Alex worked with us to make sure we could find a loan that fit us and fit the type of home we wanted to buy. He was very thorough and stayed on top of everything. He also worked well with our realtor to ensure a smooth process. There were some kinks along the way (my fault for changing jobs!) but they were taken care of. Alex is a very professional, yet easy-going person and we were thrilled to work with him. I've been a member of KECU ever since I started working for the state in 2006. They're fast, yet…read morefriendly. I've never had to wait on hold for more than a minute when I've called them with an account question. When you call them, you talk to a real person at the bank, not someone in a call center overseas, or a robot. Their rates are very competitive; they're better than any other bank I've seen, and they're not out to nickel and dime you like most big banks are. Of course, you're going to get better savings rates with an online, high yield account, but their mortgage and car loan rates are much lower than what you'll find at a stealership, or a commercial mortgage lender. They've only got one branch, but you can use any of Commonwealth Credit Union's ATMs around town, as well as any AllianceOne network ATM. There's also a handful of shared branches across the country and state that you can use to get to your money. Did I mention they've got free online banking and billpay? I've been tempted to switch to Commonwealth Credit Union since they've got 4 branches in Frankfort and one in Lexington, but the folks at KECU just treat me right each time I come in.

After completing an application and a few emails back and forth with the loan officer, I was approved in no time and able to replace my furnace before the next freeze. The staff at KECU was very helpful and VERY patient with a loan newbie. I will definitely continue to bank with the friendly folks at KECU.

Suddenly we received an email from Brad Hacker saying that Melissa was no longer handling our account. I replied asking if she had left the company and received a curt very short reply saying yes. There was no attempt to reach out to us to see if we needed anything or to get to know us and our situation. A week or two went past and I wrote a note saying that we wanted to have a conversation. FIVE DAYS LATER we got a note asking when we wanted to talk. At this point we decided to move on. The communications we received were unprofessional and very casual. Done!

They asked what account I would be using, and I replied to use the same account that I deposited the checks to. Judy, their office manager, is the most unprofessional state farm representative I've ever dealt with. I met with Judy on 6/4 about a claim and cancelling my insurance. She let me know that she would refund May's payment and cancel all further transactions on my account so I wouldn't have to pay anything any further. When I walked out of her office, I was under the impression that it was taken care of. Fast forward to June 10th, state farm takes ANOTHER payment out of my account. I call their office and they FINALLY cancel my auto pay and ensure that it wont happen again, and they will refund that amount to me as well. I've called every week since then, even twice a week. Fast forward to today - July 2nd. I call corporate office, they don't have any clue what is going on because nothing has been taken care of or documented. I go in the state farm office, meet with someone else, and have to break down everything to her because THERE ARE NO NOTES IN THE SYSTEM FROM THEIR OFFICE MANAGER. It was entered as a suspension (cant suspend a car unless it is totaled or a few other things that MY CAR IS NOT) -- this agent takes care of my issue after I spent 40 minutes going over everything with her. She says the system is finally correct (a month later) and explained what Judy had done/neglected to do. I scheduled a meeting while I was there for the next day with Stewart Perry & Judy at 9am. Just got a call from Judy, now that I am back at work, saying that she cant make it to the meeting I scheduled for tomorrow. I asked her what is going on, when am I going to get my refund that was owed to me 4 WEEKS AGO - her answer is "No Clue." With no effort to do anything to fix it. I have had NOTHING but issues with this office since March of this year. She blamed this issue on an agent who was not even working there when it happened!!! She was very rude, had a horrible attitude, and kept raising her voice and talking over me. I'm 100% sure that is now how you treat your CUSTOMERS. Especially when you owe your customer money. I will never give this office my business, and I will STRONGLY encourage everyone to go somewhere else or to another agent before you deal with these issues. I've been a state farm customer since I was 16 years old and have never had a single issue until I started with this office at the end of 2018. Still waiting on my money. Probably still will be when you're reading this! BEWARE!!!! Don't chance it. Go somewhere else.
