The one place in Courtenay that actually caters to my current look and fashion = alternative. I wish I knew how to walk in heels 'cause I feel in love with a pair of Zombie heels. The clothes are $$$, however, a lot of the clothes for the genre are well stitched and put together by some notable names in the fashion genre. I've had a pair of Trip NYC pants for 5 years with good wear. When you think about it it's better to spend a lot on something that will last rather than buying a few pairs of cheap pants. You end up really spending more for the cheap stuff in the long run than just investing in a piece right from the gate. If this is your primary style than I can see why this place would be expensive. I'm a working admin/book keeper, therefore, I only need a few pieces in this fashion line, therefore, investment is minimal. It does annoy me that some things are not tagged for pricing which is an indication that I will need to bring out the credit card. I find the staff very helpful.

This store has absolutely beautiful clothing. However, you have to be very careful as the sales…read morestaff will happily sell you things that don't fit properly, and they won't be candid about how an item looks on you. Sure, their job is to sell, but the goal should be customer retention. I won't be going back, as the last item I bought was really too big for me, and I didn't realize it until after I'd taken the tags off. I don't mind having the odd alteration done, but since that was the fourth time in two years I've been horribly disappointed after the fact, I'll stick to shopping in my favourite stores in Victoria and Vancouver from now on, where the staff know me and always steer me in the right direction.

We look forward to coming back and trying in clothes again in the near future. And for those who are tired of going into stores with cute clothes only to discover that the size you need isn't available, the owner said she orders everything up to size 3X (when possible).

This store is lovely. It's got good sized aisles, the shelves aren't over stuffed, and the staff…read moreare helpful without being forceful about making a sale. I was looking for a local dyer/spinner/artisan for Souvenir Yarn, and the staff member was able to point me in the direction of one. She actually didn't even come out from behind the desk, which in a small store where I was the only customer, actually was fine. If there had been more than just me in the store, this would have felt dismissive. The organization was a bit haphazard in my opinion; the dyer I was looking at was placed at various places around the store, I think depending on weight or perhaps fibre type. I'm not sure. But in the end I found something I liked, the staff member was helpful recommending patterns and telling me about the sample garments I was admiring. Then we had a funny chat about their logo/mascot. They had a name contest and I think the character was eventually named Gordon "Ram"sey.

Our new order came in and it was a complete difference, we are so happy with them! Budget Blind's did a fantastic job and I can't imagine that it could have worked out any better we are completely satisfied .

Lisa greeted us after we entered the store and was pleasant, engaging, personable and informative…read more She got to know us and guided us to what we were initially looking for and offered information about particular types of chairs that were most suitable to our height and size (which we did not realize was as important or relevant as it was - who knew recliners were so involved?!). She showed us just the right amount of options (not overwhelming but included size, height, rocking or not, electronic or manual features, etc.) and helped demonstrate the options of the different chairs and also helped us choose a chair best suited to our needs and a colour best suited to our decor (based on the options available). We're new to the Courtenay/Comox area and she even gave us a little helpful information about living in the area and some of the local background. As sales people go - she was perfect. Very aligned with us, our tempo, style and personality. A great experience and we're greatly looking forward to our new, very comfortable chair! If they don't have the chair you want in the colour you want, they will order it (you choose from the available options) and it will be made to your specifications. Our only regret is that we have to wait for our new comfy chair to be delivered :-)

But it's a great little store with an incredible variety of fashion. They carry Fluevog shoes, semi casual dresses, feminine night wear, pretty affordable silver jewelry. What really stands out though is their service. Even when the store is busy & there's only one person working, you will be acknowledged and looked after. They have an amazing policy for holding items. They impressed me anyways because I asked them to hold shoes that were on sale. Normally, stores will give you grief about such a request. But they held the item for a few days for me. I gave 4 stars rather than 5 only because the store is small so limited in stock. They actually deserve a 4 1/5
