Not going to lie, this was a pretty bad gas station. It was disgusting. The inside was super dirty. Especially the bathroom. I don't even want to know what liquid was around the toilet. Also, both stall doors were broken. Neither of them could lock. After my horrendous experience using the bathroom, it went to go wash my hand. The sink I used was the dirtiest sink I've ever seen. There was dirt and mold all in it. My oh my. Though the gas station was super dirty, getting gas was easy and the snacks were good. Overall, terrible gas station and I do not recommend stopping at it. read more

Super sketchy gas station. As soon as you walk in the door, you are immediately hit in the face with the aroma of weed. Do not recommend stopping at this exit. read more

What was once the Sanitorium is now a Shell gas station, and some small buildings behind the gas station. I have been told by a local resident that the houses behind the gas station were houses for attendents at the Sanitorium. She also said that the Sanitorium's main building was located behind the current location of the Shell gas station. As a kid, I had passed by this place several times, and never knew its significance. There is not much to see. There isn't even a historical marker. (I'm sure that in 500 years, just as today we would love to know where the exact death place of Ovid was, people will want to know where Faulkner died.) In the Shell Gas Station, there are some tables, where truckers on Highway 78 can eat a quick lunch of BBQ or fried chicken from the Chester's Fried in the store. It tastes pretty stale. But hopefully, you'll get a chance to sit at the tables there while you silently read Absalom, Absalom! or The Sound and the Fury or The Unvanquished in the Shell gas station called the Byhalia Gas Mart.

So there are two issues that I had with this gas station. Firstly I needed a paper receipt and indicated "Yes" when asked by the gas pump computer but then at the end of the transaction, no receipt was available. Secondly to get back on the 1-240 west parkway and head back to the airport was very very difficult! In fact I missed my turn as couldn't get to the left and had to take a longer detour to get back to the parkway to head to the airport. Other than these two issues it was well lit and busy intersection so even tho' it was 6am in the morning and I was a single female, I didn't feel unsafe stopping here to fill gas. Might stop here again if need gas to fill up rental car again. Note: #394 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

He made sure to tell me that don't matter who I called or what kind of review I left it didn't matter because he had been there 25 years and there wasn't a dang dang they would do to him. I had just got done spending over $200 in the store two days prior to that. It amazes me that I have to be talked to rudely while spending my money and good money at that. I have reached out to the corporate office, to Google review, and their privates complaint center and still have not got no response. I am an elderly lady and a Christian lady and I never expected this type of problem coming from an AutoZone management number by the name of Marquis it's definitely a liability and not an asset to this company. Okay I would like to rectify the fact that the district manager who was very professional and extremely nice called me back a few minutes ago and the center to everything that I had to say and was a wonderful experience speaking with him and he is going to take care of the issue whatever way that he sees fit and that's fine with me. Now I am extremely happy about the outcome because somebody heard what I had to say Amen thank you jesus. I give the rating of one star for the management team member Marquis and I give a five star to the district manager. I do believe he said his name is Mr Williams great people skills
