I am astonished by how lackluster the staff that works at the local Express is, they're rude, unprofessional, and terrible at helping their clients find fitting jobs. I went through with the interview process and took their tests but ended up with dud jobs. Their staff who help with job placement are a complete joke and outstandingly rude. At one point in time they had exposed me to COVID-19 and didn't even inform me that I was exposed and after calling me to tell me that I was let go from the job. I got that phone call telling me I was exposed to this virus by the local health department. I was severely upset and disappointed with their lack of acknowledgement of being exposed and not being able to work for 2 weeks. I would consistently call the office asking for work but wouldn't ever get a response from anyone. So, I had to call 4-5 times a day for weeks at a time to get ahold of their staff. On their job board in the office they have a prolific amount of different jobs that range from retail, warehouse, production, office, lumberyards, etc. But if you don't have a college degree or a certification you will only get warehouse work. If you ask for something other than warehouse or production they will be snide and ask you if you have qualifications to work in such jobs. Very helpful to know that when I can just go apply at target and get a retail job without the help of express. Overall, the receptionists that work there can be nice at times, and their work specialists are buffoons with headsets on. They can't be nice even if they tried to. They are the most unprofessional people. Their rude, snooty and think their superior. Your told you can choose not to do a job but then they tell you we no longer have any work. Well that's a lie they have open positions but because you turned it down they won't let you do anything. They don't listen to you, they don't care about you at all. Your just a paycheck for them and that's it. They have no compassion. There snooty. I got a call from one of their professionals all my in boarding was done then the manager said I didn't finish my on boarding. Well I was told by one of y'all in the office it was completed. Obsolutly awful. During my phone interview my phone died and I called back, finished the interview and they told me I had the job. I filled out their paper work and gave them personal information. A week later I still heard nothing back from them so I called them to see when I started. They stated they never hired me and would call me back. I waited until the end of the day and called them again. The lady was extremely rude and told me they'll call me back again. Never heard back. Extremely unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy. I contact Express for a temporary position, I get the job and start. My first paycheck wasn't deposited into my account as they "tested" first with a 1¢ deposit and the "next check would be direct deposited". I got my second check, when I contacted Express asking where my first check was (still waiting), they stated the check was deposited. I called my bank, it was not. I contacted Express asking why I had not been paid. After a while they told me that in fact it was not deposited and my check was waiting at the office to be picked up. WHY WAS THIS NOT COMMUNICATED? Very poor communication and very poor education on how to get paid and enter time clock info. They hand you the job, don't even tell you the pay unless you ask. It was supposed to be a full time position but upon speaking with the company I worked for, they stated it was only part time. Upon telling them that I need a full time position, they stated they would find me another part time position to make it "full time" and nothing ever came of it! At first they acted quite helpful and got me an interview with a hospital that I passed and got hired for but then express never called or let me know what further instructions. It wasn't till a month later and had found another job myself that they got back to me and told me they were removing me from the job. I told them not to and they finally told me other steps to do and I did all of them and they have once again ghosted me. Very Misleading Company Staffed With Incompetent Placement Agents... They do all the necessary work to facilitate an interview & test-taking and then never bother to help you out afterwards. The receptionist staff is generally friendly but the placement people are a joke! My interviewer was Shannon. She told me she had some suitable positions she thought I would be a good fit for if another opportunity did not work out. I called her the next week after my interview. I left a few messages. She did not have the courtesy to respond back with an answer whatsoever. Not even a courtesy phone call or email to extend positive/negative news. An employment agency should do a better job of filling their in-house positions with people who have the integrity & heart to help job seekers. After all, what is the point of selecting professional staff for future employers, if they do not have a good workforce themselves ?! Just Saying. read more

Express placed me in a small company--Telegraph Engineering--about 20 minutes away from Bellingham, in Ferndale. That company had me put about 40 miles on my car running errands to and from their business to a copy shop in Bellingham. After being reassured by Telegraph Engineering that mileage would be reimbursed, I was meticulous in logging my mileage; I still have the mileage sheet! However, they terminated me before paying me mileage. I submitted my form to Express--specifically, to Shannon--several times in order to get reimbursement, and Express never paid me for the mileage and gas I used--my OWN gas--in service to this company. This is after assuring me they would, indeed, take care of it. The third time I contacted Shannon about it, she said, "I thought we already paid you." I said, "No, I was never paid." She said, "I'll get back to you." That was about three years ago. read more

I stumbled upon Express Employment Professionals and am so glad I did! They're a Godsend. The people who work at this location are great and have their jobs down like clock-work. They followed up with me until I found the perfect job. They work well together. They drop Halloween candy off to your work! There is no charge for job-seekers. Not to mention was put on available status due to a supervisor kicking me off the job all over me having a panic attack and then lied to the staff. I am not impressed with the way they treat people who are looking for positions. One person in particular is quite condescending, and if there is something about you that they don't like, they don't tell you. They just try and put you in the worst positions and the worst shifts....if they choose to place you at all. When on a job, my friend was asked what shift she would like to work, as all of them were open at the time. She gave her preference and was given the exact opposite. She asked for a day off over Mother's Day weekend with plenty of notice, and was then put on shifts through the entire weekend with no days off. Also, one person will tell you that you can have a position that you request, and another one will come and tell you that you can't have it. I understand that some people may not be cut out for some positions, but condescending attitudes and lack of honest communication is really quite unnecessary. Not impressed at all. read more

I agree with you ladies!! Highly incompetent staff that refuse to do the job they were hired for. Interestingly enough they become defensive and resentful when you tell them as much straight to their faces. Ok Email but you get my point. I signed up with these incompetent ladies in Dec of 2012, I was told by Ms. Snodgrass to wait until after the holidays, as there is not much available and things should open up then. She would then contact me again at the first of the year. This is an entire month later mind you. Doing their job is not a priority or a concern with these ladies. However I waited, went on welfare and never got a call from Ms. Snodgrass. I called back in March due to the fact Ms. Snodgrass, still had not called me back as she had said she would. I got placed on the this automated voicemail telling me of jobs in my area. I called back with interest and I got NO response and NO placement, I just got shuffled around. Always someone would get back with me. I finally gave up on them as I was working part time (at which time I got forklift certified) but still have not stopped my full time work search. about 2 months ago I got an email with jobs in my area from Express Services, I emailed back immediately explaining I live in the city they are looking for placement and I am forklift certified. I was sent an email saying they were interested in speaking with me. And have I filled out paper work with them before? I explained I had. I told them my brief story of how they never contacted me back before and who I was. Once again I was shuffled around from person to person, until I told one of the girls in an email it was apparent they need employees to assist them with their case load and I have the qualifications to do so. I offered my services for a paid position with Express Services. I was shuffled around from Jennifer Branscom, to someone named Christina (no last name given) then back to Ms. Snodgrass who was the original person I spoke with back in 2012 who refused to assist me. These girls have not heard the last of me at this point. I have been with Express Services in California before and my phone was ringing off the hook with them looking for my assistance on jobs and expertise in certain positions. I am multi-faceted and it truly is not difficult to assist me in job placement!!! To not be able to assist me in finding a job is to simply not do your job. These girls are far too comfy in their positions thinking it is all about screwing around all day instead of assisting people finding jobs!!! That is what you get paid for and if you do not find your job rewarding assisting folks finding employment then move the hell over and let me do your job cause I can do your jobs and their would not be pissed off people, instead folks who thank you for doing your job and helping someone else in the process. read more
