Two hours at the quoted rate plus materials was no where near 470. Being generous at 2.5 hours plus materials the bill would have been 250. They "kindly" lowered the bill to 375, still over 2x the quoted hourly labor rate (plus materials). I would have been happy to pay what the job was worth or even up to 300 if the bid was a little off but man, to be that off on a bid they (he) must not know what they're doing. Management was also not man enough to say "hey we REALLY screwed up on that bid. Here's a bill for what it was really worth." If I didn't pay the 375, I would be sent to collections. What a rip off of a company that doesn't stand behind their advertised pricing.

Both Jerry and Andrew were very knowledgeable about their trade and I feel that Andrew could have done a lot less to make me as pleased as I am, felt like he was doing it the way he would want someone do it for him. Finally and most important, I had bids from a total of two companies and the bid and final cost from In-Phase was $1,620 less than the first bid. I believe the first electrician was trying to take advantage of this older person.

Ran into an odd electrical issue--shortly after getting things going for the day, lost power to my…read moreinternet modem. Upon investigating, found the dryer outlet, stove, fridge, kitchen lights, and other random areas out. Maybe something tripped? Checked the breaker box, found the dryer had tripped, but wouldn't reset. After some troubleshooting, started calling for a pro. Though others said they'd check their schedule and get back to me, no one did, except Mike L. who was to my house within an hour, perhaps much sooner. Ultimately, shortly before arriving power was back on throughout the house without doing anything, but I noticed a utility truck down the alley a couple blocks--that likely was related. Mike checked my box and found no issues, and noted the breakers all seem to be new, but can't fix something if it's working!! Super cool guy, excellent customer service, and the person I spoke to on the phone initially was a pleasure as well. Will definitely call Mathews Brothers Electric in the future first! Jairo's communication is excellent, helped through every step of the process with the utility for the service upgrade. He's a high integrity guy, very trustworthy, was competitive with the bid, charged a fair price for change orders (very important!), always shows up when he says he will, and gets the job done in the face of difficulties. Great guy overall. Couldn't be happier. I'm lucky to find him.

I could tell right away his attitude was horrible and did not want to be here or work. Pat still charged me even though the parts and labor were covered under the warranty. He told me he was charging me because he had to "walk to his truck" to get the part he needed to repair the furnace. He then turned to me and made a veiled threat stating "you would be surprised how much this little part could cost. I should have charged you more." The women who took my info sounded very busy during that call. I was told I was on the next days "list" and to please be home "all day". The heat in the house has me up at 6am, so I make some breakfast for the kids and start waiting to hear from Total Service. And I wait. And I wait. I hear nothing from Total Service. at 3:00pm I call and again talk to the same grumpy women who assured me "I am on the list for today" though her tone told me I was never going to see a tech. 4pm comes and goes. Then 5pm. At 5:15 I call and get voice mail. I spent 9 hours waiting on them and they can't bother with a phone call. They stood me the FK UP! it's 85 degrees in my living room. We have a hotel booked for the night. The hotel wasn't cheap. Called R Buck at 6pm tonight, they had a tech here at 7:30pm who was able to diagnose my problem and will be back with parts tomorrow.
