Our 1990-built home still had the original aluminum frame windows. Although they were dual pane, given their age, they did not offer modern efficiency. Further, one had a broken seal and a few had become difficult to operate. The older sliding glass doors felt heavy to open and close. We decided to replace all 10 windows as well as the two sliding glass doors. After a few estimates and discussions with contractors, we decided to go with Extra Clear Windows and Doors. Eddie helped with making some decisions related to reconfigurations for two of the windows. He also helped us with understanding the different types of installation. We chose the new construction installation type for all of the openings. We felt this option offered a better looking final result. It also meant all new flashing and all new exterior wood trim. The additional cost was reasonable for this option. We selected the Anlin windows after Eddie showed us samples of a few options. Eddie handled all of the steps including pulling the permit and setting up the inspections. New construction installation requires two inspections - one before trim is applied so that the county can inspect the flashing, then another after the job is fully completed. Prior to the installation date, Eddie's team dropped off the wood trim so that we could paint it. On the day of the installation, he and his team arrived on time. The team was great. They were very efficient, attentive and asked us questions along the way to make sure they understood our needs. They also answered any questions we might have had. They were very respectful of our home, as well. I can't say enough about how good the team was to work with. The first portion of the installation was completed on day one. Eddie had already scheduled the inspector to come out the next business day (Monday.) After this first inspection, his team was able to finish up the balance of the job, installing the exterior wood trim, that same day. The final inspection occurred the next day, without issue. We are very happy with our new windows. From the ease of use to the attractive design to the improved clarity, they are a considerable upgrade! We love how they look and operate. We also notice less noise from outside. The reconfigurations we chose do to have also been quite positively impactful. Most notably, there was a large window in the living room that we never opened because we relied on the other smaller windows and the sliding door in that room for air circulation. We decided to make the large window into a picture window instead. What a wonderful transformation that turned out to be! All in all, Eddie and his team did a great job of providing us with the new windows and doors our home needed. I shopped around and chose the Extra Clear Windows & Doors Inc. Company. They had the best price we found the of all the Contractors supplying & installing the ANLIN BRAND Window & Door Inserts. They promised *and delivered* on installing them all easily in one day even though they were doing seven windows and two sliding glass doors. The crew of four workers were prompt, timely, conscientious, and professional. They tarped the paths they walked to keep our floors clean. None of the old glass got broken and all were disposed of with no mess. The windows & doors were installed properly and as they were finishing up, their calking job was absolutely flawless. These dual-pane, gas-charged, vinyl-framed windows and sliding glass doors have made a huge difference in our lives and our home. The noise level from the street is considerably less than half of what it was with our 1970s era, aluminum-framed windows. Our gas heating bill has gone down noticeably too. These new windows & doors glide open & closed way smoother and much more quietly than the old ones did; even the locks and handles are better! I've noticed that the Low-E glass provides a slight bit more privacy during the day, seeing in from outside is a bit more difficult but does not detract at all from the view when looking out. What a big difference new windows can make on your home! With remodeling my home, I wanted to get new windows first in 2020, but had a change of plans with how difficult Covid made things that year. Fast forward to 5 years later, my journey to getting new windows is still an exhausting one from researching for the perfect windows to finding a company that sells that particular brand that I want. I messaged over 10 window companies on yelp to come for an estimate letting them know that I specifically want Anlin windows and I narrowed it down for 3 to come measure and bring window samples for me to see when they arrive. One company (the worst) came to my home not saying a single word to me or my mother and just continued on measuring the windows. The man even handed me a pamphlet at the end pointing to things that I will be getting for my windows, basically what he thinks I should get without letting me know what options I had! All done in less than 20 minutes and off he goes! That was a huge red flag and I hope no one has to go through what I did with that company especially not asking your customer what they want. Eddy was the last person to come in for measurements and he came prepared with window samples and even showed me how Anlin windows can block the sun out which was really cool because I hate the heat lol he is really skilled at his craft and I told him I wanted the Anlin Panoramic windows because I wanted more glass showing and less of the vinyl frame. Anlin also offers their customers double lifetime warranty which was a huge plus for me. I originally also wanted garden windows for my kitchen, but the cost was a little over my budget so I asked for the End Vent Slider window with grids on the sides and they are just as beautiful. Eddy was very patient and attentive, he replied to my millions of questions while I make my final decision and he even agreed on every little changes I wanted for my window such as grids for my front and delta frost on the sidelights and my bathroom window. To top it off Eddy even gave the best offer out of all the window companies that came! His offer was so much lower than what the others wanted! Before placing my order he sent me the specs to double check everything was correct and the day of installation, his crew worked very hard during the heat to install these new windows for hours and the result changed the whole outlook of my home-so many compliments from my neighbors and family that visited. As far as installing brand new windows into an aging (72-yr old home) and getting them to align perfectly and be solidly supported and look like a completed work: Extra Clear did an excellent job! The only reason I didn't add the fifth star is due to how much cleanup we had to do as the homeowner, but really that was more a failing of the general contractor who had laborers that could have assisted with that aspect. It was a tough job...15 windows of varying sizes and in very different wall types (concrete, natural stone, drywall & stucco, siding & stucco, adding bigger openings into the existing wall than what already existed, etc. Extra Clear was willing and able to continue working late into the night to get the job all done in one day (for the second mobilization).
