I paid $24.99 to try out their credit boost program. It came back quoting my FICO score as 782. Subsequently, I checked the other two major credit reporting companies and got 702 and 706. Then Experian dropped my score as well. As icing on the cake, the next month my bank account was debited for another $24.99. I had no idea I was subscribing to a recurring billing. I called Experian to cancel and get a refund. Even though I called on just the day after the billing, they would not issue a refund due to their "Terms and Conditions". It wasn't just an inquiry, even my personal information was wrong. I contacted them and explained everything, but the agents were rude. I received an email about a bank card that was used today. I do not even own a Cap1 bank card. I phoned Cap1 and 2 hours later, transferred 3 times , there was zero cards opened in my name. My daughter has tried to sign up for an online account since 2024. They keep saying they can't verify her identity so she keeps sending her 'proof' that they request and either they lose it or something but it's never handled. Since we can't talk to anyone on the phone, we can't find out why it doesn't get resolved. VERY FRUSTRATED!!! After numerous emails and attempting to explain my situation, I was finally able to make a dent. I was able to send my information to be updated, to access my account and unfreeze my credit. When I contacted customer service, the experience was extremely disappointing. The representative was difficult to understand, dismissive of my concerns, and refused even a partial refund. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the call was disconnected. For a company of Experian's size -- and given that they hold extremely sensitive financial information -- I expected significantly better transparency and customer support. Consumers should be very cautious when signing up for what appears to be a one-time credit report purchase. wanna hear a story so I called yesterday because there was a charge on my account for their credit monitoring for $23 and some change when I already cancelled the membership so I was requesting a refund. It was very easy to get a live representative on the phone to assist me with my refund. When I spoke to her, she told me I needed to call back tomorrow and they would initiate the refund because it wasn't showing in their system as of yet. It was still pending on PayPal so It made sense to me. I agreed to call the following day. well, when we were on the phone I guess she went ahead and cancelled the membership. these reps HAVE TO BE AWARE that once you become a free member you can no longer access a human f'in being. So, how very nice of you to say that you would initiate my refund yet I would never be able to initiate my refund because I can't contact you anymore !! Soooo today I had to file a dispute with PayPal. I'm sure I'll receive my money back but now I have to wait probably ten days and not to mention I wasted over an hour of my life trying to reach something and you know what they say...."time is your most valuable asset.
