This is the ONLY major food store/pharmacy in our little "hole-in-the-road" town. So they have the…read moreliberty of setting their prices, which are a little on the higher side. There are the Dollar General Market and Family Dollar stores in town also, so there is a little competition for prices. But this store does have a much larger selection than the other two stores in town. So if you don't want to, or can't, drive the 15 miles to Livingston Walmart or 16 miles to H-E-B then this is your best option. They also have the Tobacco Barn and gas station on the parking lot.

They are always well stocked with ice and beer, and there are a lot of other fun nicknacks and gifts for sale as well. Today when I went in they had beautifully detailed laser-etched wooden depth maps of the lake, which was really cool. They also sell things like t-shirts and hats as well as chips and other snacks. The spot itself is fairly new, and they have built a beautiful deck with tables and chairs so that you can relax and enjoy the lakeside views. They stay open extra hours for holidays, which is really nice! We were there over Memorial Day Weekend, and even though they are normally closed on Mondays they plan to be open in case anyone needs anything over the long weekend.

They have koolaid in a bottle and also capri sun in a bottle. I've traveled the world and I've never seen it anywhere but at brookshire. When my squad and I pulled up, we confronted the brookshire brothers, giving us shopping carts and smiles and good wishes. We bought a lot of things and even decided to stay multiple minutes after they closed! The whole family comes here. It's quite peculiar-- not the store, but the fact that I saw a family of 3 pulling into the parking lot with dozens of toys (seemingly alive) hanging on the back. When the family entered the store, the toys followed, the one they call 'Bo peep' pranced around on the slick, freshly mopped floors. I couldn't find the graham crackers, so I asked Pete. I dont know if his name is Pete but he looked like it was, so that is his name. He knew exactly where they were!! He vividly described the location of the grahj crackers, explaining that they were next to the cheese its (baked version) and Ritz (family size). Big fan of all of this. If you like singing in public, I recommend this store. I sang out loud the entire time and everyone kept giving me looks of thrill and joy--at least I hope so! P.S! We also buy the large 1 gallon 6 packs of distilled water. Water at the cabin tastes funny. Glad they have carts to get it to the car. Everyone helps us find things- we will get better at this soon. Friendly shoppers, helpful staff. We buy lots of fruit and fresh stuff, but there is a good frozen selection and ice cream -all kinds of variety. Gasoline is next door. They also have a small outdoor items section in front and a drive up (not sure how you do that) but make picking up stuff convenient. There are sales on many items- but prices are not like a big box store - and that's just fine.
