Then my carpel tunnel came back after having to dish up all this pudding and jello for whatever reason and they went AGAINST DOCTORS ORDERS saying i could come back to work but not wearing the brace i was told to wear! They have a new owner now but still have a long way to go. My BF's first complaint was that he wasn't receiving all of his meds. One being a very expensive Medication that he was suppose to get 2x/day. I called a supervisor and he basically told me that except for taking a nurses word for it that they have no way of knowing if a patient really was getting all of his meds. Another supervisor called my bf a LIAR when my bf was trying to discuss this with him. At one point they put a dying man in with him whose body odor was overwhelming. After a few days of hearing him complain to me about how awful the smell was, I called and then they did move the other patient out. the worst thing was they LOST HIS LOWER DENTURES! He had put them on his food tray and an aide came in and removed the tray. My bf realized it almost immediately but the aide said they were gone. The Bishop people then denied he ever HAD THE LOWER DENTURES!! Actually said they "interviewed" staff and no one could remember seeing them!! We ended up having to pay over $3,000 for a replacement! they did however offer to have THEIR dentist make up a new plate but with the fact that my bf had been through so much and had nearly DIED of blood poisoning in the hospital,I wouldn't allow some dentist who probably put in The lowest bid to do their dental work to make up his lower dental plate as I know personally many people who have horrible issues with their dentures and my bf went to the BEST dentist to avoid problems with his dentures. They of course refused to pay anything toward his replacement denture because the food was so bad I tried to bring in or order food for him. a food delivery was made to him at one point around noon and when I called him around 5:3O he said he had not gotten it yet! Then when I sent him some shrimp scampi from a local restaurant the nurses told him they didn't have time to give him any Silverware so he had to eat it with his fingers finally, after thet kept moving his release date THREE TIMES, I took him out AMA (against medical advice). They had a fit about it (money??) and made a report that he was going into a unsafe environment. a few days later at an appointment with his back surgeon, his SURGEON said, "right now I have a patient there who may NEVER WALK AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CARE HE IS GETTING AT BISHOP". it is my hope that by writing this I can help people to decide NOT TO GO HERE!

Overall, I am stoked with my thrift store finds. The workers up front weren't particularly attentive. Their customer service skills were a 6 out of 10. The place has a ton of shoes and everything is nicely organized by color (including the plates/house ware section). There is a ton of clothes and some art, children's games, and lots of chairs. There is a large parking lot and they accept donations as well.

Many of my favorite pieces of clothing have come from this particular store. Also, there is a large assortment of housewares and, depending upon what is available, sometimes a large assortment of furniture. We needed several folding chairs for a family event and I went in weekly until I had the number of chairs that we needed. As with my clothing purchases, some of my favorite furniture items (bedroom dressers in particular) and housewares are from the Salvation Army. Although I am not an antique collector per se, I've seen some great vintage furniture and houseware itms for sale. As for the cleanliness of the store - well, these are donated items so not everything is sparkling! The long-time employees are friendly and engaging; some of the newer ones may not have acquired the skills to work in a retail environment - which is the case in even upscale retail stores as well. So I recommend a trip to the Salvation Army - even without a planned purchase in mind. You have to factor in enough time to look around. You never know...

I had to be rushed to the hospital because they wouldn't treat me until I was going through withdrawal for 24 hours. By that time, I was panicking, seeing things and very, very close to a seizure. And when I left by ambulance, they told me I'd never see my things again. They threatened me for going to the hospital, which actually saved my life.. this place is vile. It is not supervised care. There's no cameras and they just leave you to lay in a bed and watch TV with no care. They never check on you and if you need anything, you have to bang on the nurses door which they won't open because they're too busy talking about disgusting things in there and making fun of the patients. I would rate the quality of care as zero because there is no care. If you want any type of medicine, the best they're gonna give you is a Klonopin, which for severe alcohol withdrawal does nothing! They pass meds twice a day but good luck seeing any staff other than those times. I highly recommend going to Crouse health instead. And they took wonderful care of me and make sure I could get through my withdrawals safely. I had to have two bags of fluid and a banana bag because I was so dehydrated. Almost instantly I felt better once I got to Crouse hospital. If you are truly sick and suffering and don't just need a break from life I would NOT go to Helio. They claim a "hands off" approach, which just is an excuse for laziness!

I'm on the methadone program at Helio... managed to kick the dope and haven't touched it. Last week…read moreHelio started closing the clinic on the weekends, and sending two doses home for Saturday and Sunday with us on Friday. Just to preface this... Every time I go up to the window to get my dose.... They're doing 50 million other things...while getting my dose together..so what happened to me this morning doesn't surprise me...So I wake up this morning around 5:45, and I go to take my methadone dose for this morning... And both bottles were practically empty because they leaked out all over the place. When I picked up the bottles to investigate them... the cap on both of them was crooked and there was no film covering the opening, as there usually is... So it's no surprise that they leaked out all over the place. Not only do the bottles usually have a child proof safeguard lid or whatever you call it, but there's also a seal under the lid too.... Well, there's supposed to be, anyway. My point is this should not have happened. So of course, I'm immediately frantic, and I call every Helio number they have and no one answers.... So I take a $25 uber ride to the actual Helio building... And this is $25 I do not have... so basically, I'm going to have no way to get to my mandatory health Care appointment this week because I spent the last of my Uber cash for no reason as you'll see when I finish the story... When I arrive I can barely hear the intercom answering machine because the crackheads that hang out next to Helio won't stop yelling at me that it's closed... And cussing at me but I'm stupid...So I just keep yelling "I know....can you mind your own business and shut up?"... So finally I ring the bell to speak to somebody. The Woman was so rude and basically refused to help me. She treated me like a crackhead who had just guzzled down both methadone bottles for fun and just wanted more... I'm practically homeless and I have no money so I definitely didn't have the money to go talk to somebody that's nasty and not helpful at 6:00 in the morning. So I get back home and try calling them again...I leave messages because no one will answer...even though, it says call after hours for emergencies.... So I finally get the same woman who answered the intercom when I went in person...on the phone... And she was just as rude and nasty...and she wouldn't help me.... And I asked her if she could give me a phone number so I could get some help and she refused... And hung up on me for the third time. I mean she was the most unhelpful person I've ever spoken to on the phone in my life... She's sounded like she had sour grapes about having to be working on a Saturday morning, actually... So now it's Saturday morning, I have no methadone, and I don't get my next dose until Monday morning... So I guess I will have to break my sobriety and go buy dope, somehow...And I told the lady on the phone this and she didn't care. I don't have any money...So unfortunately, I will have to something or someone that I really don't want to do... But hey, everyone has off at Helio on Saturday and Sunday at the methadone clinic and mental health office...Except, there's one problem with that...Addicts and the mentally ill, and I am both of those, Well, we really don't have the luxury of taking a weekend off...sad to say....but who cares about us, right?... That's basically what the lady who answered the phone and the intercom told me...She doesn't care and it's not her problem.... And everything about her attitude, voice, tone, word choice told me that I am nothing but a piece of garbage and she didn't have time for me... Guess that's why... After calling a million times and going through the whole automated system a million times and waiting for someone to answer the phone a million times.... She just kept hanging up on me after she refused to help me and treated me like garbage under her shoe...NOT my first rodeo with this place... So I'm absolutely livid... And currently trying not to break everything in my path. You all have a good weekend... Go somewhere else instead of Helio if you can... And for the lady who answered the phone and the intercom... I hope you die, in a horrible, painful, torturous, way... And while you're dying... You scream out and ask me for help... And all I'll have to say is "call the emergency room and they might be able to help you... But otherwise you're going to have to come back Monday."
