Specialties
eXtreme K9s is not a regular dog walking service. Our walks are generally pack-style with two to five K9s romping at the river together for about an hour. We cater to dogs who need more than just a walk but we love having all different kinds of dogs in the pack. We also offer boarding services to our regular client.
The pack session is our bread and butter signature service. The pack likes to run, walk, romp, and swim for 3 or more miles a day. There is magic in the pack, the dogs stay together instinctively and work as a unit. All dogs start and end on leash so we are a presentable, controlled, and relatively calm looking group. Off the beaten path, however, the pack is allowed to run, romp, roam, leap, splash, dodge and dash themselves into the relaxed and happy pet you find waiting at home for you. Your dog will be picked up, exercised, wiped down, and driven back home. Most dogs are welcome, regardless of fitness level and size. Imagine your best friend finding freedom in open space and secret swimming holes.

History
Established in 2011.
While we love are local pet sitters, we could not find a dog walking service in this area who could accommodate a "romp" for our active dog. We wanted a service to run or swim our active Lab, Ari, for at least an hour. None of the current service providers met our needs so we created our own. Knowing there are hundreds of dogs like Ari and with the river right at our doorstep, we brought extreme dog walking to Sacramento.
We realize, many people don't have the time, energy, or lifestyle to get their dogs out for an adventure on a daily basis. At eXtreme K9s, we believe in the philosophy that well exercised pets make well balanced pets, and like us, our dogs need to be socialized.
eXtreme K9s was born out of our love for the outdoors, exercise, and most of all our relationship with dogs. We would like to share these ideas and experiences with the dogs in your household.
Meet the Business Owner: Cori P.
I am a mountain girl through and through. I was born and raised in the Sierra Nevada Mountains above Fresno near Shaver Lake. As the youngest of 8 children, I grew up with dogs - lots of dogs. I am extremely active and love to run, hike, bike, ski, and Crossfit. My mom ran all of the neighborhood dogs everyday whether it rained or snowed. At 80, she is still considered the "dog lady" in town. I am now following in her footsteps.
I began "practicing" with pack style romps on the river trails in 2010 before I opened. Eight years later, I have around 6,000 hours out with the dogs and I am more confident than ever leading our pack family safely each and every day.
Prior to opening Extreme K9s, my full time job was law enforcement until our daughter, Ohana, was born. Now I am raising our daughter(s), plural now, and ensuring your K9s get out for the workouts they need. I am looking forward to your dog joining our pack! ~ Cori Preheim
