The staff at Express Travel - which claims to offer the best Aloha / Hawaiian travel packages - are friendly and prompt with great travel advices. This is the place to do business with if you don't care to be cost-conscious.
My request for quote came very quick with a lot of explanation ... it looked fine on paper until I got to the flight details (which were not given in the quote ... only given when you're ready to give your credit card #). Apparently, the package seemed cheap since the flight arrangement was awful (lots of stops on some cheap airlines that shall remain nameless).
When I asked how could I eliminate 1 flight stop for our party of 5, I was told that would add $1950 to the whole package price.
Unhappy about it, I did some digging in Expedia.com (not necessary cheapest but at least easy to browse). I found out the flight cost difference should really be $300 total. I refused to give my credit card # and ignored his phone calls. A day later, the sales rep told me he could eliminate 1 stop in the flight by adding ***just*** $600.
Very angry about it, I went ahead to Expedia.com and booked everything *EXACTLY* the way it was listed in the quote, except I'd pick better airlines (Hawaiian) and less stop (non-stop out-bound, 1-stop-inbound).
To my surprise, I saved $2300 for a party of five if I book thru Expedia. I then went ahead to upgrade my rooms from OCEANVIEW (as in the quote) to OCEANFRONT, and still saved $1500!
It was funny when I told the sales rep that I moved on. He said ... I must have cheapen the hotel booking to get that savings.
Nuff said.
