My favorites was l'oeuf mollet. It was so delicious that I wanted to lay on the floor and weep with happiness. Full disclosure: I am a major foodie and have pretty high standards. Les Sales Gosses was perfection. I will return!

I think I would give this place a 5 stars if I was hungry. I found this place thru yelp. Thank you…read moreall for posting. The place is exactly as was previously described. Quaint and cozy with only about 10-12 small tables inside and about 5 outside. I had a big breakfast so was not hungry but restaurants close at 2pm so I forced myself to try something new. Since menu was in French, I told waiter to select for me. It was a pre-fixed lunch for 20€ with starter, main, and desert. My final bill came out to 27€ with the added 5€ for wine and 2€ for coffee. I tipped 3€ as not sure how much to tip in France; if you do or not? Food was good, not exceptional where my eyes would roll on first bite, but I was not hungry and I am on a picky side by most standards. Upon sitting, without asking, waiter brought out a free house cold bottle of water. I like this as I hate it when they make you feel cheap for asking for free fountain house water versus pricey bottled water. I drink lots of water so buying bottled water will be pricey for lunch. Service was exception with nice friendly waiters. They don't hover over you with constant pestering of inquires; I was left alone to enjoy the dishes at my own pace. The dishes are nicely decorated similar to a fine dining restaurant, but served by casual friendly down to earth waiters. I feel right at home. Would I come back? YES!! I changed my mind at the end of this review. I change rating from 4 to 5 stars. They deserve it.

It's really…read moreclose to the Francois Verdier metro stop and close to a few bus linesIt's one of our favorite places we have found in Toulouse and for 30€ a person for 3 courses for dinner, it's also affordable. You can make reservations easily online but we have had luck just walking in on a weekday as the space is pretty big for a restaurant here. They usually have 3 choices for entrée, plus the entrée du moment, 3 choices for plat (plus plat du moment), and 2 choices for dessert, a cheese plate, or the dessert du moment. I've always found the portions here to be generous, the plates interesting and tasty, and the ambiance very relaxed and casual. You can get a glass of wine for 4,5€ - 6€. Entrées: - The first time I went, I accidentally got tripe soup because of my limited French comprehension (I didn't know what tripe was, and just heard soup and shrimp). So I didn't like this, but this was my fault. - My husband got a beef tartare and tuna tartare - the portions were really generous and he said it tasted good, but unfortunately he got food poisoning from eating this that night :( We decided to give them another shot and came back again, just avoiding the tartare. - Squid & Pork Confit - This most recent time, I got the sautéed squid & pork confit and it was delicious. The squid was fresh and not chewy, and the pork complimented it well, in a creamy sauce. I loved this and would get it again if they had it on the menu. - Seared Foie Gras - My husband got this one and said it was delicious - it was 2 pieces of seared foie gras with rhubarb. I didn't try it because I couldn't eat it (I'm pregnant), but he would get this again. Plats: - I've gotten fish both times here, and they have both been really good, and generous portions of fish. - The first time we came here, my husband got the Iberian pork and he loved it. I tried it and wished I had gotten it. It was huge and cooked perfectly. - Swordfish & Duck Confit - On our most recent visit, my husband got this dish and it was really good, over a parmesan polenta. I liked this a lot - it was a bit on the rich side, but it was delicious. Desserts: - We got a chocolate cake with a molten center and it was delicious; I loved this and would absolutely get it again if I saw it on the menu. - Cheesecake with Strawberries - Different than traditional American cheesecake, but delicious, not too sweet, and fresh. Good for a lighter dessert. Overall, we love this place and would absolutely recommend either for lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced, good portions and nice service. If you're looking for traditional French food that is not overly pretentious, this is great.
