The Clifton Hill Driving Range is situated at the rear of the Clifton Hill sports Centre, Clifton…read moreHill, Exeter. It is just below the artificial ski slope. This is a great place as a driving range for golf. The prices are very reasonable, currently at £3 a session. It is very good for groups of friends, even with no prior knowledge of golf. You do not need to have any previous experience and it is a great way to introduce a sport. It is possible to buy 'second-hand' equipment. Great for getting an interest in golf, especially in younger adults.

The food was great, massive portions which kept everyone going and the buffet was also good quality. We stayed in the hotel which was lovely, the room was quite spacious and we had a balcony which looked out over the golf course. Breakfast was buffet style but was cooked freshly and a good choice. Our families stayed in the lodges which were large and very well equipped, the kitchen had everything you could want, including a dishwasher which was very useful. I would stay here again and I think most of our wedding guests would too.

While visiting Sidmouth for the first time at the end of August's folk week I got the inside scoop…read more- groan, sorry - on the best ice cream in town, if not the south of England, if not the countryit was either grand exaggeration or something to listen to and I chose the latter, tastier option. The town was bustling with folk loving visitors on the first sunny day of the entire festival so it's hardly surprising there was a queue out of the door of the shop, which also does very nice coffee apparently. I hesitated to join the line as I usually hate waiting, but when I saw the gigantic ice creams people were emerging with I thought it might be worth a few minutes of my time. And boy was it. I tried a scoop of cherry and a dollop of Ferrero Rocher flavour and both were divine. I somehow ended up spending about £4 on this concoction, possibly because I added a fudge stick thingemmyjig to top it all off, but I'd say it was worth it if only for the admiring and envious glances my tub of loveliness garnered from passers by as I walked off down the street. YUM.

All the the ice-cream is made on premises and personally i like it best because it's just a little harder than a Mr Wippy so you can eat it with ease! you can get; - normal cones (double and singles) - sugar cones (large or small) - tubs (small or large) - Ice-cream shakes - as well as coffees, soft drinks, sandwiches, snacks and cakes. Top Tips? - Order a small sugar cone (believe me that's enough for anyone) - You can ask for two flavours (which is great if you can't decide!) - Get a 1 litre tub to take to your accommodation for later! There was one that was very gentle, another was very snarky, another that was very arrogant and a giant playful eagle. Truly lovely and loved birds.
