For nearly 17 years, I've applied for positions through Burnett Specialists and communicated with…read moreseveral recruiters. I first began applying around 2009 while I was still in college. At that time, I understood when I was told I needed more experience or additional assessments before qualifying for certain positions. Instead of giving up, I took that feedback seriously. Over the years, I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees, gained experience in state government, higher education, secondary education, and several other professional roles. I continued building my résumé because I believed that eventually I would become the type of candidate they were looking for. Over the past four months, I've applied for numerous positions and reached out to multiple recruiters. Unfortunately, the outcome has remained the same. Whether it was a full-time position or even an internship in my degree field, I was consistently passed over. At first, I was frustrated because I felt I had done everything I was supposed to do to become a stronger candidate. My goal has never been to remain stagnant. I believe in appreciating where you are while continuing to grow professionally and create better opportunities for yourself and your family. Over time, however, my perspective changed. I realized that not every staffing agency is the right fit for every candidate, and that's okay. Sometimes an organization simply isn't the place where your career is meant to take off. If you've had a similar experience, don't view it as a loss. There are many excellent staffing agencies throughout Texas that may be a much better fit for your background and career goals. I've personally had better experiences with PrideStaff and MDR, and there are many other reputable agencies worth considering, including: * Robert Half * Express Employment Professionals * Clayton Services * Murray Resources * Frontline Source Group * AppleOne Employment Services * Snelling Staffing * CornerStone Staffing * The Liberty Group * Link Staffing * AmeriTech Staffing * KP Staffing Many of these agencies are Better Business Bureau accredited or have established reputations in Texas staffing and recruiting. I sincerely wish Burnett Specialists continued success. My experience simply wasn't the right fit, and I hope this review encourages other job seekers not to become discouraged. Sometimes the right opportunity is waiting with a different agency. Toodles.

My experience with this staffing agency was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I took the…read moretime to visit their office and complete the entire application process, providing all the requested personal and employment information. After that, I received absolutely no follow-up--not even a simple acknowledgment or update. I also called several times to check on the status of my application, but no one returned my calls or provided any useful information. A professional staffing agency should communicate with applicants, even if no suitable position is currently available. Leaving people completely ignored after collecting their information and requiring them to come into the office is unacceptable. This experience made me question how seriously they take applicants and how responsibly the recruitment process is managed. Based on the poor communication and complete lack of follow-through, I cannot recommend this agency. They need to improve their professionalism, transparency, and respect for job seekers' time.

I doubt things always go THIS smoothly for any recruiter but this is beyond a miracle and I can't express how incredibly grateful I am for Jeremy's kindness, his professionalism, and he put me at ease about the large gaps I had in my resume so I didn't go into the interview with all the self-doubt I ordinarily would have. As it wound-down I was connected with a potential new client who, as it turned out, dropped me after only two projects. Did not hear why, from the client or the CC agent who handled it. CC would send e-mails directly regarding other possible gigs, but when I responded to them, I realized after the first, oh, dozen or so, CC wasn't even acknowledging they'd received them, let alone setting up interviews. The last e-mail I sent the agent who'd overseen my year-long gig hasn't been responding to my update emails either. Welcome to the exciting gig workforce!

So basically, Smarter HR Solutions helps local businesses with HR needs (correct me if I'm wrong). In my experience, Nicole was pretty much screening me for a position for a local business in the area. I received a phone interview with Nicole after submitting my application through indeed.com. The interview lasted about 15 minutes. It was fun, it was informative, and it made me really look forward to the in-person interview. She told me almost everything I needed to know about the company I was interviewing for and what I should be looking forward to. The correspondence was great, with a mix of e-mails and phone calls (yes, cell phones are still capable of this function). When the face-to-face interview took place, Nicole did a great job of prepping the candidates by giving us the background of the hiring company - what they do, where they started, how they got to where they are (basically filled in any gaps that were left open after we did our own research - yes, RESEARCH - it's what Google is for, folks...or encyclopedias depending on the situation, I guess). We then met with the business owners of the company looking to add to their team. Overall, the process was extremely pleasant, Nicole was wonderful (and this isn't a biased opinion just because I got hired, I promise), and I never felt left in the dark, as everything was made plain and clear. If given the choice, I would absolutely work with Smarter HR Solutions again. Well, I guess that doesn't matter. What really matters is what the company who used Smarter HR Solution thinks, right? Well, I'm on their team now, so I would say they are pretty thrilled with the results of working with Smarter HR Solutions! ;)
