Stayed here for two nights. Needed something central to the area without paying beach prices though the prices were still high for what you get. Also it was disappointing that as a platinum member there were no room upgrades. The room itself was fine but they need to invest in new sound proof windows since the traffic on the nearby highways is very loud and the windows are poor. They even have earplugs in the nightstand - that tells you something. Also the faucet water pressure was barely above a steady dribble - again an area for some improvement. The breakfast was pretty standard but what wasn't was the outstanding service by Nadia who was running the breakfast room. She made the waffles and delivered them to our table, she also brought us bottles of water without prompting. We've stayed at many Fairfields and have never had this type of customer service. Well done.

    Spacious, clean bathroom.

First I will say what I especially LOVED about this hotel - they had recycle bins by the vending/ice machine! I love that and almost never see it in hotels. That was fantastic and I wish all hotels would be forced to recycle. There wasn't a bin for aluminum (only plastic and paper), but baby-steps - it was still good to see the bins! This is a nice hotel, not brand new but well-kept. My room had 2 queens and was nice and spacious. It was clean and there were plenty of clean towels. No fridge or microwave, but there was a coffee pot with supplies. The bed (a little squishy) and pillows weren't the best, but they were okay; I've had better (and worse!). Sheets were clean and that's what matters. The lobby is big and the girl checking me in was super-nice. Parking is free and even though the hotel was full, there was plenty of parking around the back. There is a pretty outdoor pool and a gym (neither of which I used). Free good wi-fi and free breakfast. The breakfast area was clean with good food. You can eat inside, or go outside and eat your breakfast. It was crowded because the hotel was full. The hotel is on the pricey side, but I shopped around and it was the least expensive that had good reviews. I stayed during the height of the season in this area (February), so I'd imagine that's why it had the big price tag. This hotel is on a very big, main street through Clearwater. As soon as you exit the hotel to the west, you start seeing all kinds of restaurants, fast-food joints, stores, etc. There's a Super-Target (really nice!) about a mile away. US 19 is about a mile west of the hotel (that's the road that takes you south to St. Pete; it is the major road through St. Pete and Clearwater). There is a big Walmart about 2 or 3 miles away (north on 19), and there's a huge indoor mall about 5 miles away (again, north on 19). This hotel is not really near the beaches - they're a bit of a drive. Going east up Gulf to Bay Road and going left on Bayshore will take you on a pretty drive along the waterway to a cute little town called Safety Harbor (it's takes about 10 - 15 minutes). It is definitely a must-see little town; it is small and charming and takes you away from the traffic and congestion in the Clearwater area. There are tons of cute shops, restaurants, bars and a delightful little dessert place on Main Street called Joey Biscotti. There is also a beautiful Art and Music Center. If you go down to the harbor, there's a nice pier you can walk out on and a little park area. The boats are pretty to look at and we even saw 2 manatees in the water. Also, it is a mecca for all kinds of shore birds and water fowl. I have one complaint, and it's a big one for me. When I walked into my room, I was overpowered by a sweet-smelling air freshener. I HATE THAT. The room was clean, and that air freshener stink was totally unnecessary. Unfortunately, I could only open the window about 1-inch to get fresh air. It was horrible. Any other time, I might have asked to switch rooms, but the hotel was at capacity, and probably all the rooms have that smell. If you're like me and don't like stinky air-fresheners, call ahead to the hotel and try and see if they can tell housekeeping to leave it out of your room - that's what I will do next time I stay here. The smell was really, really strong and SO offensive. That would be my only complaint.

    Love this carpet! So clean...

This was the best hotel stay I've had in a long time, and I travel often. The hotel lobby area and rooms all had the same color palette and was very clean and colorful. It was just the right size hotel- it didn't take forever to get to my third floor room or to the fitness center or to the pool. We stayed in a room with the whirlpool bath- BEST IDEA EVER!! Granted, we didn't have much of a view from our room (lot and trees) but the room was so comfortable and roomy, we didn't look out much- but stayed in almost all weekend! The whirlpool bath is in the corner of the bathroom closest to the bed and has transparent doors that open up to the bedroom, so you can watch tv from the bath ( and that's exactly what we did)! The shower and the bath ALWAYS ran hot and the shower pressure was so good that my honey managed to take several showers a day. The bed was super comfortable and the linens were white, so you could rest easy knowing they were clean. The pillows were light and fluffy and just enough for two. The location was perfect, as well! It wasn't too far from the airport or downtown Tampa spots, but still just minutes away from Clearwater beach and Countryside Mall. We were able to have food delivered to our room door! The only drawback to the entire weekend was that the satellite tv went up and down when it started raining, but it didn't last for long. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and there was always someone there. The free breakfast was your typical free breakfast, but it was fresh and hot and there was a person in the area cleaning and freshening up the entire time I was down there. Fairfield Inn has a wonderful getaway plugged into Clearwater. This will be my regular getaway spot, for sure!

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

I celebrated my birthday at the JW Marriott Clearwater and it was easily one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely made me feel special. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning design and a relaxing atmosphere that made the whole stay feel like a true getaway. There are so many amenities to enjoy, which really elevates the experience and makes it feel like a true luxury stay. The only downside for me was that there isn't a sauna, which is something I usually expect at a hotel of this level. It's a small miss, but worth noting. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate. I'll definitely be back!

However, the experience took a turn when we were unexpectedly cut off after just three drinks each, despite being completely sober, respectful, and not causing any issues. As a disabled veteran, I'm especially mindful of my behavior in public settings, which made this situation even more confusing and uncomfortable. There was no clear explanation given, which made it feel awkward and honestly a bit embarrassing. We fully support responsible alcohol service, but this felt excessive and poorly communicated--especially considering we were dining and not just drinking. I wanted to leave 5 stars... But couldn't I want to start by recognizing the phenomenal staff members who made a positive impact. Brendan at the front desk provided a wonderful check-in experience. Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. Additionally, Debra was incredibly kind when we stopped in for breakfast!! However, I found the digital portal communication to be less than desirable. I had to report a smoking violation at least four times. I also reported guests using the hot tub after hours due to the noise while I was trying to get my family to bed. While I did speak with the front desk night manager, who was apologetic regarding these repeated nuisances, I left feeling that my value as a loyal guest was not fully recognized. I appreciate the high level of service provided by your hospitality team and hope this feedback helps improve the response consistency for future stays. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
