I'm not paying 20 bucks for a book I'll read once that I can get a the library for free. Magazine prices are absurd. I did find a couple that were 8 bucks but most are over ten and usually more. The owner is super knowledgeable he answers a lot of hard questions. Some books are a little pricey but others are low so it averages out. We left with 5 books. One was signed by an author. Another was a book that goes for $100 online and we paid $25 so we will be adding to our collection. Definitely worth coming!

An older woman, who I assumed was an owner or manager, was talking energetically to two other women shopping when I walked in. She shot me a quick glance, then went back to talking to the two women. She shot one more quick glance before she went into the back room. No one said anything to me as I left. On a previous visit, I needed a calendar. Again, no greeting. When I went to purchase the calendar, the woman asked if I was part of their rewards program. (the most anyone ever has said in there) And when I replied no, she just wrung me up. No, "Would you like to enroll?" Someone gave me a gift card for the shop, but frankly, I can't see ever going back in again, so I'll regift it to someone who enjoys indifference.

The man who'd be looking at my books told me I'd have to wait 4 minutes. His tone was hostile, so I just told him I was waiting. When it was my turn, things got sour fast. The offer felt low, so I asked if there was any room to negotiate. Right away, no. Fine. I asked if there were other options, and he said I'd get more in store credit. Since I hadn't decided between credit and cash, I asked if he could write the offer down so I could come back another day. Again, an instant no. He said he was "too busy." I don't know what kind of training Moe's gives its staff, but this gentleman could use some customer service training. Maybe Moe's could stock a few books on the subject and encourage him to read them. There are plenty of other great bookstores nearby. I'd recommend Pegasus Books for your book fix.

Upon walking in, I was amazed with all they had, their small coffee shop, tables centered in the middle for people to read their books and enjoy their coffee and bites, and the selection of books. I picked up an oat milk cold brew latte and blueberry muffin which were super delicious. I also picked up a cool bilingual library for my niece who is learning Spanish and was so excited that they had this. I also happened to come across a super interesting book that I couldn't leave behind and best part is that the author happens to be a local author (score!). If you haven't already, come check out A Seat at the Table Books for your book needs and delicious coffee. The staff are super friendly and so nice and it truly feels like a safe space.

They do interesting events like crafting, story time, open mic, etc. They have tons of books and knick knacks and the food and drinks are pretty good. They even have a community pantry to help food insecure families. For those with younger kids, there's a small play area with a cute winnebago. We plan on coming every weekend to do homework here.
