Not many industrial minimalist bars in Palermo that mostly use found/home-made furniture, but this place does it so well. It could be in Shoreditch or Brooklyn!
Primarily a bar but with really good food, Fabbrica 102 is a little gem tucked down a side street behind the main (and very impressive) post office. The owners are great; friendly, chatty and professional. The beers (we mostly drank Forst alla spina) were fresh and very good value at €3.50 each. The menu is varied with not only pastas, meat boards and sandwiches but also hearty home cooked fare such as fried veal (delicious) and specialties such as turkey in balsamic. Vegans and vegetarians have a good choice too.
We got there just as the skies opened and I can't think of a better place to relax with a beer looking out at the streets as the locals scurry for shelter - they should have come inside here!
Heartily recommended. read more
