I am so very thankful to work with Clare because I know I can "go there" with Clare…read more "There" is exploring all of the parts that comprise who I am. "There" is bringing her the stories and thoughts that I don't share with my friends or family. "There" is living out an on-going grieving process for my father, ambitions for my life, disappointment in relationships, stresses in career, existential angst about death, etc. And when I'm "there", Clare is walking me through it all with no judgment, and riding my emotions alongside me. Once I'm done getting it all out, she'll help me unpack the message and we'll come back from "there" to "here", together. "Here" is where Clare encourages me to be, even when I don't want to believe it. "Here" is where I'm compassionate to myself, others and living in flow. I'm sure Clare will help bring you back to "here" as well. I, like you, was once looking for a therapist on Yelp. I found Clare and didn't need to look again.

She has a rare ability to listen while actually being able to respond and provide good insights from her experience to help you grow through what you're going through so to speak. I was experiencing major emotional roller coasters and found her at a particularly good time to help me sort out my thoughts. I believe in her cause for anyone trying to improve themselves or speak about things in a private setting.

Our experience with Alexandra Matthews was deeply upsetting and damaging. If you are considering…read moreher as a college counselor or psychologist for your child, please think twice. She is arrogant, self-serving, and shockingly indifferent to the emotional needs of the children and families she claims to support. From the beginning, it was clear her priority was not helping, but controlling the process and collecting payment. She dismissed our concerns, pushed her own agenda, and treated us with condescension and disregard. Instead of helping our child, she abandoned her --leaving lasting emotional harm. Once paid, her involvement dwindled. She became cold and vindictive, making harsh, unprofessional remarks that no child or parent should ever be subjected to. Her actions were not just inappropriate--they were unethical and deeply hurtful. Alexandra Matthews should not be trusted with the mental health or educational future of any young person. She lacks compassion, professionalism, and any real sense of responsibility toward the families she works with. Do not make the mistake of working with her. There are many truly supportive and ethical professionals out there. She is not one of them.

She is unnecessarily harsh and decides who you are before talking to you for even five minutes. She also tried to give me (bad) college advice even though I was paying her (a LOT) for therapy. I got into top colleges (including UCLA engineering) without her bad advice. She had a weird fixation on college which was completely irrelevant to the purpose of our session. I seriously caution people against meeting this woman. She is unprofessional and unhelpful to say the least.

He helps immediately with anxiety problems including trauma or fear related symptoms and what I liked the most is he doesn't use jargon or 'psychobabble' or tell you that counselling or psychotherapy has to be 'painful'. Eventually he has enabled me to think about problems in new and more empowering ways. Most important to me is what I found was an enhanced ability to be compassionate, trustworthy, and patient. For me theses qualities along with just being able to communicate well really put me at ease to work through a lot of trauma and anxiety. Oh, and one more thing have you ever felt like a councelor that you saw wasn't very emotionally stable? Well, this guy is not like that and definitely on top of his game.

I work well with dissociative clients (dissociative identity disorder). My focus is on helping clients get back to a stable, fully-functional state where the fear and anxiety is greatly reduced, and the ability to be in relationship is significantly improved. I believe we all have multiplicity, and therefore do "parts-friendly" psychotherapy. During the trauma resolution portion of the work, I primarily use a body oriented approach called Somatic Experiencing. My aim is to do the trauma resolution work at a pace and in a way that does not overwhelm you or make it difficult to function in day-to-day life. I also do work with couples, especially where childhood trauma may be interfering with their ability to relate to each other. I have another office in Cotati, CA.
