For value and seat time, I give them 5 stars. However, if you're a beginner or new to track days, I'd get an instructor or bring a friend who has some track day experience. We visited Southern California - Palm Desert, Yucaipa, and Malibu - for Spring Break 2021. 00 - FINDING EXTREME SPEED TRACK EVENTS; INTRODUCTIONS We like Jay Leno's Garage (TV show) and knew of Willow Springs race track from his show... and we thought maybe we could race there. It out that Willow Springs is located north of LA, in the Mojave Desert, near Edwards Air Force Base. I explored Willow Springs' website and they have a list of groups who regularly race there, and who teach others to race there. I picked Extreme Speed Track Events and called and talked with Joel, who is very helpful. I explained that we just wanted to learn how to race, to safely go around the track and have a good time, and to maybe learn some "enhanced" driving skills. Joel assured me that is what they do, and we wholeheartedly agree... Extreme Speed Track Events can and will teach you how to race cars... on one of the most amazing tracks - Willow Springs International Raceway! More information about the amazing time we had: 01 - ARRIVAL We visited the office in the main building and the lady there pointed us to The Streets at Willow Springs. While we could see all the tracks from where we were we spent the first little bit in the building. They got us situated and got us breakfast - bacon and eggs and waffles... and flavored Starbucks in-a-bottle. 02 - PRE-DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS They gave us come classroom instruction in the building, about driving and tire tilt and camber... about how to read the track to determine how to set up one turn for the next turn. 03 - TO THE CARS We followed them for five laps, as they showed us how/where to position our cars on the course. 04 - THE CARS Our son and I each drove a stick-shift / manual transmission Toyota Celica... his black, mine white... that had been in the Long Beach celebrity Grand Prix... stock / factory cars with roll cage, lots of weight removed, and racing seats... and mufflers, etc. modified a bit, so they made a great rumbling noise. Our daughter drove a red automatic Toyota Solara, also stock with a roll cage. 05 - THE STREETS AT WILLOW The Streets at Willow has elevation changes and many curves. It's a thrill to drive. Given our novice status as drivers, our peak speeds were 85-90 mph, which was fast enough. Our track times were ~ 2 minutes. 06 - SKILLS SESSIONS After the first laps, then we had a combination of driving in circles, and high-speed braking. The circles were ~ 80 feet around... and by driving faster, and turning the wheel more we saw how that didn't help - turning the wheel more did not make us turn any more tightly... to get more traction you slowed down, steered back a little and then had more grip, better control. The fast braking helped us time going faster into turns, slowing, then powering out of the corners. 07 - DONUTS! Our son and daughter each got turns in the Miatas, making donuts and spinning out. Our son did some drifting on the skid pad, too! 08 - SCOOTERS As we were using the track one-at-a-time, they also had Honda scooters... which we rode to the other tracks... 09 - A RIDE WITH THE TRACK RECORD HOLDER I got to ride with Mark in his Miata, which helped learn what they were teaching us about slowing down and powering through the turn... 10 - AND THEN IT WAS JUST US In the morning, a father and son shared The Streets with us... when we were off-track learning, they were on-track, racing. We drove counter-clockwise and they went clockwise... they were tuning their racing Porsche for an upcoming race, and the 17-year old son was fast! They left around lunch time. Big Willow had several drivers on it in the morning, some Corvettes, Toyotas, Ferraris, etc. They also left around lunch time. 11 - HORSE THIEF MILE & BIG WILLOW After another round of laps on The Streets of Willow, Rob and Mark led us around several laps on Horse Thief Mile and Big Willow... in between we went to the skid pad and our son had an awesome donut/burnout... he was really having fun making smoke and was showing off what he learned this day! I've been running Extreme Speed events for years and they are a favorite. Easy, affordable, convenient, and they treat me like an adult who assumes responsibility for his own safety. Anyone that prizes quality seat time, this is a great group. They've also got new blood in instructors who are quality drivers who will help you improve. I've read some of the other older reviews and they don't comport with my experience. Joel was always clear about his offers, flexible, and I knew what I was purchasing with coupons and packages. With respect to operating the events, I never observed a late start. If you don't know that at a track day you need a number on your car, or that you can't get on the track without a current compliant helmet, you should consider learning the basics at an excellent school like the Alfa club. read more

Rude staffing from the top on down. If there is a staff member that isn't rude, they are probably new. Or you're a girl with a lot of cleavage showing. Bait and switch tactics. Coupon books that are sold with no "black out dates" will have black out dates because the management will claim to not have room for coupon book customers. There will be about 20-30 participant spots available though at that time out of 80-100. Though they will not state it when asked prior to arriving to the track, they will try to scam participants into buying number decals for $20. Go to another venue and spend the extra $30-40 because they will actually efficiently run an event without delaying the run groups too much (more track time for everyone), and they will not have nearly as many hidden charges. I.E. charging their participants $50 to tow them back to the paddocks if they breakdown on track or $500+ if they should have an unexpected fluid leak. read more

I am not surprised by all the terrible reviews! Signed up, showed up. Session didnt start till 1040am meanwhile they ask u to be there by 730 i was there at 7am. So many people on track and they dont call the right groups at the right time every group is late by 20 minutes. Only got to drive 3 - 10 minute sessions and it was already 430pm i got frustrated and left. Not to bore everyone with details but i was told that i couldnt use my helmet because it was designed for multiple impacts vs the SA helmet that is one designed for "one point of impact" that makes no sense at all from a safety stand point. Paid $30 for a helmet that was barely a helmet. Unprofessional unorganized and unreal. Save ur money guys and gals find a better club you cant get worse than this i promise u. read more

Extreme Speed is the worst! So let me give you a little background about me. I started drag racing at the age of 15/16 at Irwindale drag strip. After a years experience my dad decided to get me into road racing and I fell in love with it! I had already ran 3 track events, buttonwillow, autoclub speedway, and streets of willow. I ran across extreme speed twilight event at SOW and thought it would be a great idea since its hot during the summer and I have already had experience at Streets of willow. Anyways when I got there we did the drivers meeting and began to register for our wrist bands. When he found out I was only 17 he began to yell at me and say I cannot race be I am not 18. (I have never had this issue all other hosts let me race with parent consent). he then said it is way to dangerous for me to going out to race at a night event! Yet he was willing to let a bunch of people with no track experience whatsoever go out and do the event? HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE???? He then began obnoxiously quizzing me and testing me on all the flags to see if I really knew everything and had experience! First off he did not need to be so rude about it and he did not need to yell and cause a scene making everyone stare at me! After proving him wrong and showing him I do know he still refused to let me onto the track without an instructor!(I understand safety and everything but come on I have track experience there are other people hes letting on with no experience go out without an instructor) He then said I would have to pay another 80$ on top of the track day if I wanted an instructor!!! Come on? shouldn't you have a notice when registering about age requirements and what not before making go through all this trouble? anyways I didn't have the money for the instructor so he dropped it down to 70 and offered me a free track day for next time. (I was still irritated at this point and already wanted to race because it started) so I paid for the instructor just to race. AND to make things worse I tried signing up with them again with the free track pass JOEL the owner had offered me, he never honored! I tried using I about 2x and each time he had an excuse for me to not go. "Oh that's only good for SOW" "that was only good for that month" But no where on my pass it says any of those things! Joel is extremely rude and only cares about money. Everyone at the event was complaining about how unorganized it was and about everything being delayed with no notice. And as I can see from the reviews and all other fellow trackers I know, no one likes joel or how he runs his events. All he cares about is the money. He doesn't care about anything else. If I could give a negative star I would. Joel Perez is a CROOK!!! I got my boyfriend a private run group package for his birthday because he loves cars and has been to the race track several times. First, let me mention I knew nothing about track racing so I asked Joel to give me a good deal and explain what goes on at these events. He promised me that my boyfriend would have his own run group and no one else would be allowed during their run. There would also only be 2-3 run groups max that were also private (not the typical large scale groups). There would be lunch and drinks provided and instructors that ride with us; all for $1,700. This all sounded great to me, a bit expensive but I didn't mind paying for a quality package with good service. So, today was the event and WOW do I EVER regret buying this package through Joel and ExtremeSpeed! We came to the event expecting a private run group at a small event with good service, instead Joel squeezed in an extra run group into a large scale public event and provided us NO additional value. Let me just list all the things that went wrong: 1. Joel was RUDE AS HELL and gauging/trying to charge for EVERY SINGLE THING! One of the staff, an Asian girl who looked like his little f*ck toy was being pretty rude when my boyfriend borrowed a helmet for me so I could ride with him during the lunch parade. She tried to have us pay, I mean C'mon...I spent THAT much money and you can't even let me use the helmet for 10 min?! 2. Charged each of my drivers $20 for a number sticker which he never mentioned to me on the phone (tried to charge my boyfriend too until I said that was ridiculous that HIS wasn't at least included to the already inflated price). 3. Had NO WATER OR LUNCH provided! 4. They messed up the sequence of the run groups in the morning and also didn't have transponders until mid day! 5. Tried to charge one of our friends who came in the afternoon (after I already TOLD him he was coming later and he said it was okay) $50 for the drives safety meeting! Then when my friend said forget the drive (there was ONE run left!) Joel said that he would "split it with us" and to just pay $25. We still said forget it and he walked away. Later, my boyfriend told me that Joel came up to him and asked that my friend tip the instructor $10 and he could run the last track. So my friend did and enjoyed the instructor, Daniel who was the nicest guy out of all of Extreme Speeds staff. 6. Finally, the WORST part.... I noticed there were other cars that joined our "private" run group! Toward the last 2, especially the last run, ALL the other cars somehow made it onto our track. When I asked him about it, Joel denied that he let anyone join...What a CROOK AND LIAR! Needless to say I DO NOT recommend Joel or Extreme Speed to anyone trying to set up a private run group!! He does not keep his word or care about customer service and took advantage of an unknowing customer trying to surprise her boyfriend!! There are other race organizers that must be better than this crooked company, I warn you and recommend you try the others before coming here! read more

Its funny how on the same day they get 4-5 Positive reviews. (which according to yelp guidelines is against the rules, getting your friends to post reviews when they have nothing to do with what is going on just to try and bring up your stars) Everyone who has run with this "organization" (and i use this term very loosely considering there is no organization whatsoever in anything they do) that isnt part of Joel's "friends" gets the shaft. They constantly over charge consumers, try to force them to buy coupon books, and at the end of the day just suck the fun out of something that is supposed to be solely that, FUN. Then he takes over Redline Time Attack (an organization who's name was tainted from previous owners, but was so big at one time people like us were willing to give them another chance) and thinks he can make money off of a passion sport. He Single Handedly killed the passion of many race teams, if it wasnt for quality organizations like Global Time Attack, NASA, SCCA, and other well run events then i fear the so cal scene would be dead to people like this They can lie all they want and have their friends post reviews that are not true or relevant to what is really going on, but those who live, breathe, eat, and die for this industry know that Joel and his events are not just tarnishing the name, but single handedly destroying everything we love about it. It is very simple, look at the other organizations he has bought for profit. Subiefest, an event that up until he bought it was a renowned subaru gathering. Now Subaru of North America wants NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM OR THAT NAME. Same thing is true of the people who run the Rotary version of that, the name eludes me. They have stated they will NEVER AGAIN RUN WITH, SHARE TRACK TIME WITH, OR EVER BE ASSOCIATED WITH XTREME SPEED OR REDLINE TIME ATTACK AGAIN. If the big organizations are pulling away from him you should really think twice before putting your money, car, health and safety in their hands. Also you should ask how many cars have flipped in the last year of their events, the number will shock you compared with other organizations. ExtremeSpeed and the owner Joel are a joke. My friends and I attended this weekend's event on 5/28, what a waste of time that was. His staff supposedly got pulled over and was 1hr late to the event. The track was scheduled to go hot at 8am. Instead, due to the delay, people didn't get on until 10am. Each run group were cut down to a measly 10mins. Each group were way over crowded. Joel also decided to do a last minute helmet check right at pre-gridding (who the heck does that) stating that everyone had to have a SA2010+ rated or else rent one from him for additional fee LOL! You can google and find a host of awful experience that people have written up about the owner and this organization. Please be advise, he also owners Redline Time Attack and Subiefest. Worst track experience ever at Buttonwillow 6-26-16. Like others have said, the owner is truly a grinch and will take every opportunity to swindle you out of your hard working dollar every chance he gets. On top of that, the event was unorganized and had horrible communication with its participants. At registration, the first thing I was asked was the type of car numbers I was using, blue painters tape was not allowed and I was forced to buy his decals. Unheard of and was never given any heads up about this rule as I have ran with this organization before. On our first session out, they stopped and checked everyone's helmet, my helmet was DOT and Snell approved which was the requirements stated in bold capital letters in our tech sheet but was told to exit the track and check with the owner. Rushing to get approval so I could get back out and enjoy the little time left in my group we were told we would have to rent or purchase their helmets. Needless to say, we missed our entire first session. From there on out, every session was delayed and they don't make much effort to update anybody. We had to rely on their printed schedule which was behind because they never announce anything over the intercom. Don't let the price of the track day fool you, they will somehow swindle you into buying or renting something to extract more money from you. If your fortunate and make it without spending anything extra, the track day experience itself is dreadful... Too many cars on track, drivers not separated into appropriate groups based on skill, immensely unorganized, and only 4 sessions per run group. Overall the worse track experience I have ever had. I've had nothing but terrible track events with these guys. And based off these other reviews I'm not the only one. Joel is rude and will try and suck every penny he can out of you. Why is it that all of a sudden he's charging $20-25 for a stupid sticker when before we were allowed to use blue tape? He wants more money. He will try and intimidate you by saying you aren't allowed on the track without a vinyl sticker and if you need one you must buy it from him. He rides on his stupid little electric scooter looking for drivers without those stickers. From what I remember blue tape was okay before. Never had problems until that past three events I've done with them. As for actual track time? Plenty of delays all the time. They are always running late. This organization is a mess. Expect to run short sessions with them. We only did about three at ButtonWillow in June. You're just throwing your hard earned money with them even if it's only $120. I ran two track events with Extreme Speed. Yeah the track was fun, but the staff is terrible. First time we were charged over 100 dollars to tow a car off the track with a mechanical failure. The second event I went to one of the staff members snapped at me to listen to the drivers meeting like I was a 12. I've been on the track dozens of times, and have enough track days to know what different colored flags mean. I don't need some smug kid yelling at me to pay attention. They offer coupon book things where you can basically buy a bunch of track days for cheap, but then when an event fills up they say you can't use them after advertising them as not having any black out dates. They tell you to take a number sticker, then at the last minute mention they're 20 bucks. Yeah they're cheap, but in this case you really get what you pay for. Save some money but deal with rude, incompetent staff, tons of traffic on the track, and BS charges for any on track assistance (towing, etc.). I haven't ran an event with them since and stick to the better event organizers. Others organizers are extremely helpful and polite, they even grid you in positions from your previous session's lap times so there's no traffic. Something extremespeed doesn't care about. I would suspect the negative reviews come from competing organizations or people That got their ego hurt when they couldn't perform in the class they signed up for and were asked to drop down a class. I was given the most UHHMAZING birthday gift yesterday, my boyfriend noticed how much of a speed racer I am on the freeway so bringing me here was the best experience EVER! I had never been on track so we took my SLK which is an automatic cause I'm lame and don't know how to drive a stick shift. I was terrified at first when he took me for a lap as a passenger but once I familiarized myself I couldn't wait to drive myself. Drove several laps with him in it so he can give me some pointers but after that it was time for me to get on track myself! Let me tell you, I'm HOOKED!!! ESTE rocks! I accompanied my friends on their first track experience at Willow Springs IR, Streets of Willow. The instructors were super friendly and provided a lot of great instruction on how to enjoy the trackday. Their prices are awesome and include: timing, basic instruction (follow lead instructor's car to get a feel for the track and driving line), and lunch (although my friend and I didn't get one - we were the last two in line and were told to go to the diner... fed on adrenaline instead) They provided complimentary donuts in the morning and water throughout the day for drivers. Instructors are available for an additional $50. Another great thing they offer is that the instructors allow other drivers and their guests to ride along in their cars. My friend was able to get a ride in an instructor's Ferrari! Naturally, we took lots of pics and she was blown away by the experience. Unfortunately, only instructors are allowed to have passengers so if you were expecting to impress/scare/turn-on/etc. your friends, leave it to the instructors (perhaps offer some $ to instill extra fear). They frequently offer promo codes for an additional discount and if you buy their multiple trackday package it's a real steal. If you're on the fence, don't be. Gather your friends and bring them with you to the track for some fun and friendly competition. And if you drive a miata/frs/brz you'll have a mini meet too. read more

I have been running with extreme (Extremespeedtrackevents) since 2010 and this company have been providing a very good opportunity for regular people to be able to drive their cars on the race track with affordable price . You will be registering in one of the 4 groups: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Super Advanced. Each group will take turns go on the track for around 20 minutes per session. I have attended almost all different organizations who run HPDE (High performance driving event) around Socal and extreme definitely have the best price you can ever find for taking your car to the track. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They try everything they can to keep everyone safe and they would kick out the people who show unsafe behaviors. It is definitely the best place for you to start bring your car to the track. You can start from beginner group and move up when you are going faster. They also offer free group instruction and timing. You can't beat that price anywhere else. There are other companies which have less people registered for their events, and you might get more clear track time. However, the price is usually doubled or more. If you are new, my best advice is: Be safe and consistent, do not try to rush yourself and try to push your limit. You will gain speed over time with your fluency and experience. Your first goal should be able to drive your car back, not to be the fastest guy out there. Make sure you inspect your car and maintain it properly since you are going drive it hard, you do not want to break on the track because that will not only kill all the fun but also frustrating. If you start hitting the traffic within the group you start with, talk to the staff and have them move you up, they are always cool about it. If you are getting good with it, keep in mind that they also run their events with redline time attack. It is eight events per year competition in difference classes. If you win, you can received prizes like tire, suspension, car parts and all kind of good stuff. Joel is the one who is in charge of running all the events. If you like your experience driving on the track and want to go to track more often, you should talk to him about their discount offers. Had my first track day with Extreme Speed. Seems to me things have changed a lot after reading some of the bad reviews. Event was organized by Rob. Everything was on time. Instructions were very clear. I opted for an instructor since it was my first event and was assigned Doug. Doug was totally cool. Very experienced and gave very clear concise directions while I was driving. He encouraged me to trust my car and trust myself. By the end of the day I was running significantly better lap times. I normally don't write too many reviews on yelp, but I found it necessary to lower the star ratings for this trackdays organizer (or should I say disorganizer) since it seems like many extreme speed employees are writing positive reviews for this group in order to boost their own ratings. Extreme Speed was my first trackdays group that I ran with, mainly due to their low price. Their prices are the cheapest out there, which is about the only thing they have going for them. However, cheap price comes with its consequences! First off, in order to make up for their cheap price, they overcrowd the track and sell as many spots as they can. Good luck getting a clean run in, as you will become extremely frustrated with the amount of traffic on the track. Secondly, the cheap price tends to attract some less desirable drivers. So not only is the track completely crowded, but you find yourself in somewhat dangerous situation while on the track because drivers think they're all lewis hamilton, trying to pass people without point by and win something, even tho it's not a competition between drivers. This would be better controlled if they had more staff, but the last few events I attended, they seemed to be lacking flag workers on the track. Granted my last event with them was last year, so I'm not sure if they have improved since then. Third, don't fall for their coupon packs. My friends and I fell for it and bought a coupon pack to split among ourselves, since Joel told us there were no blackout dates or restrictions. I've run into many occasions where I have tried to sign up for an event with a coupon pack, but either it is miraculously a black out date, or they are sold out. I had them tell me they are sold out for an event, but then my friend was able to sign up online (for full price of course). No matter how many times they announce the coupon pack offers on the loudspeaker (probably once every 30 minutes), and no matter how hot the 2 asian girls Joel walks around with trying to sell the coupon packs, DON'T FALL FOR THE COUPON PACKS DEAL!! Overall, poor customer service, unorganized events, bad and constantly changing policies, shady business practices make for a poor experience at the tracks. I will start off...I never give one star reviews, however with Joel Perez and Extreme Speed, one star is pure charity. All the poor reviews here are accurate. I've been racing in SoCal for almost 20 years, run lots of events and usually instruct when I'm not racing. Needing a test day, I got sucked into a $99 special at Big Willow 6-11-16 and traded emails with Joel prior to the event to CONFIRM that my adult son could ride with me as a passenger. Joel asked me to bring my PCA comp license with me to the event and said it would be fine. Fast forward to the event, at check-in Joel is giving everyone with a discounted entry the third degree, asking for names/dates and emails to prove they registered online before the cutoff. There is a line out the door and down the stairs as we watch the time tick away, this was my first but not last observation of Joel's arrogant and rude attitude... I get my turn at bat and remind him of our conversation about my passenger and he has amnesia, and then gives me the same hard time about the discounted ALREADY PAID for entry! I had printed out my email to him complete with his responses and produced that for him....he looks at it, looks at me puzzled and says okay. I get my wristband and watch him nail all the newbies for $20 each for numbers and helmet rentals. The run sessions start late, don't follow the schedule and had massive speed differentials in the red session. I heard lots of complaints about crowded run groups in the other groups. I ran the morning sessions, tested what I needed to test and headed home vowing never to run with them again. About a month later I got my credit card statement and discover I was charged another $32 for "online registration" from Extreme, negating any discount from my early online registration. A series of emails to Joel went unanswered, so I put my account in dispute and prevailed Don't allow yourself to get sucked into the "Cheap track day" forum posts from "Marshall Racer" when Speedventures, West Coast Racing and others that run a great events for just a little bit more! read more

Horrible experience! A friend and I decided to start tracking our cars so we went with xtreme boy did we regret our decision..... The owner Joel is a middle aged balding fat man thats takes out his anger on track customers.. I had a question that the instructor didn't answer so I asked Joel wooow he gave me a look of hate as he was answering my question. IF YOU DONT LIKE POEPLE asking you questions maybe you shouldn't own a business were you have to directly interact with your customers..... i will never go back to a business that doest acts as if there doing me a favor when im giving them my business read more

Only came across 1 truly good employee. The guy instructor/safety guy witht he silver 03 z06 is a true gentleman who loves the sport and takes care of the customers way beyond the call of duty. Sadly that is not the case for the other employees. Specifically the Hispanic guy putting wrist bands on people at the counter and the Asian guy in charge of the lap times. Very condescending attitudes which is not acceptable. Lets start off with the "wrist band installation technician". The kind of tool that wears sunglasses indoors and tries to find problems INSTEAD of solutions. If you put wristbands on for a living, shut up and do your job and help customers to the best of your ability. Don't be d-bag and argumentative over simple stuff. Lied to try and force a point. "Lap time guy", you deserve to have your smug face caved in. You do not have the right to talk down on people with valid questions. Lets get real here, you enter in lap times for a living. Be respectful to paying customers or some kid still in high school will take your job. Joel the owner is a business man, I wouldn't doubt some of the negative feedback on here, that said it took the Joel to resolve a simple issue that almost kept me from driving that day. Also our event t-shirts we pre-purchased appeared to be recycled from other events. Maybe there were t-shirts relative to our event in the pile I don't know. I have done 3 events with Joel at extreme speed. 2 of the events I rented his mazda miata. The miata performed flawlessly all day long. We had 5 sessions each session was 20 minutes. All three events I attended were at willow springs. They provided free transponders for lap times, free doughnuts at drivers meeting and we also got a free lunch and free helmet rentals included in the miata rental. No free lunch when you buy a track pack though. I found the staff to be friendly. I thought the events were well organized. I would recommend extreme speed, I had a blast and will continue to use them for events. I just bought an M4 and will be on the track with it soon!! read more

Extreme speed isn't perfect, and no event coordinator is. They are usually not on time and running behind schedule, but they make up for it by being very clear and regularly repeating heads up for run groups and when a run group is going up. I have run at least a dozen events through XS and they're the only ones that I have yet to miss a session that wasn't my fault. So what if they're a few minutes late, or even 30 minutes, you still get all your sessions. At the end of the day, XS is not only the lowest price coordinator I've run with, but they're also the most encouraging for you to improve your lap times and they have great instructors and an environment that encourages improvement. They understand that you'll go four wheels off, and that it's part of the improvement process. As long as your not endangering others or yourself, they understand the growing process as a driver isn't going to be a road of perfection. I've run with every coordinator for auto track events in the area and XS has a tendency to rely on the integrity of the drivers rather than baby, force, and micromanage... which I think is a good thing, as 99% of the race community are good people and want to do the right thing. For the remaining 1%, they've always handled it within 1-2 sessions after bringing it up with staff. At the end of the day, I can nick-pick at details between various coordinators... but I can honestly say, even ignoring price, that XS has always been more fun and I've always improved more running with them. If I were to improve a couple things it would be to allow ride-alongs (even if it means an extra ~$5-10 charge), and to skip the lunch break where the track is dead in order to thin out the track and/or allow another session. read more

If you like wasting time and money, this group is perfect for you. During registration they ask what kind of numbers you have on your car and if you say blue painters tape they make you buy a 20 dollar number sticker. They don't even give you 2 so you can put one on each side. They tell you to put the one number on the drivers side. This event was at Buttonwillow running cw13 so most of the corner workers are on the inside of passenger side of car. So they can't even see the number. Good thing I have magnetic so I didn't have to buy it. Drivers meeting was 20 minutes late and went into the first session. So the whole day was off schedule. Then finally after meeting I got to the grid and they decided to do a helmet check. I have a sa2010 so I was okay but I saw many people have to leave the grid and go rent a helmet. My friend was one of those people but when he got there they ran out of helmets. So they ended up putting a helmet for sale on the table. They ended up letting people on with motorcycle helmets on anyway. On top of being off schedule they don't always announce a pre grid so you don't even know when to go. This groups goal is not to provide a safe and fun track day experience. Their goal is to get all the money they can get out of you. read more

the worst event and company in 15 years of driving! they didn't show up on time, mind boggling disorganization, $20 mandatory sticker, my run group sessions were 12, 10 and the last one was f'ing 6 minutes! when i asked joel why our session was 6 minutes he wouldn't talk to me and point me in the direction of his lacky. this company should be shut down for unethical business practices. joel your actions hurt the track enthusiast community. read more

I've run with XS for quite a while now and have always had fun. I have one of their coupon packs and have never had a problem with black out dates. When I first bought the coupon pack, I was told to email/contact the organization a week or two in advance to reserve a spot. I would get an email confirmation and I would be good to go. I have a feeling some people are trying to get in the day before or on the day with the coupon pack. I have also never run into delays to where the first session (of any run group) doesnt start until 12pm. There have been delays due to weather, but that happens with any and all organizations. It's a cheap (price wise) trackday, it runs pretty smoothly, I can't complain. read more

This event is garbage, I paid for coupon pack with no black out dates and guess what surprise there is black out dates. The events are so unorganized, one event I had only 1 session on track and it was already 12 pm. I've been to other events hosted by other people and it was way better. Everything ran smooth and I don't have to wait forever for them to post my lap times up. Stay away from extreme speed the dude Joel is just out there to get your money. A lot of people have been upset lately with their outstanding service to get everyone mad. I'd rather spend my money on another event and get what I paid for out of it. I would not recommend anyone to go with extreme speed, they should change their name to extreme garbage or better yet extremely upset event. He also said free water for everyone there was only 1 24 pack to supply about 50 drivers or 100 not sure how many people he put in one track day but it was a lot of people. Not fair for the consumer to spend that much money on his coupon books and not be able to use them. read more

Just ran with this group for the first time yesterday. My friends were all going so I decided to join in and started getting cold feet after I began reading all of the negative reviews here. Let me start off by saying that every single 1 star review here is EXTREMELY accurate! My day began with the asian employee that was mentioned in reviews giving my friends and I trouble for parking in a "reserved parking spot". No signs or anything and he was very rude about it and seemed to like flaunting his authority. Then, the Extreme Speed staff got pulled over on the way to the event which somehow made them over an hour and a half late. Instead of running the event longer, their solution was to cut our sessions in half from 20 minutes down to 10 minutes. I was told that I would be able to take a passenger with me and needed to have them sign a waiver which I did. Later, the owner took the wrist band back and said that we can't take passengers after telling me that we could the day before over the phone! I wouldn't have had my friends drive 2 hours if I had known this prior. The track was also PACKED and it was impossible to get a clean lap. Staff was rude and the event was extremely unorganized. There were two staff members there that were fantastic but the rest were a complete joke. Spend the extra $50 and go to a more professional track event. read more
