I purchased insurance, so I contacted Expert Shipping and told them what happened and sent photos. Their answer? "You packed the boxes yourself so we are not responsible for items damaged in transit." I told them that their employee opened all the boxes for customs purposes and noted how well packed and secure everything was. Further, I asked them why they offered to sell me insurance if they knew I packed the boxes myself? I asked them to just refund what I paid for the insurance (about $45) and they wouldn't even do that. I suppose they may be okay for shipping documents, but if you're sending fragile items, you're better off with the Post Office, DHL, Fedex, or UPS! Not worth the aggravation.
