently this property owner couldn't have cared less and refused to refund even a portion of the amount. A costly 2-minute mistake on my part and easy money for no effort on the part of the property owner here. We were so aggravated that we decided to go ahead and drive through. I doubt the owner will ever see this review or if they do, will likely not care, but greediness and a lack of empathy has a way of circling back. There are a lot of other hotels in the area - choose another one rather than this one.

We parked our car on Thursday and didn't get in it until Saturday when we went over to HHI. Right in the middle of everything and everything is walking distance. Shopping, dining, etc! We arrived in town a little early so we decided to call the front desk to see if we would be able to check in early and they immediately said yes. When we got to the hotel and parked, the staff were quite possibly the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met in my life. They were so kind and made the entire process super quick and easy, and the best part? A DOG! There's a little white dog who loves belly rubs and high fives that I very much enjoyed hanging out with anytime I was in the lobby. The room itself was a solid size and had two twin beds, some wonderful furniture, and a TV which is everything I could possibly want out of a simple room. Overall, The Bluffton Inn was a five star experience from the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out. With amazing staff, clean rooms, and even complimentary snacks, breakfast, and beverages in the lobby staying at this place in the future is an absolute no brainer.

Shortly after checking in, we discovered multiple bugs in our room. The final straw was waking up to a bug crawling on me while I was in bed. At that point, there was no chance I was putting my family back to sleep in that hotel. We documented the bugs with photographs and reported the problem to the hotel that night. The hotel offered to move us to another room, but after finding multiple bugs and having one actually crawl on me in bed, we had completely lost confidence in the cleanliness and pest control of the property. Moving our family and belongings to another room in the same building was not an acceptable solution to us. We left after approximately two hours rather than spend the night. What made an already awful experience worse was what happened afterward. We requested a refund, and the hotel refused. We then contacted Hotels.com, which also refused because the property had offered us another room and the hotel's policy was not to issue a refund. So, to summarize: we paid for a night's accommodation, encountered multiple bugs, had one crawl on me while I was sleeping, documented and reported the problem, left after about two hours--and still weren't refunded. I understand that problems can occasionally happen at any hotel. What separates a good hotel from a bad experience is how management responds when something goes seriously wrong. In our case, I found the response completely unacceptable. I have photographs and documentation of the insects and our report to the hotel. Based on our experience, I would never stay at this property again and would strongly encourage anyone considering it to read the negative reviews carefully before booking.

We had the heat cranked as high as we could to warm up, but had to have the windows open due to the smell- not a good situation. They offer a variety of rooms studio, 1,2 & 3 bedroom options. Plenty of free parking available. You do have to check in at a different location, it is not far away, but it is a hassle. My biggest regret is that we didn't check out immediately and find a new place.
