WOW! What an excellent spot. Woke up in Oaxaca on my 30th birthday and was inspired to get a tattoo. I sent these guys a message of what I was looking for, showed up at the spot to talk it out. Language barriers for sure, but I had a friend do kind of piece it together. Showed up a few hours later & the artist had knocked it out of the park! They were super hospitable. Their work area is very clean. One thing to keep in mind, they are cash only. Make sure you bring the appropriate bills. MUCHAS GRACIAS! (I'll add a pic of once it's healed )

Carlos is a fantastic piercer! He had a very light hand and is quick! He is so gentle and funny! He pierced both my tragus, my industrial, nose and three cartilage in a row! Edgar tattooed both my partner and I. We both got original pieces of his! Edgar also has a super light hand and he's just amazing! Definitely a place to check out! Francisco He really did my tattoo fixture great! More than great. He did amazing. Like if I show you all the before, he really did a great job. Love the vibrancy of the colors we both chose together. I worked with Fabian (whose English is outstanding) on the design, and Arturo did the execution. I had something very specific in mind, and those two completely nailed it. I couldn't be happier. Arturo had an exceptional touch. The tattoo healed like nothing had happened. Highly recommended. read more

I took a trip to mexico with my wife and kid from California and decided we wanted tattoos, we felt at home with everybody inside the shop as they were amazingly nice and patient. The quality of the tattoos were also incredibly high they truly are masters of the craft. If you are visiting from out of the country i HIGHLY suggest you check them out for the BEST tattoos Oaxaca has to offer. Francisco was my tattoo artist and also the owner himself. I had ideas about getting another tattoo but never really solidified what design I wanted. I reached out to Francisco and he answered very promptly. I initially wrote him in English and thereafter we corresponded in Spanish. We threw around some dates and times and settled on the next day for a consultation. I sent him 2 images and let him know that I wanted to merge them. As soon as I walked into the shop the next day, he whipped out a copy of both the images and we were able to discuss the final details. He sketched it out for me within about 20 minutes and we started the tattoo right after. I have several tattoos all ranging in different sizes and levels of intricacies. This was by far the easiest and most seamless process I've ever experienced. They didn't accept cash. Not sure if the machine was down or if this is the only method of payment despite having signs for acceptance of credit cards. I had a great experience and would highly recommend this establishment. read more

After much research into the various tattoo shops, I decided on Exodos Tattoo while visiting Oaxaca, Mexico. Why? 1) Been in business over 20 years, 2) In legit location, just across the street from Santo Domingo Church, 3) Francisco, the artist, was more artist that salesman. When I talked to him, he tried to capture my vision on a paper. The next day when I showed up? He had a mock version already drawn. Francisco isn't much for chitchat, but he loves to draw. I picked up a Day of Dead Mask on the street the day before visiting his shop. I left it with him, along with some directions that included the AA triangle, along with the words "Unity, Service, Prayer" on each side of the triangle. I also wanted "Thank you, Oaxaca" along the bottom. He told me, straight up, that as an artist he thought there was too much clutter with all the words. It was me, so I wanted to go for it. He did an excellent job. When he was finished, I asked him to thicken the lines of the triangle. No problem. Flexible, friendly, fair. And mostly? An artwork first approach to business. read more

I came here to get my nose re-pierced. They pierced it with a ring (not advisable for new piercings, I later learned), which furthermore was too small, such that the swelling was causing the ring to pull painfully on the piercing. And they pierced it at a weird angle, such that the ring hung forward in my nose. When I said, "Parece que el ángulo es un poco extraño" ("it looks like the angle is a little weird"), one said "tu nariz es extraño" ("your nose is weird"), and that was that. Business done. After I bought a nose screw, suspecting that the ring was a bad idea, they called me "cabrón." I tried to be polite the whole time, but they were really awful. Here we are a few months later, I got to see a decent piercer, who confirmed that these guys screwed up. Maybe they could be forgiven for being incompetent if they weren't also rude. read more

Was on vacation and got in the mood to get a tattoo. I found this shop on yelp and can say they have best rating and reviews for a reason. Requesting an appointment was easy and fast. As the owner of the establishment responded in a prompt matter. I reached out on a Sunday afternoon through yelp and booked an appointment for the next day. Once I arrived to the shop I showed pictures of the writing I wanted and the artist helped me. He was able to reduce the sizing and re did the sketch a few times until I was happy with it. He used a new and clean needle and I was out the shop by 30 mins. The pricing was fair for the tattoo I received. A week later my tattoo is healing nicely:) I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone interested. Many locals stop by to get work done themselves. If I were to return I would definitely go to them. read more

A handful of my friends and I stayed at Casa de Las Bugambilias last month for a group trip and we had a marvelous time. The b&b is gorgeous and the staff is friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious, the breakfast is lovely and the location is great, everything we wanted to see in the zocalo is within a short walking distance. Some of the rooms had "cool white" color temperature lightbulbs which I personally don't like, but our room (Iris) didn't, but I'm picky about such things. I snuck a peak in the "Violetas" and "Margaritas" rooms while they were being cleaned, and they looked the most luxe. This is really a magical place.

Before I start my review I would like to start by saying thanks to all the artists at Exodus, Jaime, Marcos, and Paco most of all. I can only say good things about this place. Apart from having a great atmosphere, Paco is an amazing artist and I brought him a rough idea for a tattoo and he ran with it and made it into something truly special. Me and my cousin got tattoos and I liked it so much I got another within the same week and Paco did it without hesitation. I would most definitely recommend this shop and all its artists as a must see part of Oaxaca and an experience I won't soon forget. read more

Manco Antonio did such an amazing job on my tattoo. He customized it to fit my small arm, and was able to capture every detail. Very personable and made feel reassured the whole time. This was an amazing place to get a tattoo. I have a lot of tattoos from a lot of different shops, so I know a good shop when I see one. They showed me their sterilized supplies before opening them to use, and made sure not to touch anything while the artist was wearing gloves. I had walked in the day before, showed them the design I liked, and they were ready with the perfect design less than 24 hours later! They were all very professional and helpful too. Things are different during Covid but this company was able to work with me. The artist Christian is the best tattoo artist I've witnessed yet. I've been to four other shops in America for other tattoos and he has my favorite tattoo so far. Definitely go and see him with your ideas. read more
