He partnered with us for our engagement photos - doing so at a very generous price, considering his high level of skill - and did a phenomenal job of making us feel like we could be ourselves in front of the camera. BOB IS THE BEST! I used him for our engagement/proposal photos and I couldn't be happier! GENTLEMEN: If you are thinking of popping the question in Hawaii, listen up! Bob was able to help me every step of the way and took a lot of pressure off of my shoulders. Yes, I called him several times out of sheer nervousness. I can't say enough good things about Bob. First, he was extremely responsive to any emails or questions. This is always a plus when you are planning a destination wedding and you've never met your photographer. We didn't get to meet Bob until the day before the wedding, and once we met him we knew it was going to be a good fit for us. He was calm and confident which put us at ease. On the day of the wedding Bob was awesome. He was able to get all of the photos we wanted and more. He was organized and went through all of our family picture combinations in an efficient manner. We were also able to get pictures with all of our different groups of friends before the reception even started. And I can't say how happy I am that we have a group picture of everyone that made it to the Hawaii to celebrate with us. On the boat ride reception, Bob was able to capture some great moments and was never intrusive yet always seemed to be there to capture the good moments. A quick anecdote about how great a job Bob did. A member of my husbands family enjoys taking pictures too. The last family wedding he had his camera out and was taking tons of pictures. For our wedding, his camera was down the entire time. When I asked him about why he wasn't taking pictures he said, "You're photographer is doing an amazing job and is capturing all of the moments I would have." After the wedding, Bob got use six "Sneak Peak" photos so we could use them for social media. These were invaluable and I was able to show people the pictures easily so when I arrived back on the mainland I didn't have to tell everyone I didn't have any pictures yet. Now, on to the most amazing part. It was very hot the day of the wedding. My husbands shirt was showing some sweat spots. And, these showed up in some photos. Bob was able to take a picture of his "dried" shirt and then fix the photos where the spotting was bad. I was so happy this was able to work. It made a bunch of great photos even better. I'm SO glad we had Bob photograph our wedding on the beach last week! We found him online just a few weeks ago and were very impressed with how quickly he responded to my initial inquiry and also to my zillion + one follow up questions. Things that were fantastic about Bob: * His quick response and communication, which were key for us in planning our wedding in less than a week. * He's flexible, friendly and accommodating. When the weather forecast turned up with an 80% chance of rain in Waikoloa -- where it almost never rains! -- Bob was willing to change his schedule to photograph our wedding on a non-rainy day. We didn't end up changing the date, but it was a huge relief knowing that we had the opportunity to do so if necessary. * And, most important of all, his photographs are excellent. He took advantage of the weather (see above) and captured some really dramatic images with great colors from the clouds, the ocean, the tiki torches, etc. I have a hunch some photographers would have balked at the rain, but Bob was a great sport and worked hard to set up fabulous photos, all while keeping a great attitude. * His turnaround time was quick! He sent a few sneak peek shots within a few hours of our wedding and we received the rest a week later. (We had a tiny ceremony -- just me and my husband and our officiant -- so it might take him longer than that for more pictures, but still, quick is good when parents and siblings and friends and relatives are asking "when do we get to see MORE?") I really hate having my picture taken, but Bob made me feel comfortable the whole time. I never expected to get married in the rain on a beach in Hawaii, but I wouldn't change a thing about the whole experience. Bob's photos of our wedding show an artist's eye, not just the work of a guy with an expensive camera.
