Just wanted enough gas to get us closer, not a full fill-up, but in the time that it took to wash the windshield, it was full. So that was a plus. I didn't go inside since it was kind of late, and my 'navigator' went inside just to get drinks (since we paid at the pump). I sat there seemingly forever, watching the bustling station across the road. Figured he'd taken an unexpected pit stop or something. Nope. Said the fountain machines were exceptionally slow. Ridiculously long for a stop that didn't involve hot food or using the restrooms.

Assuming it was water as it was quite large, we walked through it as it was right in front of our pump. It was actually gasoline. A giant puddle had formed in front of pump 6 and had ran off into my pump, pump 5. I had to remove my daughters shoes as the fumes was over powering. I pressed the attendant button 3 times with no answer. I drove to the front and went inside to make them aware of the puddles. The front attendant stated "oh that was the beep I was hearing, you were trying to contact me". Very frustrating. I told the manager and she stated she knew. I asked why wasn't the pump closed and she said it didn't matter as guests would still park there. She also stated that they didn't have the cat litter to cover it and needed another store to bring it. I suggested she put the yellow bags on the pumps so cars won't pull up there. She stated "oh I guess I could do that". This is a dangerous situation and should have been handled with much more urgency. This is very disappointed coming from a company that I frequent. Me and my daughters shoes are runined and I hope nothing happens to other customers.

So I win today, I decided to get a piece of the fried chicken, and let me just say, juicy crispy flavorful best damn fried chicken I've had in a long time and for being deep in the South right now, that's saying a lot for a gas station. so if you're in the area, definitely stop in and grab a piece of fried chicken, it's worth the stop.

Okay she gave me a look like "Why You Frowning Heifer?" and I gave her a "Cause it f'ing stinks up in here!" look right back. :) The store is like a shack that has been put together in pieces by whomever owns the place. Think Legos that don't all fit together and you try to connect a new part of a Lego Building with Toothpicks....That does not make for a smooth walking transition. The store was okay in side as far as prodicts go. It was not messy but I didn't feel as if it was really clean. That could be in part because it's darker than a mug in there. But it's a very old building and lighting must not have been a big deal 20 years ago. I walked all around it as I could feel eyes coming from all directions as I toured the place with a frown still plastered on my face. Sorry but I could not get past the smell. Even the pumps are a bit old. Not the kind that you push the lever up but it has the one that you slide a piece/block up and down to start and stop your pump. This was not a problem, but that's just FYI and should give you an indication of how old the store is. The staff was nice (Well maybe not the mean mugging Boiled Peanut watching woman. But I propbably started that one. LOLz) the gas didn't bother my vehicle and the price was just right.

Imagine my surprise to stop at this gas station, which by the way is the ONLY gas station for about 5 miles down a very dark road, to discover that they charge a higher price if you aren't paying cash. My ten cent savings turned into two cents. NOTE: YOUR DEBIT CARD IS NOT CONSIDERED CASH. Kinda spooky when you're at the pumps all alone at 1 in the morning and trying to make it down 5 miles of dark roads to get to the highway, but I'm sure that just the nerves of knowing the people in the store will probably have no sympathy if you run out of gas knowing they are the only gas game for miles and miles. Also sorta dark, since their signage is seemingly always half lit and the other nearby businesses are closed and have no additional lighting.
