I really don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but every once in awhile, they have actually turned…read moreout to be beneficial. I'm updating my review based on the personal note I received from one of the staff at Frank's after reading my comments. Elyse took the time (which I consider a display of people actually caring) to contact me back. She was concerned, her tone genuine and she was interested in taking steps with me to remedy my negative experience. People have their off days. Perhaps the person answering my call that day was having one too. I never know who's going to read my reviews once I hit post and it spirals off into the internet atmosphere. Thank you to Elyse for taking the actual time which so many of us don't do these days to write a personal note and to care enough to remedy the negative situation. Very cool!

I clicked on the I'm Interested link and before I knew it my phone was ringing. It was David on the phone he was so, pleasant and easy to talk to on the phone. Within the hour he got back to me with an interview invitation. I interviewed the following day and I am happy to say that I will be starting my new job in two weeks! It is job recruiters like David that know how to spot talent and make things happen! Thank you David!

Paul has many excellent resources on his website that he would encourage me to take a look at. He really works to train you how to interview well. He also has great follow though. I was contacted about a possible assignment that was for a trading firm in the city. First of all, they don't bring me in to go over my background in person. To make a long story short I go on this interview only to find out its for a mid-level support position that I was considerably over qualified for. To make matters worse, I never even heard back from DriveStaff abut feedback from the interview! I will never work with them again.

If you do not have an HR person, they can come out to help with anything you might need - recruitment, employee handbook, staff training, you name it. If you do have an HR person, they are still a wonderful organization to belong to because they can assist with any of the more tricky issues (legal woes, FLMA, worker's comp, discrimination, etc.), and provide ongoing training and support. My boss used them before he hired me to help him handle many of the HR functions of our organization, and once I came on board they helped us to develop our HR department and continue to provide aid whenever we need it. They have an "HR Hotline" when you have a question about employment law or other odd issues. They offer a yearly HR conference and a yearly Employment Law conference right here in the burbs, and both are fantastic. If you are a job seeker, I do not recommend working with staffing agencies for a few reasons. Let's get into a few problems with this one in particular. Most of these reasons are applicable to the other agencies out there. First, this staffing agency asks for sensitive information before you are certain you have a job. When I came for the interview, they asked for my social security card and bank account number. This made me very uncomfortable, considering I was not assured a position. A few days after meeting with the recruiter, I followed up about the job I interviewed for. He said the job was "on hold" but the company really liked my resume. Sure... Shortly after that, he said the job had been filled by an internal candidate. Ultimately, that seems to be how it goes at most companies. A series of interviews are conducted with external candidates. In the meantime, an internal candidate has been selected. In a way, I can't fault this staffing agency for that. The recruiter seemed transparent, but all he really wanted was to enter me into the big database of job candidates. I worked with this agency months ago and have not been contacted with any further job leads.
