After comparing quotes from…read morethree companies, I found that Derrick Spencer State Farm Insurance in Laveen, AZ offered the lowest rates for the same level of coverage I had with my previous provider. I worked with Jesus, who was extremely helpful in explaining the quotes and coverage options. When I needed clarification, he patiently walked me through the details by phone and followed up by email. I am grateful to have Jesus as my State Farm agent. I especially value his patience, professionalism, and commitment to excellent customer service. I also appreciated Jackie's support. When Jesus was unavailable, she responded promptly to my questions and readily offered her assistance when I needed help using the State Farm App. Kathy B.

This review is long overdue. I've known and worked with Mat Herseth since 2011. I've dealt with…read morevarious business insurance agents over the years and to call Mat an "insurance agent" really doesn't describe who he is and what he does. Insurance Professional is a better term. Actually, Insurance Customer Service Professional is more accurate. Whenever I had a claim, Mat was there immediately, as in 30 minutes or less of me calling. And, Mat is not a "paper-pusher or desk jockey." If I had an insurance issue, Mat came to the house that day, rolled up his sleeves and helped me assess the situation and how to best proceed. He also stayed involved in the process until it was completed and my issue was eliminated. Mat is friendly, HONEST, humble, calm, professional, a no "BS" straight-shooter and an all-around great guy. If you wonder what Medicare Supplemental Insurance to get for Mom and Dad, Casey is the gal to use…read more She really knows and understands what she is working with--and she can show you any of the companies that have a Medicare Supplemental plan. What impressed me the most about Casey--who is young and in the first five years of her business--is how totally knowledgeable she is. There is no question hardly she doesn't know the correct answer to. I compare her with the broker I had with 30+ years of experience and the lack of information I got from him--plus, his attitude was "just come into my office and we will talk about it" except when you got there his attitude was just sign this form and trust me (sans talking about the details of any plan nor did he give me any information on anything, but the one plan he wanted you to take). Casey will answer all your questions, tell you about the many plans out there and give you suggestions on which plan would work best for your specific needs. I am very impressed by Casey and think you will also be. Give her a call when you are looking for Medicare Supplemental Insurance! Highly recommended!

By this time I had a fairly good general idea of what coverage I wanted in addition to Medicare. She came to my work on a Sunday afternoon and had answers to all my questions and either agreed to where I thought I was headed on certain parts or explained why she thought I would be better off going a different path on other parts. By the time she left all parts of the plan were signed up for as she had in her car pretty much all possible forms covered. She even put up with the aggressive bees that showed up.

He really knows his customers and remembers the little details like which baseball team you're rooting for and why you want to save money. He helped me save money for so many areas in my life and gave me advice on how to get the most of my car insurance. Sadly, each and every time I've had to deal with his staff I've been left thoroughly irritated. The problems with the office staff have ranged from unprofessional demeanor on the phone, to no returned calls after I've left voicemails, to giving me the flat-out wrong information about my policy, to not even answering the phones during the posted business hours! And the last straw for me was when Duvel himself mispronounced my first name. I had logged into my State Farm account online to check my auto insurance rates (against a quote I had from another place) and out of the blue that afternoon my cell phone rang and it was Duvel calling me to see if I needed anything because they'd noticed that I had logged into my online State Farm account that morning. (If you can get past the creepy factor that State Farm makes notes of when you log into your online account, I think that following up on that is a pretty good customer service move on their part.) Anyway, I bet Duvel, rightfully, suspected that I may be comparison shopping and wanted to save my business, but the problem was that he called me Sharon when I answered my phone. :/ (Uh, my name is Shannon and it's a pretty easy name to pronounce.) I'm gonna chalk this up to one of the idiots working in his office getting some automated report that a customer had logged into their account and was accessing copies of their policy, and this same idiot probably wrote a quick note to Duvel and put it on his desk: It probably looked something like this: Duvel- Customer named Sharon accessed her account this morning, you better call her and see why. Maybe she's gonna cancel? Sincerely, Idiot Employee Well, if they had managed to get my name right *maybe* I would have kept my policy there, but botching my name in addition to all the other customer service blunders I'd experienced when I had occasion to deal with his office staff was just too much for me. It's too bad too, because he seems like a nice guy who really knows his insurance business. Too bad his staff doesn't seem half as capable.
