Dan helped with photography at my daughter, Saanvi's 1st first birthday party... and it was such a…read morepleasant experience from the get go! To begin with, Dan asked the right questions on our first call to prep for his assignment, and based on details provided (100+ guests, some of whom may show up at different times; multiple mini-events to be held; requirement to have different aspects of the party captured including decoration, food etc.), Dan suggested we go with a photojournalistic method wherein he'd go about taking pictures randomly and, in the process, try to capture as many important moments as possible. And he did that, and more! In spite of there being a considerable crowd with multiple activities happening (simultaneously, at times), Dan managed to capture some beautiful, candid shots from the party. He also stayed back well beyond the committed time to take additional pictures when some of our friends and family insisted on having more taken! All this while taking lesser than the amount we agreed upon, as we both were short of change! And did I mention, it was a great bargain in the first place! I must also add that the lighting was pretty poor at the venue we chose for the birthday party - we honestly didn't see that coming as we had originally inspected the place during the day! However, Dan still managed to click some wonderful pictures for us, which is a testimony to his photography skills. Thank you, Dan, for helping capture some of the most memorable moments from the party in the most professional manner possible. I was rather surprised at how small this venue is. Although it's beautiful, it's not set up very…read morewell. I didn't see much in terms of parking, however, we took a shuttle over so maybe there was another lot. When you walk in there was a coat check set up. That was a nice touch. You then have to either take a small elevator, or a ton of stairs to the third level. It was crowded because we all got off the shuttle at the same time. Navigating those stairs in heels was quite a challenge. When we got up to the third floor, the wedding was set up in the ballroom. There was cocktail hour following. The problem was that they were set up for it (no big deal the wedding was shorter than planned). There is no place to sit or even lean on something. We were all just crammed in there. The servers had to navigate through the crowd with hot pans of food. Food was served on disposable plates. But that was probably a choice the bride and groom made. The food was good and the service was excellent. I just would have had a smaller attendance or would have done only the reception there.

Biz served as the teacher for our canvas party. Think wine and canvas, but in the privacy of someone's home. So much fun! We had the option between two paintings, and Biz provided directions but allowed people to go at their own pace and let the creative juices flow. For people like me who really need direction, she was there to offer plenty of suggestions. Food and drink is provided by the host which kept the overall cost down. Although our party was on the intimate side with ten attendees, Biz told us she is able to facilitate up to 30 artists. Definitely a unique experience and much more intimate since we all knew each other (at least by the end of the party). Cherry on top for the evening? We all walked out with a custom piece of art and new friends!

Disclaimer up front; I did not pay for this event…read more This definitely looked like amateur hour operation. A shame, there is so much potential with minimal bling and training to make spectacular events with spectacular results and profit. This business is definitely the low end of the spectrum on performance. Venue. The building looks to be able to accommodate close to 200 in a tight fit. Ant that is some of the set up problem. The ch airs in the event room are narrow and set so close together people are nearly on top of one another... not comfortable and lets face it, the crowd is bound to have a fair number of people that are overweight and wider than the guest's child that attends. Spread the chairs out a little more. Likewise, they crammed too many tables into the dining area. There was no room for guests to get in the back of the tables without having three other guests from the adjacent tables get up and move out of the way.... more on this unfortunate choice when I talk about the waitstaff service Decorations. This is a positive. The company uses inexpensive solutions combining white chiffon cloth draped with a right amount of LED lights behind for a nice effect that is easy to set up or change from event to event without a huge investment. Cash Bar. Cash bars are money makers without adding to the package expense other than the bartender. However this bar under charged and under performed. First the bartender must know the basic drinks but no need for complex cocktails. But serving in plastic dixie cups is a total miss for an formal event. Go to a restaurant warehouse and buy glassware... it is cheap. Then charge 6-7 for your drinks instead. Charging 5 per drink not only shows you failed to price point the bar offerings but also sets up for failure with the bartender tips; most people will pay with a ten or twenty and unless you set up the bar with enough to dole out 5 ones each time, they'll walk off without tipping. Food. Honestly my chefs on the submarines can out cook what was offered by a long shot. The meal was not coordinated in either color or texture. The modest portions were not an issue but the poor quality was. The plate was bland colored and bland in taste. The chicken breast was overcooked. The corn was simply reheated from a can. And the tasteless pasta was a white as a ghost and probably with as soulless a flavor. I could have my team turn out a much better product with no appreciable cost increase. Waitstaff. The waitstaff is under trained. They interrupted events to stack dishes so high and block seats that it became clear the wedding party was an inconvenience to them. For serving, the poor layout left them passing everything to the guests on the inner side of the table and expecting the guests to pass everything around like family style at the Walton's. Big failure for a formal event. Tablesetting. Again, for no more significant investment the delivery could have been much much better. The large 12 person tables had only one set of condiments. Tables that large any respectable caterer knows you need at least two full settings. Likewise, the table was essentially naked aside from table cloths and centerpieces. Tablesetting 101... put out a centering plate and dress the table for a formal event. And put out pitchers of ice water and possible ice tea. Its shabby for a formal event to tell the quests "help yourself to the soda bar in the back alcove". I could go on but I am not going to give you all the solutions how to run a successful event business. Instead, I am seriously considering opening one close by and for no more appreciable cost increase, show you how its done. It really wouldn't take much for an entrepreneur to scarf up all your business with little effort and a lot more polish for formal events than what I saw today. Two stars was far generous for this venue.
