I gave it a 3 only because the employees were friendly and didn't have the attitude problems that I expected them to. Besides that the experience was a first and last time thing for me. You go in and put your name on the list and wait to be called. When I arrived I was the 6th person in line. I got there shortly after 10am and just left and it's currently 12:37. In all that time they only saw 6 people. When I left there was standing room only and one of the workers was headed to lunch. POOR INSTRUCTIONS AND HUGE WASTE OF TIME. I'm in the process of transferring my title from out of state for an old car my parents gifted me. First time I went I waited 2 hours to be seen. They told me how to fill the act of donation form and that it must be notarized. I asked all the questions I could think of to fill out the form correctly. I didn't complete the transfer that day but it's completely understandable. I had my parents, who live out of state, fill out the form, get it notarized and mail it to me. I return to the office a week later. I waited another two hours to be seen, while people behind me in line were getting called. When I finally get called the lady behind the counter informs me that the form won't be accepted since the value put down for the car was $0. I told her we put it down so we wouldn't have to pay taxes on it. She said "I don't make the rules this is how it is". I offered to put a number down in front of the zero. She said no because the form is notarized and crossed it out. I then told her it's my parents property and they can choose the value. She disagreed. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THE FIRST TIME I CAME THE PROPER INSTRUCTIONS. You can't call or go online to find the correct instructions you have to show up and waste your time. read more

The only reason I give it three stars is because when I finally got to see someone to do my title transfer it was done in less than 15 min and they had the best price for a transfer but I had to wait almost two hours to see them there is nothing express about this place and the employees look miserable there read more

I've heard from everyone that when you need to just do something simple and driver's license or vehicle related, that this is the place to go. They were right. The employees were nice and service was quick. It is cash only and their is an $18 convenience charge for using their services, but it's totally worth it. Like a regular DMV, I'd recommend going first thing in the morning if you can so you can get a good spot in line. You'll be in and out. My birthday was nearing and my license was soon to expire. I woke up early to make my way to Metairie's OMV. I got there a few minutes after they opened and the parking lot is completely filled. I thought to myself, "I hope all of these cars are for the employees because I am not waiting all day just to renew my license." I grabbed my ticket and took a seat. After waiting 30 minutes with no indications that my number was nearing, I remembered my sister telling me about Express OMV. I walked out of that depressing waiting room in a heartbeat and made my way to Express OMV! This place is located right above Parran's Seafood and there was plenty of parking in the parking lot when I went. When I first walked in, I noticed a sign that said they only accepted cash. Luckily I had some cash on me or else I would have had to use the ATM in the waiting room. There's a tablet that you use to add your name to the waiting list and you just wait until they call your name. The wait for me was about 30 minutes and the lady who helped me was very nice and professional! She took care of everything I needed efficiently and I was out in no time. It's pricier than the regular OMV, but it'll definitely save you time. They also offer Real ID, which I will make one with them at a later date. I highly recommend Express OMV, they saved my day! read more

Service is good. Personnel are friendly and usually move people through efficiently (today was slow - 40 minutes for a duplicate license). I gave them two stars because of their website that offers NO information about what documents are needed for their services. And the fact that no one answers the phone nor returns calls. The office is located opposite Atomic Burger on the North side of Vets, 2nd floor, above Parran's. Sign in electronically when you arrive and have a seat. They will call your name, not in order, but by the reason you came. FYI, if you're getting a passport photo: Do NOT wear a white top. The background is white and they need contrast. You will have to go home, change, and come back. CASH ONLY!!! I visited this place in 2017 after moving to New Orleans from New York. After paying a crazy amount of money to reregister my car and get my Louisiana driver's license, here I am 3 years later finding out from an actual Louisiana DMV that my license was cancelled for having an out of state license, all because this place took my NY state license but never sent it back to the NY DMV or updated the DMV system. Don't go here as an out of state person. Go to the actual DMV. The wait isnt that much longer, they are cheaper, and you can be sure they will follow all of the proper procedures. Learn from my mistake and dont get your license cancelled because these people didnt do their job. Edit: Apparently on my google review, the owner states my review is not factual and that I don't understand the process, but he failed to list any supporting evidence for that hypothesis. So for the owner, how about I educate you? Which is only possible if you failed in your job to notify NY DMV of my move, which I have evidence for, because my NY license was issued on 1/2017 in New York, and you issued me a LA license on 7/2017. Which means you had to take my out of state license, and were supposed to notify the NY state DMV, which you didn't do. I stopped at the DMV today to convert my driver's license into a REAL license and it was a total no-go. There were literally hundreds of people ahead of me. That's where Express OMV comes in. I headed to their Metairie location - they're on Vets above Parran's - and was in and out in about 30 minutes. What a timesaver!!! It's a run down looking place, but who cares. The DMV isn't the Taj Mahal either. The staff was friendly, professional, quick, and efficient. My new REAL license was $35. Oh, and they only accept cash. The women that work here are not only unprofessional but also uneducated. I went in to show proof directly from the clerk of courts office that I showed up for my court date for a traffic violation. I needed the pending suspension taken off before my license would be suspended. She for some reason would not accept it. I drove from Metairie to Hahnville & back with the same document but this time I paid to have it certified by the court. Waited in line AGAIN for her to tell me that wasn't the official document. The woman even went as far as telling me she use to be an attorney!!! I called the clerk of court & had her on the phone to verify that was the official document but the woman would not hear it. I then drove all the way to HOUMA & it was taken care of right away because what I had was official. At the Metairie office I dealt with Sandra & the short woman with the short hair that I'm assuming is the office manager? Neither of which knew what they were talking about. After spending FOUR hours in the regular DMV a few blocks up the road earlier in the week and never even being called, somebody recommended this DMV to me. I was extremely pleased and surprised by the service and efficiency provided here. When I arrived, slightly before 8 there were 3 people ahead of me. You sign in on an Ipad and then take a seat and watch a screen that shows where you are on the list to be serviced. The three people ahead of me didn't have the necessary materials and the woman at the counter very nicely explained to them what they would need and why they would need it. My issue was a license reinstatement due to a past due ticket (it was paid), the woman at the counter explained to me why I owed money and how much I owed and really quickly processed my payment and sent me on my way. Be forewarned they do only accept cash and there is a slight upcharge but the service and speed def makes it worth it. I called ahead of time to make sure they could do what I needed and they were nice and friendly on the phone as well! read more

Hot as shit because the a/c is out waited 2 hours and couldn't even make any appointment on their web page. We paid all our fees in Jan. this year and I go to renew the sticker on our plates and can't because they never took the flag off after we paid $740. This place is really great. I have had waits from 5 minutes to 45 minutes, but always feels quicker than the DMV. Definitely bring cash which I always forget! They do have an ATM in case you do forget. The bathroom is down the hall and inconvenient so keep that in mind. Otherwise great service and quick! read more

Walked in for two days the service is good staff is friendly the issue is with their violations on personal data of their customers. Each day of my visit to this location they have had people state their full social security number out loud including age & name. As this poses a greater risk to everyone who uses them I can not recommend anyone to come to this location. Otherwise the location is clean an well maintained just it is strange to see a business violating their customers privacy unfortunately that is also why A complaint has been filled with the local government auditors office on data violations. read more

Not even sure why the girl decided to ask me if I previously had a Louisiana license if she was just going to keep prompting me with more questions until she had a reason to turn me away. Went here Friday to get my Real ID. Took me 30 minutes total from waiting to getting my ID. I brought what I thought I needed but I was missing a bill with my name and address. The lady was nice enough to figure out what I could give her via my phone, while I was there. I even joked with her about taking a good picture for me! She laughed.
