I've been training in Muay Thai/boxing for 10+ years, but am now a mom of 2 little ones and have physical limitations given multiple knee injuries/surgeries. It's been hard to find a legit boxing gym with good trainers that can tailor classes to my injuries and is also family friendly. I honesty found my dream gym and even though I only started a few weeks ago, I'm really excited that I found KG boxing and am now a member. I should also mention that they have 2 kids of their own that you'll often see at the gym. They offer kids classes which they're trying to build and also have a kids play area with toys and even a blow up bounce house. There's a sense of camaraderie that you feel as soon as you walk through the doors which I love and miss since I've mostly been doing personal training boxing sessions since moving to PHX 2 years ago. But don't let that fool you because you'll also see seasoned boxers training for fights and sparring. They offer a wide range of class times and open gym which is super convenient. They gym is clean and they have a nice boxing ring. I've worked with a lot of coaches over the years and I can say without hesitation that KG is one of the best. He's passionate about teaching, is very technical and does a great job on focusing on the fundamentals. He takes the time to learn and tailor his coaching to your skill level while still encouraging you to maintain or develop your own style which I appreciate coming from a Muay Thai background. So whether you're a seasoned boxer looking to spar/compete, a complete novice looking for a new workout routine, or a mom trying to get in shape I would highly recommend you check out KG boxing.

I have years of anonymously critiquing fighters on internet message boards and learning all there is about boxing through YouTube and TikTok videos. In one session, Coach KG corrected my stance, hook, and one-two. This is a great boxing gym that is family owned with experienced coaches. It is new and clean, which is great if you are like me and used to living in a damp basement. Coach KG has already shown me how to wrap my hands two different ways and didn't even comment on the Cheeto stains on my fingers. Amazing. This is a great place to be yourself, learn your fighting style, and gain discipline and accountability. You will be corrected when something needs to be addressed, and it is done in a positive, non-parental manner, unlike my roommates. Overall, this is a great place to feel connected to yourself and to improve your mental and physical power. My only complaint is that there is no Mountain Dew Slushi machine.

Inferno Performance Gym - More Than Just a Gym, It's a Game Changer!…read more We can't say enough great things about Inferno Performance Gym and Coach Dontay! From the moment our kids started training here, we knew we had found something special. Coach Dontay has an incredible way of working with kids--his energy, positivity, and ability to motivate and push them while still making it fun is truly unmatched. He knows how to challenge them in the best way possible, building not just their strength and skills but also their confidence. Whether it's conditioning, technique, or just learning the discipline of hard work, our kids are improving every session. One of the best parts about Inferno Performance Gym is that our kids go for homeschool PE, and it has been an absolute game-changer! It gives them a structured, high-energy environment where they can stay active, develop real athletic skills, and burn off energy--all while having fun. The workouts are physically demanding but exciting, helping to improve their body mechanics, coordination, and overall athleticism. They're pushing themselves, building real strength, and learning how to move properly--all under the guidance of a true pro. After seeing all the action, other homeschool families have joined in too! It's incredible to see a growing community of kids getting stronger, healthier, and more confident together. The energy in the gym is contagious, and the kids genuinely look forward to every session. The best part? They love it! They leave every workout feeling accomplished, excited to come back, and--of course--showing off their new muscles . It's rare to find a place where kids can push their limits while still having a great time, but Inferno Performance Gym has mastered that balance. If you're looking for a gym where your kids will not only get stronger physically but also mentally, while being coached by someone who truly cares about their progress, look no further. We're so grateful to have found this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible training experience! ‍ #InfernoPerformance #StrongerEveryDay #HomeschoolPE #BuildingChampions #KidsWhoTrain

That's why I wanted to join initially and they even gave me a free trial period! This gym was pretty far from me about 25 minutes but I still made the trip 3x a week because of how friendly everyone is and what an awesome workout I had. Unfortunately, I had a family emergency and couldn't attend one month but one of the owners Tiffany was so understanding and kind and offered me credits for the rest of the year - so awesome! Tiffany along with the other coaches are amazing and gives such great pointers during classes. I experienced a totally different energy when I approached Tiffany's husband to cancel (also an owner). Mind you you have to approach a coach to cancel which doesn't make any sense. Especially when I felt like I was met with aggression and the whole interaction was extremely uncomfortable given his tone and attitude towards me. I wanted to cancel because I was moving farther away and didn't want to drive 30+ minutes with these gas prices. Totally understandable but no I felt I was berated by him when he told me I'd regret it, I'm making a mistake, I don't understand the premise of CrossFit and I'm totally missing the point. His opinion was completely unnecessary regarding my choice to cancel and I don't see myself ever returning to use my credits due to this unnecessarily aggressive interaction. To top it all off they never canceled my membership and I was charged again this month. Ultimately, my review would've been 5 stars if I didn't have such a bad time canceling. Really would've thought that one of the owners would hold themselves to a higher standard of behavior. It's unfortunate because outside of this interaction I feel like they really care about their members you're not just a number or dollar signs. I think that's where his heart was but it doesn't give anyone the right to express themselves the way he did there are many other ways to tell someone you're disappointed to see them cancel and hope to see them in the future.

The staff is friendly, with one exception: A few weeks ago my wife arrived to attend a new group fitness class, only to find that it had been canceled because the instructor abruptly quit without notice the previous afternoon (one wonders why). Previously the gym sent emails when a class was canceled, but not this time, which was disappointing. A personal trainer who is now the gym's "manager" explained the reason; from her point of view she was apologizing for the lack of notice. While I couldn't hear the conversation, the manager's tone was increasingly aggressive, and my wife turned and walked away. The manager continued to address her back, resulting in my wife waiving her off and continuing away to work out upstairs. The gesture triggered the manager, who then chased after her and created a scene, yelling at her from the bottom of the stairs to my wife on the landing, incensed that she'd been disrespected and threatening to expel her. My wife nodded and proceeded up the stairs. Some history here. This is the same person who called some months ago to advise about an upcoming increase in membership fees. When she asked how I felt about it, I said I wasn't tickled by a 50% increase but understood the necessity. She exclaimed it wasn't 50%, so I had to explain going from $60/month to $90/month was, in fact 50%. I guess math is hard. She was wrong anyway, as our new fee was actually $149 since we would be signed up as a couple. Also, a few months later we were about to go to a group fitness class when we found this individual was going to sub for the regular instructor. The set up didn't seem to fit with our routine, so we chose to do an alternate work out. Apparently this was taken personally, as she mentioned it more than once as evidence that we had problem with her. Things came to a head last week after the club sent an email with the subject: Rate your experience. I gave a 5 star review, but my wife rated it at 2 stars, explaining that there were only two cardio classes each week. The manager publicly confronted me during my workout, asking if I knew about the low rating, which I did not but would ask. She also said that no narrative was given to explain the rating, which was not true. When I discussed it with my wife, we agreed the rating was too low for the reason given, and she would revise it. However, she couldn't edit or delete the original, so she submitted a second response with a 3 star rating and the same narrative. Not good enough. During my workout yesterday the manager sent one of her minions to say she wanted to see me when I was done. I quit early and found her, where she proceeded to harangue me about my wife's new survey. She then went back to the scene weeks earlier and said she was due an apology but my wife wasn't woman enough to offer one. I pointed out that her behavior made such a conversation difficult and was awarded another diatribe. I also asked what was the point of requesting a survey if it only sought accolades? Since this took place in a public area of the gym, any witnesses will confirm that I never raised my voice or offered an emotional response, contrary to the other side of the 10 minute rant. Since I failed to kowtow and fetch my wife to do the same, the conclusion was forgone, and she said she was terminating our memberships (after 13 1/2 years). That's my experience with the manager, a rather insecure and limited person who is a poster child for the Peter Principle. She just cost her employer about $1800/year to salve her psyche. We'll miss the rest of the club, but the relationship was poisoned. I can at least take solace that a developmentally troubled individual has employment. P.S. Business owner, spare us the platitudes. You made this person the manager, and other members have also shared with me their negative feelings about her. Good luck.
