This review is for their eyebrow threading services. I was able to pop in last minute on a Friday,…read morewhich was awesome. Location is in Neal's Yard - super cute and easy to find. Their hair salon is downstairs, so you have to go up the spiral staircase for everything else. I laid down in a room upstairs for the threading, so it was a nice, private experience. My mom came with me and the lady let my mom come in too. Lol. So my mom sat on a chair in the corner in the private room. The lady who did my brows was super nice and made sure that I was comfortable since I'm 9 months pregnant. Overall, the experience was quick and I'm satisfied with the results. I asked her to keep my brows full (didn't want them too thin) so she did just that. It was a little pricey for what I'm used to paying for eyebrow threading (12gbp), but I think that's expected of a salon in central London in Neal's Yard. I would come back for their threading services.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT. and please check google for screenshots of the…read moreconversation I had with them to gain insight. My sister went in with grown out bleached hair asking for a specific type of brown and left with black/blue tinted hair. She booked her appointment for a hair colouring (hair colouring always includes blow drying in every salon, note that a blow dry was not booked separately as it is a package) and a haircut. I messaged them on instagram and showed them my sister's hair and after a simple message of trying to understand how they can take that dark colour out and change it to the lighter colour she requested in the first place without bleach the person got very defensive and rude. Initially they were refusing to refund any part and they were rude in their replies. Then they ignored me, I sent multiple voice notes talking in a calm and respectful manner and asked to resolve the situation and they ignored that also until i messaged them more sternly. Then they said they can refund PART of the hair colouring money, separating blow dry from the hair colouring, which btw they barely dried her hair when she left it was still wet, they tried to do everything to make it difficult for us. I tried talking to them nicely and honestly have never seen anywhere treat clients this way. so unless you are ready to gamble your hair, do not go to this place. because if you hair does not turn out the way you asked or if you have any issues instead of being caring to the clients they will treat you badly and lack communication and accountability! Please read carefully through the conversation we had. I will be taking legal action because this is ridiculous and absolutely outrageous to treat clients this way. A salon who works on peoples hair for a living should be more sensitive and understanding to how precious peoples hair are to them! Not ruin it then act entitled.

I arrived about 5 minutes early and - after "checking in" with the reception - was greeted by Jake at around 5:05 pm. He was very friendly and he immediately sat me down to discuss what I wanted. As usual, I had no idea what I wanted so I proceeded to ask him for advice and went from there. Afterwards I was taken to this downstairs room for the hair wash, which was amazingly relaxing. The ambience of the room was set perfectly - dim lighting and comfortable seats - and the person who washed my hair did an amazing job. I went back up to the main hair cutting room and had my hair combed, after which I sat waiting for quite a bit before Jake came back (I believe he was tending to another customer, which would normally bother me but for this experience didn't matter at all since I loved everything else so much). I was extremely pleased with the end results of the haircut. Never before had I been so content and felt so certain that the haircut suited me. AND the way Jake styled my hair in the end was amazing, too. I've become inspired to actually "do" my hair - on some days of the week at least! Overall I really loved the experience, mostly because Jake was so personable, tended to my needs/requests, and just awesome in general. I highly highly recommend this place - especially Jake! You won't be disappointed.

The stylist was friendly, gave advice on what would suit me, gave advice on shampoo best for my hair and advice on styling it myself (you can tell I am hopeless with hair yer?). AND most importantly cut it nicely and spent the time putting waves through it at the end - I wished I was going out after! The place itself is nice, not screaming stylish or luxurious but light, reasonably furnished. They also do waxing, pedicures and manicures. The location is great for me, situated so close to work (Leather Lane) and for £30ish for a cut and dry I will definitely be back!

Got lots of compliments too... Don't know if it's just me but my nails still seem to split at the edges even with Shellac and so this manicure started peeling before the end of the promised fortnight. I was pleased with the service, but this is my second slightly annoying experience with Shellac and I probs won't bother again... Staff were nice though, and the room was fairly peaceful :)

This is a story of new beginnings & inner strength…read more Back in the day when I was married, I was also broke. And then one day my husband left me. I was distraught. I was a pile of mush. I had long hair because he liked it that way. Fortunately I have a mom that knows how to take care of her daughter. The day after he left me, I had a long talk with my mom about what a cock he was and how I was in a mess because I was so broke. Me: (wailing) "I'm sick! Eric is an ass! Eff him! And I have long hair! It looks so awful!" (more wails) Mom: "Sweetheart, I'm so sorry. Go out & get your hair cut" Me: "But I am so broke, I can barely pay for food!" Mom: "I'll send you $500" Me: *Sniff* "...K..." Two days later, thanks to my wonderful mother & Western Union, I had enough money to keep me afloat and then some while I earned my first pay check. And the first thing I did, after making sure I had food to eat and chucking my wedding ring back at the bastard I moved to London for (that was dumb, I could have pawned it), was get my hair cut. Since I wasn't picky who I saw, I was able to get an appointment that weekend. When I came in, the hairdresser was very sweet & knowledgeable & I bet he loved me even more when I told him I didn't care what he did, just make it short & easy. Not only did he do that but he made it look fabulous. Granted shredding a symbol of 2 years with a man that you suddenly and utterly despise can help with that but he set me free and added a little sass while he was at it. My mother's money also funded my ticket to the company Christmas party where I received my first kiss no less than a week after my husband left me pissed & blurry eyed. From that moment on I realized that everything would be okay. I was clearly desirable, I had a good job, a well located apartment... it was an expensive city but I could totally do it if I wanted to. I could be the single girl in the city! I didn't get to be that before because I was with the bastard! I ended up staying for 5 more months. There was a lot of crying but a lot of growing up. And I thank my mom, that guy at the Christmas party and Bibas for that chance to realize how strong a person I really am.

Really disappointing…read more I decided to use a voucher from wahanda because I'm looking for a new salon. The voucher I had was for a cut with one of the owners. I booked a week in advanced and when I arrived the owner said he decided that he wasn't going to cut my hair because one of his regulars wanted that spot....sorry, I thought we all made appts the same way. So, he sent me to one of his junior stylists. To be fair the stylist was nice, but unfortunately the average cut he gave me only lasted about a week before it turned to a hot mess. Think sort of 80s mullet meets a bob. Not a great look. Really disappointed to be first shuffled off so quickly and then get a haircut that I could have gotten in a strip mall. Not worth the trip.

This package at 171 also included a wash and a finish, which lasted for about two days. I would recommend going here for a great style and cut before heading out to a party.

But Charlie at 171 was extremely comforting and was very professional, and was understanding whenever i would need a "time out" for a breather.
