(2) The optical staff were my problem (consistently over last 3 yrs); not happy with them AT ALL. Actual Drs and people who assess your prescription were great, but the optical and desk staff were ignorant and the optical staff -- consistently RUDE. I need a different RX for every distance & this requires the optical person to _listen_ when I explain what distance(s) I need a progressive lens for & what I need to be able to see. Also when I asked for a copy of my Rx (so I could get glasses elsewhere), on 2 occasions they sent me the wrong Rx. When the new eyeglass shop calls them, suddenly the latest Rx is given.

I went to vision optical to get an updated prescription because mine was expired. Appointment was fine. I don't have any complaints about the staff or customer service. However, when I went to order my contacts I noticed the prescription was vastly different. I understand vision can change over the years but this prescription indicated a significant improvement to my vision and a huge difference to my previous astigmatism correction. I figured it was a simple data entry error or something so I called. The doctor insisted the prescription was right. He explained away the differences despite me explaining I've had basically the same prescription for so long I have it memorized. But he's the doctor so I figured I might as well try the new prescription. I absolutely could not see! I experienced extreme blurriness, discomfort, watering, pain, etc. I got a second opinion and lo and behold, my astigmatism correction is exactly the same and the overall prescription indicates slight changes to my vision that can be attributed to age and other understandable changes. Do you understand how terrifying it is for someone to drive at night with an uncorrected astigmatism?

It is going to cost me 180 miles…read moreplus my time (three round trips 6 hrs) to get them corrected and I have to wear my pre-surgery glasses while they make the changes. They refuse to give me a postage paid envelope for UPS or Fed-ex to save me one of those trips. It seems I am bearing more of the burden of their mistake, they only have to produce a new pair of lenses.
