I should have realized how high his opinion of himself was, after our phone conversation. He asked me to text him about my plumbing needs, but didn't want me to tell him what was wrong. FOR REAL!!! I realized then he had an ego problem, but wanted an estimate. Strangest text I have ever sent. I needed help replacing my drain lines which were old, but ONLY had a few leaks. I won't ever do that again!!! I had several plumbers come out for estimates. Powers' estimate was by far the highest priced one!!! He wanted 4-5 times more than everyone else, and actually 10 times higher than the man I wanted to hire to do the work!!! He made it very plain that HE WOULD DECIDE WHAT WORK NEEDED TO BE DONE UNDER MY HOUSE!!! He didn't want me telling him what to do, or what I needed done! He made that perfectly clear. We had a very short conversation after that. When I finally got him to quit "beating around the bush" and give me his estimate, I simply told him that his estimate was way out of my price range. I think he wanted to replace everything, and I wasn't having all the plumbing replaced!!! His team (2 guys) came out and crawled under my house. They were super nice, and said it didn't look like get it would be all that hard to get the lines replaced. You could tell that they were the ones who were going to be doing all the work. I wish I could have just hired them, by themselves!!! I really believe that their price would have been reasonable. THE ONLY REASON, I finally decided to hire a plumber was because it was so extremely hot underneath my house, and the person helping me was slow and kept causing problems. I should have long since been done with replacing the drain lines. I spoke with a remodeling company some time after Mr. Powers gave me his estimate, and was told they don't use Mr. Powers any more because he began changing his prices during jobs. After hearing that I was sure glad that I hadn't hired Mr. Powers! PLEASE DON'T HIRE THIS MAN and his ego!!!

Doug and his crew made the permanent fix and installed a new sewer pipe to the city for less than the what the other company charged me to repair the one problem. Six pretty good sized men showing up at one woman's house is definitely overkill. Six men showing up at your house would be scary to some women!!! It's surely NOT wise!!! Some of these guys could have sat in one of their trucks instead of just standing around. Anyway, 2 of the fellas - evidently worker bees - went under my house while everyone else stood around. They looked around, & saw the how the previous plumber had blocked my access to the rest of the plumbing & came out to tell their bosses. They told the Main Boss how all my plumbing was PVC pipe. He made it very plain that he wasn't pleased to hear that. He said that he doesn't like working with PVC. Maybe he doesn't do drain lines. I explained to him that I needed that one drainage line moved (rerouted,) so that it didn't block my path & I wanted the water lines wrapped for the Winter, so they wouldn't freeze. I don't think I told them that I needed the drainage lines strapped up which is another thing the previous plumber failed to do. Anyway, they didn't want to dig under the line that was blocking the access to see the rest of the plumbing behind it, so they really couldn't give me a real estimate, but the head guy said they'd do the work. I wasn't impressed! I don't do half or maybe estimates, or just hire folks NOT knowing what all is involved & how much money I am going to spend!!! So, no thank you, K&K!!!

I told her I will be taking vacation that day. Day that was scheduled- I waited to be contacted and by noon had not heard from them so I called. Was told they would be here by 3pm. At 2:50 they drove up in my driveway looking like they were getting tools. 5 minutes later I see them driving off. No contact with them. I called the office and left message asking if the were coming. I never received a response. They never came back. Not only do I still have a stopped up drain, but wasted a day of vacation and will now have use up another vacation day to get it fixed.
