Subtitled "Pages and More", Wilson's Newsagency is a well-sized bookstore along side a standard…read morenewsagency, with a remarkably good selection of new books. Their stand-out sections are sport, cooking, business, biography, general fiction and what they call "military & transport". Like every library, every bookshop has a different focus, so its interesting to see what this one stocks. They also have a great range of fantasy, with all the popular authors and a few new faces, with good prices to match. I almost bought their box set of the first four books in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" because it was only $65. My boyfriend reminded me how many books I have at home that I don't need and will have to move with us, so I restrained myself. But oh, I didn't want to. Their children's range is also large, with loads of vampiring teen fiction as well as plenty for early readers. This is a newsagent "plus books" that takes its books seriously. Nor does it slack off on its newsagency responsibilities, providing all the magazines and stationary you would expect.

I still get confused when I walk past this store because I'm so used to it be called Angus &…read moreRobertson. What made it even more confusing is when nothing other than the name changed in the store. Anyway, let's get back to the point. Wilsons has everything you could want for a book nerd or someone in search of a stellar newsagency. The selection of books is almost overwhelming! There's a huge variety to choose from. The newsagent portion of the store is just as good. Plenty of cards, wrapping, magazines and stationary to choose from. Wilson does not lack anything in this department. The only problem I have is the same problem I have with all bookstores. When are they going to lower the general prices of books? Why are they so expensive? Buying a movie is cheaper, and you usually end up using it more!

This is one of the better newsagencies I have been into and I was impressed by the wide range of…read morestock and products. The store sells the usual in wrapping paper, a massive range of cards including all the Hallmark varieties and the full selection of Australian newspapers. Aside from that however, they had a huge selection of journals and diaries, some at discounted prices now that it is getting into 2012. There is also a selection of kids toys and baby gift items which is unusual for a newsagency but well welcomed I think, and something that sets it apart from the others. The other thing I loved was the big range of those massive cards that are ridiculously too big and you get heaps of people to sign them. Alongside that is heaps of bulk buy invitations and thank you notes with heaps of designs and cartoon characters to choose from.

I got dragged into the West Lakes mall a few weeks ago with a friend who was picking up some frames (yes I'm a mall snob, sue me), and this newsagent made my foray into fluro-lit hell quite bearable. It was a nice surprise. Fash mags! Imports! Cute diaries! Pens! Perusers, stationery fiends and mall-haters alike will find something to tickle their fancy in here.

Luckily, I have drive, a writing addiction, and important information given to me by customer attendants for previous reviews, to remember. Great store for a writer like me. I've been here before several times pretty much just for essential items like the odd multitrip bus ticket, stationery or magazines. The Rundle Mall Plaza Newsagency does feel a little bit empty each time and somewhere you don't want to hang around for too long. Upon walking in, you are emerged in a very quiet culture, complete with several rows of mindless magazines and greeting cards for less than half an hour of fun. I managed to walk around the crowd a bit, to get to the area known as "the great wall of pens", that holds plenty of different coloured pens, pencils, and other stationery. A perfect place to take a visiting guest or regular who has the "writing itch" to scratch off...it'll bring out the inner writer within.

I've really only been in here the once, but I was impressed enough to bother writing a review on…read morethe place. They've got a really good range. Now, as a bloke, I've noticed that some news agencies have very little in the way of reading material for the fellas. They almost all, pretty much without exception, have stacks of women's magazines. That never really changes. A lot of places limit their mens range to *those* magazines that are wrapped in plastic (apparently to seal in the badness), and maybe a couple of magazines for the dude who likes V8s and other pushrod-powered dinosaurs. Not that's there's anything wrong with them. I've got some varied tastes as a car nut, but the same old Aussie muscle car mags just don't do it for me. So when I walked in here, I wasn't expecting much. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have some of the harder to get stuff (like some of the US based VW mags), they had plenty of copies of each. I walked out with my copy of ACVWs, Zoom and HPI, as well as a PC magazine. This place has some real variety. I'll be going back again next time I'm in Adelaide.
